So just today I realized that our arrival day late lunch ADR conflicted with the only MK Once Upon a Christmastime parade we'll be able to catch. I doubted there would be any MK ADRs available that would work for us, but there was ONE ... a 5:05 dinner at Diamond Horseshoe ... so I snagged it and will cancel our much anticipated lunch at LTT.

Please share any positive experiences at Diamond Horseshoe and/or any tips for making it as enjoyable as possible. I seem to recall that it serves the same dinner fare as LTT - which doens't really interest us - but this is a case of going with what's avaialbe last minute and making the best of it! (FWIW, we are 5 adults and three little boys.)

I hope you are aware that DHR is just overflow seating during busy periods - yes it's the same food as LTT, you are correct. There is no longer the DHR show like there used to be, which is such a bummer! I just wanted to point that out in case you were thinking it was the old DHR!

. . . There is no longer the DHR show like there used to be, which is such a bummer! . . .

1) Ah, the Diamond Horseshoe !
2) We loved that place.
. . . cute "Western" floor show with dancing, singing and jokes
. . . audience participation on and off stage
. . . snacks and sandwiches and soft drinks
. . . nicely air conditioned on a hot day
3) The labor costs became too much for WDW budget constraints.
. . . dancers
. . . comics
. . . other performers
. . . musicians
4) They shut it down with little fanfare.
5) Now, it is an overflow eatery for LTT in busy seasons.
. . . counter service and sandwiches for lunch
. . . family-style all-you-can-eat for dinner (same items as at LTT)
. . . recommended ADR's for either
6) In most cases, not worth the effort
7) WHAT A PITY to kill off such a nice attraction !!!!

NOTE: The Disneyland version is The Golden Horseshoe. They have the counter
service, but also have the floor show with "Billy Hill and the Hillbillies", bluegrass
music and comics.

Rusty and Tara ... thanks for the input ... as I mentioned in my first post we're trying to make the best of a last minute change of plans during the busiest week of the year ... so we're going in with low expectations and planning to make the best of it.

I was just hoping someone would have something positive to say to help us go in with some good vibes ... such as "this food item was pretty tasty" or "the servers were pleasant and efficient" or " the restaurant is in a good place to get to a spot for viewing the early MSEP afterwards" ... anything really. :goodvibes
