DH is home from Iraq (for a little bit)! Time to Celebrate at Disney! *ON OUR WAY!*

Hi there !! Well, I'm along for the ride, too !!

My husband is an Officer in the Army and will be leaving for his 3rd deployment sometime in May. He had Mickey call the girls and I on Christmas morning to tell us about the trip he arranged for us in June.:goodvibes We have celebrated his returns from Iraq with trips to WDW. We were thinking of doing an R&R trip there this time. If not we are going to Hawaii and staying at the MWR resort in Waikiki.

I think all your plans sound great and your ADR's sound good, too. My girls and I have been busy planning all our ADR and park days since DH is in California until the 5th. I have to admit it feels a little weird planning things like Disney knowing he's not going to be with us.

Oh and congrats on going back to finish your Masters Degree. I can't begin to tell you the classes I have taken while DH is gone so the time flies by faster, anything to stay busy.

Oh and my youngest DD 7, Lexi says that your dog is the CUTEST dog ever !!

My hubby and I will be in WDW the same time as you guys! 4/20-4/28! We are staying the first night at Pop and then over to AKL for the 4/3 deal :cheer2: I'm so happy for you guys that you are getting to spend some time together and that your hubby is safe. Have a wonderful trip!

I am planning to order the Daisy shirt and Donald one too. How did they run size wise?

LOVING your PTR!!!:cool1: :cool1: You and your husband deserve such a magical vacation. The WL is so gorgeous and has a great location. Subscribing so I can read along with all of your plans!:cool1:

Off to check Disneyshopping.com!:laundy:

Oh, I wish I didn't have to work too! Although I can't complain too much since I'm on the Dis anyway ;)

It sounds like you've had lots of good Disney news this month. (Except maybe that Space Mountain will close right before you go) Hope you get all the ADR times you want!

Oh, you posted pics since I hit reply! Aww, who doesn't love doggies and Christmas in April? :goodvibes

Isn't it nice to have a job where you can check the DIS?! I'm not going to lie I did it alllllll the time! LOL!

I love the pictures! Your doggie is tooo cute! I am loving your plans!! I can't wait to hear more! Gettig so excited for your trip and for your husband to be home for a little bit!

We just love our Violet. Although, right now she's being a big whiner! She wants to go O-U-T! Gah!:sad2:

Congrats on being done work! :cool1:

We're doing Le Cellier for lunch too. I tried to get dinner, but they didn't have anything earlier for us. I think it's usually easier to get an ADR for lunch there.

Love the pictures. :goodvibes

I checked out Le Cellier's lunch menu and it was mostly the same. I think it will suit us just fine. I didn't want to be sitting down to dinner each and every night we were there!

Glad you're here! How nice of your DH to plan a trip for you! :cheer2: It's so nice to know who who have survived and thrived through other deployments. It really does help me get through the rough days knowing so many other women have done it!

Isn't that the best deal?! Will you being a LGMH!? I'll keep an eye out for you in the parks! :) I am hoping we miss the Spring Break rush. Touringplans.com lists the crowd levels as 5's and 6's so here's to hoping!

I am planning to order the Daisy shirt and Donald one too. How did they run size wise?

I think they fit pretty true to size. I think I got mediums for both of us. I ordered a small once and it was just a bit too snug!

That site gets me in trouble! I just wish their shipping wasn't so expensive! It gets me every time!

Wellllllll...I woke up at 6:30 this morning to make my ADR's and woke up to this:

Violet is driving me CrAzY :hyper: to go out!!! She just LOVES the snow!

IMG_1960.jpg

She would sit outside all day!

Alright so for the ADR's!
I got everything I wanted! :cool1: The CM on the phone wasn't too exciting though. I was a bit disappointed....Perhaps it had something to do with it being 7:00 am....:coffee: But there definitely wasn't much pep in her step! Lame-o!
I can't complain though! I got all the ADR's I wanted! :) I won't re-type everything since I just typed it out above, but I am super excited about how things worked out!

Now it's time to prepare for a great day in the history of our country! :cheer2:

Woohoo for getting all of your ADRs! :cheer2: You didn't make your Raglan Road ADR through them, did you? We have to call them directly, correct?

I can't believe how much snow you have! Even the southern states have had more snow than us this year. We had a small amount yesterday, but never enough to really play in.

And yes, today is a great day for our country! :thumbsup2

I was able to make our Raglan Road ADR right through Disney Dining without a problem! I have the confirmation #! :)

Enjoy today! WAHOO!!!:thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Congrats on getting all your ADR's !! I have to wait til March to make ours because we fell under the new 90 day system. DH said had he known all the changes he would have at least told me early so I could have secured a couple of the hard ones. It's probably better that he didn't though because I would have been on pins and needles waiting for Mickey to call. :rotfl:

It's so weird I had a dream that we woke up to snow, which isn't happening here in El Paso !! But, I guess I kinda did after looking at your pictures ;)

And as far as surviving, you can do it !! Trust me, if I have survived all the time DH has been gone anyone can do it. AND it never seems to fail that SOMETHING, ANYTHING, or EVERYTHING happens once he leaves. Trips to the ER, measles, the washing machine flooding the laundry room, etc. But hey, I have learned that I can do it without him. I might be bald by the time he comes home, but at least everything's okay :rotfl:

Not much longer and you'll be there !! Sorry for rambling, I think I have had enough coffee for the morning :upsidedow

Small world! DH was in El Paso for OBC in 2006! Youe hubby isn't ADA is he??!:scratchin

Cool for your ADRs! Yipee! That just gets me sooo excited! I am lazy so my TA does all of mine.:lmao: She did send me and e mail yesterday to let me know we are eating at CRT...surprise for my DD!:cool1:

LOVE the pics of you and the pup. She is soooo cute!

WOW! You got a lot more snow than we did! We barley got 1" and it is pretty much gone now. But the kids went out and played...so they were happy.

No, he's not ADA and we've been stationed here TWICE, LOL !! He's actually Ordnance. We like it here, it's not bad, but we would have loved to have been stationed somewhere new.

Oh and I was going to suggest that if you have time when you stop in Savannah to head down to Paula Deens !! We were stationed at Stewart and used to head to Savannah and Tybee Island almost every weekend, LOVED it !!

I was just read this thread:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2066134

and it sounds like MK has made some changes to the way things work with flag retreat. Anyone know if Brad is right? That would make things much more difficult to get DH in on this. :( I would so love for him to have the opportunity!

I guess it would make sense with all the added military in the parks because of the new offer, but bummer!

Alright...I was posting in the Resorts board, and I happened to look at my ticker....

:hyper: :cheer2: :cool1: HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 MONTHS, 4 WEEKS and a few days!!!!!!! :hyper: :cheer2: :cool1:

Oh man....10 months ago that day seemed years and years away....I was teling to DH last night and I told him I don't even know what I'll do when I see him. I am sure I'll be a blubbering mess when I see his face after a year and a few days come April! So attractive, right? :rotfl:

Just had to share with someone because I am bouncing around the house right now! WAHOO!!!!:upsidedow

First off, not much longer.....YIPPEEEE for you !! And I must say 12 months is a long time, you GO GIRL !! The longest we have been apart without seeing each other is 8 months, because he came for R&R earlier than we expected so he could trade place with 2 of his soldiers whose wives were expecting.

About the flag ceremony, I would just check when you get there. I'm not sure if you can call or email in advance but that might be an option as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that he gets to do it.

Hope you're having a great day :flower3:

Oh, I am so excited for you!!!:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :grouphug:

The pictures of Violet are so adorable! I have a Chow Chow who just looooves the snow, so I know how it is! And wow, you got quite a bit of it!

I checked out Disney shopping and got all excited but you're right about shipping... it would have cost me $35 to ship four t shirts!! Ouch.:scared: I decided to pass on them since the shipping was almost double our order cost. They sure are cute though!

Hey Meghan, I just wanted to let you know I mailed your package yesterday. Hope your hubby enjoys it.

I hope you're able to sign him up for the flag ceremony. It sounds like it will be a little bit more difficult with the changes they've made, but hopefully it will work out. That ticker is getting closer!!:cool1:

You are too sweet! :thumbsup2 :cheer2: Thank you!!! I was just pulling together some things to put in it today! I am sure he will love it! He's easy to please! ;)

So I've been trying to figure out what to put in DH's 'Valentine's Day/Get Ready for Disney' care package....It's starting to warm up again over there so no chocolate, and I need to get it in the mail soon since I'll be spending the month of February at home in Michigan, I want to get it out in the mail soon!

Well today, I thought I'd give something a whirl and see how it turned out...AND......

WAHOO!!! THEY TURNED OUT!!! :yay: DH is soooo spoiled! :upsidedow
