**There is no Moonlight Magic Registration thread that comes up when you search (there is one with MM) so I and others have asked our questions in various new threads. So I figured I'd start one. I'm not an expert so please correct away, add on and I will edit.**

Moonlight Magic Early Registration

I had registration questions and thought others might have the same so here's my (mostly uneducated) how to. I'm an out of town member who can't usually go.

Register via the link sent by DVC using your membership number for up to 5 people (or the number of people on your reservation).

Your room reservation should generate an email (mine was <24 hours before registration opened) with a link to registration. Starting at 11 Eastern, the queue will open. Those who were in the queue at 11 will be randomly assigned a spot in the queue, those who join after 11 will be in order after the random people.

I clicked on the email early in the day (was not available at 11 exactly) and it asked me to put in my membership number then. Every membership number gets the same spot in the queue regardless of how many windows they open. It counts down your wait for awhile and then you are taken to the registration form. The landing page says you get 5 minutes to fill out the registration form. The only thing I had to actually enter was my membership number (copy paste!); I selected myself from the dropdown and my phone and email were already filled in. I entered my party size and then confirmed some stuff and was done. I got a confirmation number on the screen and the email confirmation also came right away.

Currently there are two registration periods, general and early registration. Early registration is for those staying on a points reservation and later a general registration that is opening to everyone that qualifies for Membership Extras.

You may only register for one Moonlight Magic Event per season now.

So if we are interested in going to either of the summer events does the current system force you to choose only one to try for or can you try for both during registration and just keep fingers crossed that you'll get into one?

FAQs (2/26):

What if I am staying in a 2 bedroom?
System seems to know! It will ask how many tickets you need--I put down 6 and it was fine. (The only way to get more than 5 tickets is for a larger room reservation).

How long does it take?
An hour?

How do I know which one I'm registering for?
You select once you get to the form. If early registration, it's whichever one you have a resort reservation for. Otherwise, it shows in the queue that one or more of the events is full.

Not exactly an FAQ, but people are frequently reminded that Moonlight Magic isn't guaranteed (true) and you shouldn't make plans without getting in (false). I made my room reservation as soon as I saw the MM dates, then booked (refundable) flights. I wouldn't book something nonrefundable but as someone who has to fly, I can't wait to see if I get in to make plans--just make sure you can cancel if you only wanted to come if you got into MM!

Thank you for this and your help on my earlier post! I was going to post something like this in a later post but obviously posting something I meant to continue with 2 more posts meant my wait for DAS came up exactly then.

It generally asks you which one you would like to attend but if one sells out the system will let you know and you can register for any other event if during general registration.
