Aug. 2015 trip. Easywdw lists DHS as a last choice on a Friday. How bad do you think this will be for us? We are not big riders. We have no intention of doing tot or any thrill rides. I don't even care about Buzzlight year. We are going mostly for the shows and 50's Primetime. Last time we went (5 years ago), we were there about 1/2 a day and did everything we wanted. I think saw a parade and left after that. Do they still have the parade?

Thanks for the help. Other than this day, my plan is "perfect."

If your plan is to skip Tower of Terror, Rock-N-Roller Coaster and TSMM, then the crowd level won't matter. DHS is the worst park for crowd distribution. A "6" day there feels like a "10". But most of those people are all competing for space on the attractions that you will avoid. Just be prepared to get in line a little bit early for the shows (or get FPs to those that allow that option such as Beauty and the Beast and Fantasmic!), and make your ADR(s) as far in advance as possible. And if you are on the fence about doing Toy Story Mania, get a FP for it just in case. You can always toss that one back later if you want.

In all the years we have gone, we pretty much always are in the park least recommended, lol. Works for us.
Buzz Lightyear is at MK

Thanks for the replies. Those were the answers I was looking for. I didn't pay attention to the crowds charts that last time but am worried this time because of it being August.

Buzz...hmmm... I think I meant toy story mania? I don't know. I have so much Disney stuff swirling around in my head I don't know anymore.

Thanks!

When in August are you going? If you're going the last 2 weeks, the crowds won't be bad anyway.

I agree with the other posters. HS has 3 main attractions. If you're not going to go on any of them, it makes no difference how busy the parks are. As long as you keep track of the show times, you can use your FP+ for the minor attractions and there shouldn't be an issue.

Did you mean Monday rather than Friday? EasyWDW has DHS as the most recommended park for every Friday in August, but not recommended for every Monday.

Considering how much information is available real-time, there's no need to worry or guess about what it will be like.

Using the crowd charts and real-time Wait Time website will give you a much better feel about what to expect in each park then a few well-intentioned but selective-memory reports of what the wait time might have been for an attraction at 10:30am several months ago.

Using EasyWDW for crowd levels and DisneyWaitTimes.com for wait times, you could check at rope-drop or mid-day or evening and see what the actual conditions are for that crowd level in any park.

For instance, EasyWDW has today as a crowd level "3" and HS as a Not-Recommended park. Right now at 10:45am, the wait times are 75 minutes for TSMM, 70 minutes for RnRC, 30 minutes for ToT, 20 minutes for ST, etc.....

If you know what Friday in August you are going, look up the crowd level for that day. Then find another day with the same crowd level before then and use the wait time website on that day to get a "feel" for what wait times really are.
