Did Avatar make you sick?

I keep hearing about people getting sick during Avatar. Is this during the 3D version or is even the regular version making people sick? I want to see it but I'm prone to motion sickness so don't want to get sick if that is the case.

From the previews, the blue people simply looked to "fake" to justify me spending $X to see the film in the theatre. Combine that with the theme (humans killing another species to harvest minerals) and I don't want anything to do with it. Why couldn't Avatar be about humans living in harmony with aliens?

Yes, that is a strong theme, along with the stereotypical evil military guys. But if you can put that aside, the movie was very enjoyable, and the visual effects were amazing.

Saw it in 3D a couple days ago. I was a bit worried I might have a problem because I've got vertigo that I was afraid would be set off by it but I had zero problems. Loved the movie by the way!

My son just came back from seeing it. He said he got slightly nauseous for a secon but it was short-lived. He did have a headache when he came out.

I get nauseous pretty easily and chose not to see this movie (for various reasons- IMO, it just looks dumb but hey- to each his own! ).

I get nauseous during action movies or in movies where the camera jumps around a lot. Friends say that this movie was great and no one felt sick at all. However, if it doesn't take much for you to feel sick, I'd say skip it!

We just got home from seeing this in 3D. I easily get sick (can't do Star Tours at WDW) and had one moment early on in the film where I felt queasy for a moment but then it passed and I had no further issues with it.

Honestly, I don't think seeing it in 3D enhanced it much; I would have preferred to see the regular version of it as the glasses annoyed me.

We loved the movie; visually stunning.

This is exactly what I was wondering. I don't want to see it in 3D anyway, so I am afraid that if I see it in the normal version if I will get sick.

We saw it in 3-D and none of us got sick. DH is prone to migraines, and rides (test track, soarin', etc...) disorient him, but Avatar in 3-D didn't bother him at all.

Just got back from Avatar 3D, no motion sickness problems whatsoever. The movie is at least 30 minutes too long, and the 3D glasses were just a tiny bit uncomfortable, but no sickness.
