Did anyone else find this to be wrong?

So I was very excited about The Dark Knight coming out on DVD, I was really really excited to see the extras and see if that had outtakes or anything that had Heath talking about making the movie.

So I go to Target today, walk to the DVD aisle and see 2 DVD's for it. One Blue Ray 2 Disc and then Non Blue Ray.

The Non Blue Ray has NO EXTRAS whatsoever.

I went over the the Electronics guy to ask him "IF I buy the Blue Ray can I play it on my regular DVD player. He said no. He said that now the new DVD's are all going to have the extras on the Blue Ray instead of the regular ones.

He then asked me if I wanted to buy a Blue Ray DVD player (as a good salesman should..however he was talking to the wrong person today) I told him that I am unemployed and I won't be buying anything of that nature in price for quite some time. He said oh well good luck with your mediocre DVD.

So I went and bought the regular DVD even though I didn't want to put I was saving some money so I could have it.

I feel like writing a letter, I mean I understand technology is moving very quickly but give me a break here. I am not upset at Target, but who would I even write a letter to about my complaint?

Uh, THERE is a special two-disc edition of the Dark Knight on regular old DVD, with extras. Target just didn't have it. Go to www.amazon.com and type in Dark Knight DVD and you'll see it there. I'm sure it's at plenty of other places as well.

I know that my DH was supposed to pick up a couple DVDs for a friend, but he didn't b/c there were 4 or 5 different things to choose from.

Forget the blue ray thing for a second but...did he actually SAY good luck with your mediocre DVD player? If so, I'd call his manager. That was rude and unprofessional!

I read online recently that blue ray isn't taking off like they wanted it to. Maybe this is one way that they are trying to make people buy them? I have no intention of buying one until I can get it as cheap as I could get a DVD player now. I'm stubborn that way.

My boyfriend saw 2 at Target (non- Blue ray) today, he bought the slightly mroe expensive one with the Batman mask shaped cover (yes, he's a big dork) but apparently that one has extras and a digital copy of the movie? I think it was $25 as opposed to $15 or $20 like the other one? Maybe there is another copy that has extras?

We have a regular DVD player but we also have a Bluray player in our playstation 3. We don't buy any bluray movies though because they cost too flippin much!

Sounds like the sales guy either didn't know what he was talking about or trying to push the sales of blue ray in a kind of underhanded way. Target's web site shows the two-disk DVD with the extras that the blue ray has. I agree with Michelle67 -- call the manager, especially if he was as unprofessional as you describe.

And not only is there still buzz about Heath for a best supporting actor nomination, there's talk about best picture and director nominations possible for "The Dark Knight" and Chris Nolan.

Target had the regular 2 disk set the case is shaped like batmans mask

Best Buy had the most fun in my opinion their 2 disk set had your choice of a Joker Thug mask or a batman mask... they also had a Joker statue that was $9.99 it was not with any DVD just on teh same display

Wal Mart came with a 2 headed coin and a comic book

K Mart had a free calender with DVD purchase

oh and around here Wal Mart was cheaper by $2 (but I bought at BestBuy anyway I needed that clown mask :rotfl: )

Our Target had a number of choices for both regular DVD and Blu-ray. I chose the box with the Batman mask. What I got excited about though was finding a special DVD set of Ironman where the case is shaped like Ironman's mask and the DVDs are inside. My son will really like that one.

I bought the Blu-Ray... because I got DH a blu-ray player for Christmas.

But if not, I'd done enough research to be annoyed that no extras were on the "simple" copy. That is usually what I buy because I don't care about the digital copy or sometimes the little books they place in them (Like the SE Batman Begins had) ... and I think it's pretty crap to have three forms of the same movie.

Try Costco. I just picked up a two disk regular DVD set with special features for about $20. There was also a special blue ray version.

OT.....I would LOVE to see Heath get the Oscar!!!!!! Seems allot talk is leaning towards Gran Torino w/Eastwood or Milk w/Penn.

I don't care how good Penn is in that movie, no way will he get the Oscar. He might be nominated, but he won't win - it's Heath's year.

Ah, but I see that he would be nominated in supporting actor?... Maybe the Academy'll just give him the Best Actor anyway.

agnes!
