LOL, I guess I'll just assume none of us were overwhelmed by it.bengalbelle said:Yeah, but what about Easy Easy (or whatever it was called)![]()

Mermaid02 said:Easy Easy sounded like INXS.... Now I like INXS (was a big fan "back in the day") but I was disappointed that they chose a Michael Hutchence impersonator. When JD sang INXS songs I felt like he was trying to sing and move like Michael.... I didn't like that.
I'm looking forward to Marty's cd....

They better come to Pittsburgh, because I am so there!

MiG was still my favorite but I would have loved to have seen the direction that Marty would have taken them. JD just repulses me and I think he will alienate a lot of us "older" fans.At least that is the consensus of my group of friends, not that that means much to anyone else.
You would have thought that INXS would have wanted to move into this era of music instead of trying to rely on their old stuff. It was evident to me that they did not want to change their style, other wise they wouldn have chosen someone other than JD. I know he is talented but he just hits me wrong, I also knew the moment he started singing last night that he won. Marty for some reason was off last night and again he was doing the "mad conductor" thing. But he would have sent INXS into the next phase of their music instead of moving backwards.Crankyshank said:I totally agree! I can listen to my old INXS cd's if I want to listen to Michael Hutchence. I'm not interested in buying new cd's with an impersonator or pay $$ to watch him slapping his crotch in concert.
swandiverpatt said:During "Easy Easy" I told my husband to close his eyes and just listen. Yep, sounded almost exactly like Michael Hutchence. Elvis impersonator = Michael Hutchence impersonater. Wise move on INXS's part to choose someone who could cover their old material to a T ....
MrsMud said:This is a brilliant marketing ploy on the part of INXS! Many who preferred Marty to JD and would go see the concert if Marty was singing will still go to see Marty as the opening act. So they get the INXS fans, the JD fans and a good chunk of Marty's, too. Brilliant!

I've really enjoyed chatting with you all on these boards. Thanks for the fun posts!

I really like Marty, but I think his style was a little too "dark" (for lack of a better term) for them. Regardless, he will have himself a nice career.Aristocath said:but I would have loved to have seen the direction that Marty would have taken them.
Well include me with the "older" fans that has not alienated the band already. Personally, I will wait until I hear their stuff before I make a decision.Aristocath said:JD just repulses me and I think he will alienate a lot of us "older" fans.![]()
