Our first disney trip was 2yrs ago and we stayed at ASSports. Our room was facing the football field, 2nd level I think. He slept horribly due to noise levels.

We are going again this Sept, I was going to try POP this time but dh is willing to pay the extra 400-500 more for a moderate if the noise level is lower. Looking at CSR or CB. Would a standard room there be much quieter then POP?

TIA

I've stayed at POP twice and I have never had a problem with noise and I am a very light sleeper!!!

but you might want to request a room any where but around the Hippie Dippie pool!!!this is the main pool right out side of the main building but I don't think there is as much noise at POP at night

We loved CBR and the new pool will have just opened. It was quiet, its beautiful and the food court is great. Take advantage of his "openness" and try this one, you'll probably really like it. I can easily see returning there.

If I reserve a standard room vs the preferred then I'd be AWAY from the hippie dippie pool right? Thanks for the suggestion and comment

I think the CBR does look very pretty. Will my kiddos like it? POP just looks so much more fun for the kids. Also isn't CBR really big? Will we walk forever to get to bus trans? I greatly appreciate the help,

Actually, you'll likely be closer to the bus stop at CBR, there are lots within the resort, not just one. We booked standard, were put in Martinique, easy stroll to the food court, main pool area and could see the buses (not hear them) from in front of our room. There are also quiet pools in each village, so we had a pool just around the corner from our room and never heard a peep.

Its a spread out resort, but its like a collection of neighborhoods and really quiet so it does not feel BIG. The food court has plenty of seating, some of the Deluxes get low marks for their CS and the seating there.

I am not sure what is considered a standard view at POP but I know we stayed at the 50's once and the 80's both close by an VERY quiet one we stayed at in june so it was busy during the day but never had a issue sleeping.

as for CBR I have stayed here too in the farthest building from the main area so yes it was quiet but a long walk for food and there is a resort shuttle but it stops at every section so you might have a twenty some minuet ride if you need to ride back from or to the main building ( if your not big walkers or its raining ) but CBR is really nice

personally I would stay at POP if you are debating about money you could always save that money for fun stuff to do at Disney rather than the room.

I also think the kids will love the POP environment or be more stimulated by it than CBR. the adults might like CBR environment more

well thats my opinion hope this helps I'll give you any other opinion if ya need it!!!:confused3

If your DH wants sleep - then CBR would be an excellent choice. We have stayed at both CBR and POP many times and POP is so noisy. CBR is much more spread out and quiet - especially 2nd floor. By far CBR is our favorite!!!

My DS's loved CBR. Actually, I think we walked less getting to the bus at the CBR than at the WL. When we stayed at the CBR we were in Trinidad South and at the WL we had a woods view room near the otter pond.

CSR is very quiet and relaxing. Check out my CSR website below for pics and info.

Three suggestions..

1. We find the moderates to be quieter than the value resorts

2. Specifically request a room WITHOUT a connecting door

3. (If you travel party makes it possible, i.e. you and DH w/out kids OR kids in a different, non-connecting room) Request a king room; we've found these to be the least likely to have connecting doors

Oh, one last suggestion, we've also found that higher floors away from stairs are quieter.

It's difficult to get ALL of your requests met (depending on resort occupancy); I've listed our tactics most useful as #1.

Not sure how old your kids are, but mine were 7 and 5 when we went last September and they loved CBR. Keep in mind they will have a brand new pirate themed pool that is supposed to be completed by 9/15. :thumbsup2

As for size, we actually felt like we walked further at CSR.

At CBR, we were in the farthest village Trinidad South, but we found the walk to OPR to be really nice. The kids never complained. Lots of birds, turtles and other wildlife to keep them entertained. The bus stop was very convenient, a really short walk from our room. The quiet pool was also close to our room, and we heard no noise. You can't beat laying in a hammock watching your kids play on the beach. Very relaxing.

Check out the CBR information thread for all things CBR to help you with your decision. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=22755512#post22755512

Have a great trip wherever you decide.

My DH and I choose the Coronado (CSR) because of the quietness and serenity of the resort. We love Disney, but afater a long day at the parks, we love coming back to our room at the CSR and just the "quiet" of the entire resort. We enjoy taking moonlit walks around the lake at night, or just sitting on one of the benches or hammocks and enjoying the night and the beauty of the resort. We love the Dig Site pool and the quiet pools, the hot tub and the spa.

mlch, are you booked for free dining? Since you check in on rhe 20th, you can get it for your whole stay!
Yes, that is what I am planning on booking. I just hope we can get there by the 20th. That makes me think of another ?
If we book for the 20th but don't arrive till after midnight would we loose our free dining?

I stay at the values quite often and have never had an issue with noise.

The noise issues come with :

1. The main pool is located very close to some of the value rooms.

The themed pools at the mods and deluxes are set away from the rooms.

Tip: Ask for a room facing away or located a ways from the main pool.

2. Turbo toilets

The Values, AKL, & SSR are newer and have the turbo toilets.

Tip: Close your bathroom door at night because noise travels through the plumbing.

3. Connecting rooms

About 50% of the value rooms have connecting doors.

Noise will travel under the connecting doors in a room.

Tip: If you have noisy neighbors open your connecting door and place a rolled up bath towel on the floor between then close and lock your connecting door.

Some guests find that a fan or white noise machine helps them sleep better.

These tips should help you get a restful sleep wherever you choose to stay.

Have fun at Disney!

Very helpful!
I am leaning toward POP even though the others sound lovely. SInce we are staying for 9days the cost to move up to PORr or CSR is $675 more and CBR is $830 more. I'm thinking maybe that $ would be better spent on extras like the pirate cruise and shopping?:confused3

Definitely CSR! Very relaxed atmosphere and quiet.

CBR has construction going on at the main pool area until mid to late September so things could get noisy.

Good to have an idea of where to request, I'll also ask for a top floor room which had been suggested before. When do I put in a request? When I make the reservations?
