Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

Can we pick the bottom 3 or what?!

And my man, Marty, got more votes than the bottom three combined.

Strangely enough, the 3 INXS songs sung tonight were my 3 favorite INXS songs. I agree with the band that all three performances were "underwhelming." But I will say that the only one that made me cringe was the one by the person that was voted off......(if you are on the West Coast, don't read below).................

Ty's comments there at the end... wow. I just lost all respect for him playing the race card like that.

I, too, agree with the band that the performances were underwhelming and I would have gotten rid of Ty for the simple reason that he got the chorus wrong! I was so disappointed with him.

I agree, Aidensmom, those were three of my favorites too.

Ok. I would've replaced MiG with Ty in the bottom three...but, that being said, Ty deserved to go. Except for JD, he was my least favorite left. However, did Ty say that he was in the bottom three three times because he was black? Wasn't Suzie in the bottom three a lot more times (or at least an equal number of times) than him? Deanna was there for a long time, too. I don't know. That comment really stuck in my craw. Simply put, he hasn't been "the best" any night. He's been good (just as I thought he was the third best last night), but not good enough to get my votes.

Many of you are INXS fans. I am not (I think I'm too young...to be honest, I don't know a single INXS song besides that "Give ya what you need song that they open the show with on Tuesdays). That being said, Ty didn't seem to fit in with the others that were competing for the spot. A lot more soul than rock. Why can't he just live with the fact that fans of INXS couldn't see him fitting in with the band? Did he have to make it about race? I don't know...maybe I just misinterpreted his comment.

OMG!!! Did Ty just throw out the race card? Puh-leaze!!! What nerve! What an insult to the public. Most of us were really pulling for him at the begining when he put out some great performances but the fact is he's been told over and over that he's too theatrical and then he went on and on about soul. Well INXS is not a soul band and even if they were, Ty does not have soul! His only soulful performance, IMHO, was last nights. And I think many voters were turned off when Ty's character emerged as more cry-baby than rock star. Ty was voted off because he wasn't the best singer for INXS, not for the color of his skin.

Yep I agree! I think Ty has a great voice and can go very far. But his voice/style wasn't right for the band. I don't think of INXS as a sole band. I love Jordis too but she would be better off on her own. I think she maybe next to go I can't say I care for JD's personality but he might do a great job as the front man...
But of course I feel it should be Marty all the way. He is edgy, dark and can also pull off the slower songs!

Of the 3, JD actually sang the best. Ty blew the chorus and I agree, it was rotten of him to play the race card at the end! Color had absolutely nothing to do with it for me -- I just didn't care for his style! "The One Thing" is my #1 favorite INXS song and he sounded awful, IMO. Jordis really sounded bad too, she practically spoke half the song, and it seemed like she forgot a line in there as well. I was actually thinking they might send Ty AND Jordis home tonight.

Out of the rest of them, aside from JD, I'd be fine with any of them winning. Jordis strikes me as more of a solo artist, though.

I liked TY. I think he's was the best overall performer in the group, but not right for INXS.

I wish they would have gotten rid of JD. He may be more their style vocal and performance wise, but who needs the drama. I really hope he goes next week (but I think it'll be Jordis' turn).

I felt that he just was not right for INXS but never thought he would place blame on race (thought he was a little classier than that) I lost alot of respect for him tonight, and now when he auditions for someone they too will think about that.
I think they just keep JD around for the drama..........although he is talented I can't see a "middle aged bunch of guys (INXS) " wanting to deal with his atititude, pompousness or ego problem when they have a great group that too is talented.
I also think they like Marty, he sings well, is well mannered and is very communicative, they seem to always ask his opinion on things.
I really hope it is Marty or Mig...........but they do seem to like Suzie!

like everyone else, I'm really upset by Ty's final comment. My god, he's in the final 6, of course people liked him. So now is Jordis or Suzie going to say she is voted off because she's a girl? That really almost hurt hearing him say that.


changing topic. I think it will obviously be Mig and Marty in the final showdown. But I will be happy with any of the finalist winning (that did include Ty too).


Whoever gets voted off at this time will end up with a record contract I think.

Yes, they have the final say.

You could end up in the bottom 3 each week and still win.

That was the exact bottom 3 I wanted! Really didn't matter to me who went but I thought Jordis' performance was the weakest, but as soon as Ty screwed up the words I knew he was gone.

I completely agree! I would've been PEEVED if Marty stayed in the bottom three after such a great performance Tuesday..soooo glad he wasn't!
Not surprised at all that Ty, JD and Jordis were in the bottom three this week and I totally agree with INXS that all the songs were underwhelming. For a brief moment, I thought INXS was going to clear house and send them all home!

I was, however, a tad surprised they sent Ty home. I know he's been in the bottom three alot lately...but I guess I thought they would be more apt to send JD home after all the issues in the house. Again, it's a musical competition, so maybe his attitude and antics aren't that important to our band, INXS.

I was teary-eyed when they announced it was Ty...I truly felt for him until he played the race card. Little respect for him right now after that. It's true that there aren't a great deal of African American rockstars ( I can only think of 2 offhand, those being Jimi Hendrix and Lenny Kravitz..I'm sure there are more though lol), but that's not the reason he was booted. I imagine him saying that was a huge slap in the face of INXS.

It's getting down to the nitty gritty now and with the exception of JD..I will be pretty upset at whomever goes next. I still think MiG and Marty have the best shot and hope they are the final 2!

I think the bottom 3 thing has changed, last nite it was more the top 3 & then the other 3. Before you could have been the 4th or 5th & still been safe. I am I making any sense.

I also think if Ty would not have messed up the Lyrics he would of been safe. After those 3 performces I wish they would of said bye to all 3. JD had a Muzac-lounge singer tone. Just like with his Elvis song. Ty did the best job but he messed up the lyrics the whole song. I was heart broken by it. He has done the best INXS song with KICK. He has no one to blame but himself & JD owes him big time.

I also agree with Marty about the whole JD-Suzie thing he wanted to rain in her parade. He has said in the past that he steers people to the wrong song so they well hang themselves.

Ty is way off base with his remark about how he wasn't taken seriously due to his race. If you remember from the beginning, they didn't like his Mohawk haircut. They complimented him when he braided it and it didn't stick up so high. Then, he went right back to the spikes. They didn't like the vibrato quality to his voice. None of this got him voted off, but now, he cries every week, and frankly, he's not the greatest looking guy in the contest either. I think lots of things contributed to his getting voted off, none of which had anything to do with the color of his skin. I thought Marty and Susie looked so blown away after he made that statement! I'm liking Marty more and more now, and agree that JD has gotten so strange, that he's probably out of the running. I still like Jordis, but her performance last night was mediocre at best. Can't wait for next week! Also, my DH pointed out how uncomfortable it is that they broadcast the "behind the scenes" conflict footage during the competition, while other shows, (Survivor, etc.) only broadcast it once the entire show is over. It must make for a lot of tension in that house!
