Did I get a deal??

It depends on when you booked the package, if you booked it AFTER June 29, 2003, then there was no discount on the Fairytale package. The advertising stated that Fairytale was being introduced at a discounted rate and had to be booked by June 29, 2003. However you can still purchase a Fairytale package, but you end up paying full price for everything. The buy 4 get 7 free was an intro price to a new type of package.

The price for the FTP doesn't sound high. It sounds like a lot, but not more than it should be.

The problem is that after 7 nights you are paying full rack rate for any additional nights, and it offsets the discount. When you book 9 nights you pay for 6 at rack rate and get 3 free. So instead of a 40% discount you are only getting a 30% discount.

The way to tell if the price is correct is to go to the disneyworld.com website and price out 6 days of the basic package (hotel + tickets) for your dates at your resort.

Is it a good deal? Well, that depends on what you would normally book & pay for. Will you use 9 days of passes? Or do you take pool & shopping days? If so, change to just 7 days of the package and 2 nights of room only.

Wow! Thank you all for all your help! I didnt expect so much help! You guys are the greatest!
I booked everything before the special ended.

I called the travel agent and she is out until Monday, so I spoke with someone elce and she said they couldn't break down the price for me. I have in front of me the paper she hand wrote breaking it down, so I dont understand why they are telling me now thay cant. It says 1 room 5 people=2ad, 3ch $3650.41 Land Air Limo. In her handwriting, not printed.

So I called Disney and they cant talk to me, only the travel agent but said that $4275 is the price for what I got! This is a $625 differance!

Should I ignore it, pay the $4275 or should I be doing something about it. I am pretty mad about it to tell you the truth.

When I went to the disney site and plugged in the dates during the FTP it would only let me do 4 people and the price was $2111. That was no air and minus one kid. I did save the print out.

This whole thing is for 8 nights nine days. My kids want to go to the parks every minute we are there, so I need the UHP. Room only would kill them.

I would make them stick to the origional price or go elsewhere.

I wish I could, but now the FTP is over, so I cant!! They have me over a barrel. My brothers family is going at the same time and has already paid for everything.

What to do?

It sounds like you were charged a "fee" or the prices they were telling you were for the individual components are not correct. I guess if you book through a travel agent, you always run the risk of paying more because they can put additional "fees" on a package and do not have to pass the entire discount of an offer onto the consumer. I believe AAA is one of the agencies that does put a charge on things it books for people. This is exactly why I try to find out as much information online about a destination before I make the decision whether or not to commit my money to a travel agent. They tend to not be the best value, however others like the piece of mind they provide. However I find that the WDW agents are pretty good about explaining what each offer includes and the prices when you ask them.
