Did Apple announce the education discount/freebie yesterday?

I was out all day yesterday but I know many were hoping Apple would announce the gift/freebie with purchase yesterday.

Did they? They never go all the way into June, so I am anxiously waiting.

I am waiting for this too, it will be my daughter's graduation / going off to college gift. Hopefully they will offer some sort of incentive this year. 2 years ago, my son got the itouch with his laptop, and his college offered a free printer as well.

How will this be communicated? Do we need to be signed up with Apple somehow, or is it just announced...? TIA

It is usually on their website and in the past has come out in May.

To me it seems like it is closer to the start of school when they have run this special. I want to say sometime in mid to late July. They are targeting those entering or returning to college. If you sign up for Apple emails you will get a notice. Good luck.

We took advantage of this 2 or 3 years ago, and it was late in the summer when it was offered.

I am probably going to buy myself a new computer this year, and am patiently waiting!

Is that when you heard about it, or is that when it was announced.

Google searches are telling me that the past couple of years have had dates starting May 27 and ending -Sept 7.

My friend got hers over Memorial Day weekend last year (with the education ipod touch deal.)
