Diamond Horseshoe Question

I was online making dining reservations today and I kept seeing the Diamond Horseshoe come up as a dining location. The descriptions stated entrees were in the mid 20 to $36 range and reservations were strongly recommended.

Are they serving table service meals there now? Last I remember it was just prepackaged sandwiches and drinks but then again I have not been in there in ages. I checked the All Ears menus and it looked like what I remembered basically. Is this maybe something they are doing seasonally for free dining?

it's now used as an overflow so to speak for the liberty tree tavern, same great turkey home style dinner.

When they're open (only in busy times and/or free dining) they usually do sandwiches at lunch and the same family-style menu as Liberty Tree for dinner.

1) Ah, the Diamond Horseshoe !
2) We loved that place.
. . . cute "Western" floor show with dancing, singing and jokes
. . . audience participation on and off stage
. . . snacks and sandwiches and soft drinks
. . . nicely air conditioned on a hot day
3) The labor costs became too much for WDW budget constraints.
. . . dancers
. . . comics
. . . other performers
. . . musicians
4) They shut it down with little fanfare.
5) Now, it is an overflow eatery for LTT in busy seasons.
. . . sandwiches for lunch
. . . family-style for dinner
6) In most cases, not worth the effort
7) WHAT A PITY to kill off such a nice attraction !!!!

Thanks for the info. I agree....it was an old Disney classic and we were sorry to see it go (especially for the AC on a hot day thing it was always a great afternoon break place)....but I did not realize they were using it as an alt for LTT.

I'm glad you posted this because no one has ever been able to confirm my recollection of the place.

I was only there once in '77 when I was 15. I remember my father having to make reservations that morning as soon as we got to the MK.

I remember sitting down and I guess my mother or father getting pretty basic sandwiches on Wonder Bread wrapped in Saran wrap from a walk up window. That's all I remember besides that once you got your food you sat down and the show started.

I can see how this was not a big money maker, a dinner show for the price of a cheap sandwich, chips and a drink. Wouldn't have much turn over either.

We loved the Diamond Horseshoe on our honeymoon in 1992!!

We had a disgusting, cold turkey sandwich there last year!

I really wish they would bring back the Diamond horseshoe show!
