Did Double Dipping FP Just End?

OK, we are going in December and I don't want to be disadvantaged by having only 3 FP+ selections a day (which may not work from what I've heard) and no ability to get additional ones on the day. I can see they want to test this but I don't want to be part of that test as this will be the last time I can go to WDW for many years.

If we are one of the "selected ones" not to be offered a KTTW card, what is the best angle to take at check in to make sure we do get one?

"Security concerns re Magic Bands"?
"Allergy of the MB material"? ;-)
"Having heard reports of problems with MB's"?

Oh, am I going to think of you with every single fast pass I get with my KTTW card...

as I said on another thread. You are the most annoying person on this board.
I can tell by your posts that you are without a doubt one of those people that scam and cheat the rules every single chance you get. When they get all of this sorted out, I'm going to delight in the fact that it will hurt YOU and others like you the most. But, knowing the type of person you are I'm sure you will scheme and scam and find another loophole somewhere in the system.

And as I've said, abundantly, and you continue to ignore, it's not scamming, cheating, or whatever you want to call it, solely because you THINK it is, to use the system as Disney clearly intends it to be used. I want you to explain to me, why else would Disney send out a survey to guests after their trip, with specific questions about FP usage, including if they used FP+, legacy FP, a combination of both, or none? And, if you used both, there are additional questions about how/when they used them?

Does it make you feel better about yourself to call me names?

I don't remember if I posted this or not but as late as last Thursday 10/18/13 you could and we did use MB, KTTWcards and our tickets purchased through Travelocity o get fast passes, we stayed at all Star Sports, we were not given an option to use MBs or not, we were given them upon check in, as well as the KTTW cards. We used FP + for our afternoon park, and regular FP for the mornings. The fast pass lines were long for Rapunzel and Soarin , but otherwise pretty normal. Overall it was really crowded last week.

Also, for all we know at that point they may increase the FP+ allotment. I just cannot fathom Disney giving a resort guest fewer Fast Passes than non resort guests. Just won't happen.

This is the part I find fascinating. Yet that appears likely to be what will happen soon for "select" guests. :scratchin

I suppose this is all part of the "testing" - i.e. testing what they can or cannot get away with, based on the amount of complaints / kick-backs from these guests.

The FP+ was so messed up when we tested it. We lost a lot of valuable time being made to leave a FP entrance, walk to GS to have their error corrected, then walk back to FP entrance. Imagine the walk from SM to GS at the beginning of Main Street and then back again. Not good. Our problem, repeatedly, was one or more family members [never the same one(s)] would not register at the FP+ entrance while the rest of the family did. Having set up the passes for everyone myself I know that it was entered correctly. GS could never say why this glitch occurred, but I can tell you it was frustrating and took up too much of our touring time.

That's terrible. :( We had a couple of times where one of our party didn't register properly at a FP+ entrance, but the CMs just waved us through. I would have been really upset if we had to trek all the way back to guest services for that. That is most definitely NOT a magical experience. Sorry that happened to you! Hopefully Disney will implement a better way of dealing with those sorts of issues.

I don't think you need any angle. Just tell them you're not comfortable relying on only the bands, and you want a card. Simple as that. If you're polite but insistent, I can't imagine them not giving you a card.

Thanks. Yes, that what I was thinking. The "problems" angle is true, the other two are not but I only put those "tongue in cheek".

I am happy to help Disney with their testing but not at the risk of adversley affecting my family's experience if they don't work prorperly and we are not able to fall on legacy FP as a back up.

pooh4evr - they didn't give you a choice on whether to use MB? Did you have to link your tickets? Were there decent times left for FP+? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just trying to grasp what we might be in for. The biggest reasons we don't want to use MB is that you can't use all 3 FPs on the same ride and that you're limited to 3.

You could point out that you have chosen to give them more of your money by staying on site and that someone staying at holiday inn could get more than 3 FP per day. Also, if you have given them extra money for hoppers that you cannot use FP+ at more than park.

I'm surprised that Disney continues to soldier on with changes despite the number of complaints on this board. Shocking as it may seem, might the problems be somewhat overblown on DISboards?

I'll bite on that one and say yes. For several reasons.

People always are "louder" when they're complaining. You don't see too many "I had a great time" posts.

DIS represents a small percentage of actual people that go to Disney.

There are plenty of people that are thrilled and happy with their experiences with MBs and FP+.

I agree with this. A friend of mine just went a couple of months ago and used magic bands and thought it was wonderful. They had not been since she was a kid and I think a lot of the people who visit are the same. They may have never used the old FP machines so this seems great. Maybe it is great. I won't judge this system until it has been rolled out for a while, but with that said I would not want to be there now with the glitches and testing. Too much risk when you are paying a lot of money. I wouldn't want to be missing FP b/c I don't have a MB and they are gone so early or messing with all the mistakes if I did have one.

Thank you for this... I don't think alot of people realize that the number of people on this board is not even close to the number of people that go to Disney. And like you said people are ALWAYS lounder when they complain. It seems like alot of the people that are complaining here, have not even used the MB or FP+ they are complaining about the thought of using it which means that they will never give it a fair chance becuase they already hate it before they go.

Just got back a couple of weeks ago and thought the FP+ with MB system was fabulous. Now I'm not a commando so I have no desire to ride everything at least once (so 3FP were plenty). I loved not having to wake up at 2am to get a FP for Toy Story etc. We encountered no issues at the FP entrances using our MB's. The FP lines were actually shorter than any other visit this year (we visited three times before the FP+ testing rolled out). Maybe we got lucky? It's not going to be fabulous for everyone but I'll bet when it gets tweaked and polished, most people will find that it enhances the trip.
