I was watching the local weather news and the weatherman said there was a possibility of getting 1 to 2 FEET :earseek: of snow this coming Sunday in the New York City area. The amount of snow depended on the storm track. Has anyone else heard this or did the weatherman mean 1 to 2 inches?

I heard on the radio today that there is a possibility for a Noreaster this weekend - Saturday to Sunday. Although, the weather channel says 50% chance of snow...hmmm.

I've been hearing the same thing for the Philly area and south of that! I sure hope that it won't be too bad or I'll have to change my Sun. plans! :D

Please for the love of GOD tell me you heard that wrong.
1 to 2 FEET? I'll be trapped in my house with a toddler!

I think you heard right. However, we were supposed to get 1 - 2 inches today and I haven't seen a flake yet, except the ones I work with! Accuweather says this weekend has blizzard potential. If I can stay home, I say "let'er rip"!

Oh no, I better hit Shoprite early tomorrow. Everyone gets crazy when there's a storm coming.

It is a classic Noreaster shaping up but still too far away to tell. They always say the maximum (to get people watching the weather forecasts every hour) but they really can't tell yet. Those storms can shift on a dime so it is never certain until it actually hits. I wouldn't get too worried unless they are still calling for 2 feet of snow saturday night!

ON a side note, about 5 years ago, one of these storms was forecast for our area. Went to bed Friday night thinking we were going to wake up to a blizzard, I think they called for 16 inches. Woke up and nothing. We only got flurries. The storm had shifted during the night and went further out to sea. So, you never can tell with these things.

I once had someone explain to me that some of these 'classic' Nor'Easters were almost like mini hurricanes without all the wind. They are VERY hinky because of all the swirling. They are also very hard to pin down, this far out.

Keep an eye on it, might not hurt to hit the market tonight for an extra loaf of bread, and your beverage of choice, and wait and see what happens.

Well, I can almost guarantee that there will be a blizzard! It's my weekend to work, and it seems that if I'm scheduled to work and they're calling for snow, we get dumped on big time!

Good thing I have an SUV with 4 wheel drive!

I like snow. I just hate the idiot drivers. I'm just going to go to Wawa and get eggs, milk and bread. No way am I braving the crazy people in ShopRite.

Thanks for the warning.

I'm heading out to the store right now for milk, eggs and bread.

I hope that I am far enough SOUTH not to get this... praying!

Yup, we have been hearing words like "Excessive", "Feet", "Major", and "unplowable" in reference to snow around here for this weekend... hoping it all blows out to sea! (On the other hand, we DO live in the Northeast, and it is winter. C'mon folks, we have to expect it! :D )

I'm wondering what we will get here in RI..They aren't saying much about it yet

Look at the bright side! If your trapped at home, DIS the day away! If you lose power (and computer), pull out your Disney planning books and enjoy, or play some Disney Monopoly or Trivia. I don't like the snow either but it sure makes for good family time (or indoor sports, tee hee). :grouphug:

I live right in that "Worst of Storm" belt. Considering I have no groceries, I think I'd better go get some. :earboy2:

Oh, you'd better get in your 4-wheel drive CRV and head to the local Target to stock up! Don't forget to stop at the Petsmart for treats for Rainy! :D
