Did anyone NOT like Expedition Everest?

I found it very un-nerving, especially going backwards through most of it. It was ok, I'm glad I rode it, but I'm not in a hurry to ride it again. When we were there in June, I rode it once, DH, DS (13), and DD (11) rode it 4 times, they loved it so much.

:wave2: Did not like it. I felt like my body got thrown out of wack to much. I may do it again but not a big deal to me.

I guess I could say that I was disappointed in EE. I was expecting more. Just stopping and then going backwards in the dark is not that much of a thrill. At Kennywood park a few years ago there was a coaster that would start you out and shoot through a loop and straight up the track. The coaster would hang there for a second as gravity took over and pull you backwards down the track and back through the loop. Yes, I am a big coaster fan. I love to ride the coasters at Cedar Point. Even my dh who is not a coaster fan thought the ride to be on the tame side.

I loved EE, but I can see how it might be too much for some people, and not enough for thrill-ride lovers. It's sort of trapped in the middle of wanting to be tame and thrilling.

Then, I'd say the Imagineers are GREAT TRAPPERS!

Heh...I agree. It is an awesome ride (I didn't mean it as a negative).

For me, it's sort of the level of Test Track - a heck of a lot of fun, thrilling in parts, but not overbearing (and Test Track is arguably my favorite DW ride, period). EE is a great addition to the parks.

I really enjoyed EE. I hate roller coasters, but this one gave enough breaks with the stopping that I could regain composure. I don't like the fast and furious ones where you cannot get your breath.

I disliked it - after I rode it in the hot sun - I felt sick the rest of the day. I do not like things that go backwards. I am able to say that I go to ride it before the official grand opening.

I remember reading somewhere about a coupon for a free picture while riding EE. Does anyone have any info about this? Thanks.

hi
exactly how i felt, had to take an anti-sickness/dizziness tablet in the end. felto.k. after an hour though!

Yeah, I liked it while I was on it but as soon as I got off the ride... I felt off for about 30 minutes or so. I would go on it again, but hopefully would not feel sick again afterwards.

Fun ride, too tame for me, but the massive Yeti at the end made up for it.

I didn't like the backwards part. It made me feel queasy for a while after the ride. I am in no hurry to ride it again, once was enough.

After the first time we looked at each other and said "is that it" I think it was hyped too much for us.

The second time was great though... but it's too short!

I hated it! I hated how it made me feel sick for hours afterwards, making it hard for me to enjoy what's usually my favorite park. I wanted to like it, I really did. I'd seen the show where Joe goes to Asia to do research on the myth of the Yeti, and I saw the show where they buildt Expedition Everest. So when I got a FP, then hopped into the stand-by line of only about 30 minutes, I thought "Oh, boy-I'm gonna get to ride this twice in a row!" I was so excited. But then, it went whippy, whirly backwards, my stomach went whippy whirly, and when I got off, I handed my FP to a woman to give her DH so he could go alone, and I was shot for the day. DH was out golfing at the time, and the next day, when he went on EE by himself, I felt somewhat queasy just listening to the ride as I waited for him. I have no desire to ever do it again!

I'll start by saying I'm not a fan of roller coasters and was getting nervous seeing that huge drop, but when I got off I thought it was pretty lame. I thought it was overly hyped.

Disney has come a long, long way with roller coasters. It was a fun ride. Long on theme, short(er) on thrill. But I loved it just the same.
