Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

Does anyone ever wonder what Dave Navarro's wife (Carmen Electra) thinks of all his comments? LOL! I almost passed out when he commented on Brooke's skirt tonight! Not knocking Dave cause he is AWESOME...but it always makes me think.

Now for my opinions!

Susie- Very gutsy move on her part..I agree with most of what the band said. Doing the arranging herself (with JD's help) was fabulous...she did a MUCH better job than I thought she would.

Mig- Again..agree with INXS. He sounded great...but he's sticking to the songs he knows he can excel at. I'd like to see him sing a ballad like one of the bandmembers suggested. I think he's wonderful though and I see him making it to the end!

JD- Didn't like it at all. I don't know why I didn't like it, but something just didn't sound right. I'm not sold on him yet.

Jessica- BOO! I just don't think she did any service to this song at ALL. For the first time, I actually muted the tv I don't see her making it past this week IMHO.

Jordis- A big dissapointment this week. I love her, I love her voice, I love her look..I really think she has amazing talent. Just a poor song choice, although, she does switch up which songs she sings and I think that is very gutsy of her. I'm sure she will rebound and win me over again next week! I still don't see her in the bottom 3.

Brandon- I confess...I adore Brandon. I don't know what it is about him, but I have a hard time saying he stinks lol. Southern Rock is definitely his forte, so I don't see him making it with INXS, but I think he did a marvelous job tonight and deserves to showcase his talents with someone other than INXS.

Marty- Still. Have. Goosebumps. Marty is perfect for INXS. He doesn't have the exact "look" I picture, but he just turns in one amazing performance after another. When they said he had decided to go accapella (sp) I was so nervous, but now, I can't picture that song any other way. He totally blew it away and he always seems so humble when he gets critiqued! LOVE HIM!
Deanna- I thought she did well but I didn't care for her outfit tonight.

Deanna- She really did a great job. She hasn't always been at the top of my list, but she's shown some amazing pipes lately. I'd like to see her try a few different types of songs though.

Ty- Great performer and a great song. I love hearing him sing and thought he did great with this song.

Top 3- Mig, Marty & Ty

Bottom 3- JESSICA, Brandon (cries), and maybe Deanna.

None of them blew me away last night.
Mig sounded great as usual.
Marty was okay, not on key, but I was impressed by his attempt at an acoustical performance.
Deanna's voice is just too deep for INXS.
Jordis is still my favorite female, but she didn't stand out last night.
The rest of them didn't impress me much.

As for Brooke Burke, I think she looked great. She's a beautiful girl and I sure wouldn't mind having legs like hers.

My favorites are Mig and Marty.

I like to watch JD when the other singers perform and then receive their comments from the INXS band members and Dave. JD, dude, don't ever contemplate becoming a poker player - your facial and body expressions give you away.......

Last night was the first night I actually got bored when Jordis was singing and logged onto the computer.

Suzie was ok - but I was surprised at the raves the guys [Dave & INXS] reaped upon her.

I think Mig or Marty will be the final winner. Can't see one of the women as part of INXS. I do think that this whole program is a wonderful opportunity for all of them to get national exposure. I think that they all have great futures in the music industry.

Love Jordis - she just has an awesome voice although last night was not her best performance. I just wish she'd lose the whole "predator" hair look.

JD Still creeps me out...

I think the bottom three will be JD, Jessica, Brandon.

I like this show and I've enjoyed reading all of your reviews.

My husband keeps saying that they need someone who is direct and harsh when giving the contestants feedback. What do you guys think? I think that sometimes the band lays on the compliments a little too thick! I keep hearing them say "That was the best..."

I think this show is refreshing because it's NOT trying to be the same as American Idol.

I missed the show, So i went to the site, to rehear them singing. But I don't see Jessica's performance, is that a sign? Wierd huh?

I think they should get rid of everyone except Mig, Marty and Jordis.

I noticed they were trying to do more with the lame host. Besides wearing no pants, now she makes little comments after she announces people. They had her posing with all of the contestants around her trying to get that American Idol "Seacrest" feel. She's gorgeous, but comes across very vapid.

Well you'll probably have to get in line, Dave's tongue is practicly licking the floor when he watches her.

I like how they don't get too critical, but, when they do, it's often "this style isn't what INXS is about". Unless of course the singer isn't on the top of their game (like when some of the singers just kill the song and then have horses run over the grave - thinking JD "We are the Champions".)

As for Jessica, I like her. She does do the INXS songs very well (which is why she is able to make the bottom 3 several times and keep coming back).

I liked Mig' performance - think he will be in the final two. I also liked Marty's accoustical performance.

Jessica has got TO GO TONIGHT!!!

I wondered this myself, at first, but then I thought, how would I feel if that was my DH saying that stuff, and you know what? It wouldn't bother me a bit. They're on TV--it's part of the show. It's not like I caught him hitting on someone and they were alone.

Now, on to my thoughts on last night's show:

Suzie: I was wary of her changing the arrangement of such a great song, but it definitely worked.

MiG: Why does he capitalize the G? Anyway, he blows me away more each week.. and he is impossibly sexy.

J.D.: Hmm... what to say here. I have liked some of his performances, but this did nothing for me. Plus, his attitude so turns me off that I have trouble being objective about his performances.

Jessica: I actually thought her rendition of "Come As You Are" was decent, but I do understand what INXS and Dave were saying about her lack of passion. Honestly, it seems that she has tried to take the advice about toning down the sexpot image, but, in doing so, doesn't really know what to do with herself.

Jordis: A lot have said they didn't like her this week, but I thought she did a great job. That girl can do no wrong, IMO. Love her look, love her sound... if she doesn't win, hopefully some other group will be smart enough to snatch her up. I know I'd buy her stuff. Can you tell who my favorite is?

Brandon: Great Southern rocker. INXS isn't Southern rock. I predict he'll be the next to go.

Marty: He took a huge risk by doing "Mr. Brightside" solo and acoustic, considering he is auditioning to front a band, not to be a solo act. But that risk paid off big time. Amazing.

Deanna: I think she has an amazing voice, but I'm not sure she's right for this band.

Ty: While I thought he did a great job last night, I couldn't help but think, hmm, that song choice seems a little too obvious. I still see him as singing on Broadway, not fronting a rock band--despite the mohawk.


I'm taping the show tonight so DH can see it when he gets off work.. it's so hard making myself wait until he gets home to watch it!

We were screaming here when Jessica was safe! We needed good news too! So my cousin will be leaving on Saturday. Can't believe Brandon messed up the words to an INXS song. I was also very surprised that Suzie was in the bottom 5, let alone the bottom 3. I thought she did great last night and didn't deserve that.

I was surprised that Jessica sang that INXS song so well, but I still don't like her, I knew it had to be either Brandon or her to go. Brandon is a class act and it seemed like everyone liked him. I like to watch the other performers and how they react to each other singing, and IMO JD and Jessica show no expressions at all. Mig gets into the others singing as does Marty and Jordis.
I think INXS takes that all in also.
I did like Ty's rendition of No Woman No Cry but just don't think he'll be in the top three.
They are going to have to start getting rid of some more people cause I don't think the show runs to much longer.........into Sept. maybe?

They asked Jessica, Brandon, and Deanna to stand because they were in the bottom 3 at the end of last night's show. Then they had Suzie and JD stand because they were all in the bottom 3 at some point. Ty got the encore. The bottom 3 were Suzie, Jessica, and Brandon. I think they all did well with the INXS songs. The band was very surprised that Suzie was in the bottom but she was safe. They made comments to Jessica about watching her pitch but told her she was safe. Apparantly Brandon messed up the words to their song, which in their minds was a big no-no. So he left.

Thanks for the info...........I don't know where I got the Sept. info! But I am Blonde so perhaps I have it confused with something else.....but glad to hear I have more time to enjoy this show.
