I know, its a hard song to sing. I can't see it (so that anyone would want to hear it) but I thought it wasn't so good.

I wasn't paying close attention, but did she also screw up the lyrics?

It was awful, and yes, she screwed up the lyrics.

She got the lyrics right, but she chopped the song up. No rhythm to it. She has a lovely voice, but I prefer the SSB sung traditionally.

I wish they'd just start the game! We've already downed pizza and now we're devouring pigs in a blanket....and the game hasn't even begun!! Let's go! :cheer2:

OK, so it wasn't just me. I was going to post something on here but didn't want to come across as offensive. The Star Spangled Banner is a beautiful when sung properly. I was really upset at the Olympics when Oh Canada was brutalized. Just sing the song people. :confused3

yeah she got the lyrics wrong. She sang the same part two times. I don't recall which part. I hate when people mess with the National Anthem that way. It's great the way it is. I totally get making it your own but that wasn't even the same song the way she sang it.

I'm not even American and knew right away she'd screwed up the words!! That was just horrible!!

She sang, "What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?" twice...

I also didn't like all the runs she put into it. I'm all for artistic interpretation, but not with the National Anthem. It should be sung exactly the way it was written. I guess I take after my grandfather in that respect. When he heard the National Anthem sung badly, he was immediately on the phone to the entire family to complain about it! He's been gone for 15 years, but I still halfway expect the phone to ring at times like this!

I didn't think she sounded that bad. Besides the obviously messed up lyrics, I mean. I thought she LOOKED bad. She just turned 30, what's with all the botox?

I thought it was suppose to be re-recorded.

More like she wailed it. Maybe if she wasn't focused on the vocal gymnastics, she'd have remembered the words.

I like Christina Aguilara, but I hate it when people change the National Anthem.
