Dhay & hubby going to AKL for race weekend for my first 5k and our first anniversary!

So I just got confirmation from the hospital that I was approved as part of the NICU Cuddler program. Meaning I will be volunteering once a week on Saturdays in the neonatal ICU basically "cuddling" all the sick and premie babies. It is actually ironic because I am not a "kid" person but oh my goodness sick babies break my heart and I would do anything to help them get well.

The main nurse is supposed to set up the training program with me but I have confirmed the Saturday 1-7pm spot. This is a very competitive volunteer program and there is always a waiting list so I am glad I was picked!!!!!

Basically I get to hug babies all day...who said volunteering was hard work???

Thanks!!!! The main reason is really about being in shape and healthy. I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer almost 4 years ago and I saw how lost my Dad was and DH and I want to have 70 happy and healty more years together.

I'm so sorry for you loss. I wish all that and more for you both.

On a health related note I lost another pound and my last biopsy came back normal so I can go back to having them annually again!!!! Yippee!!!!!

Hey just catching up. How is the program going? Did you start yet? That sounds like such a great gig, I'm off to google to see if there are similar things in the hospitals around here.
