DH is home from Iraq (for a little bit)! Time to Celebrate at Disney! *ON OUR WAY!*

Congrats on going back to get your Master's. And I dont think you are crazy for quitting your job. I quit mine in April and went to my sisters to watch her baby over the summer and then moved back to my parents in Sept. Now I do have to find a job while DH finishes his time in England.so we shall see how that goes. Best of luck and hope you get the assignment after ft bragg that you want.

I have had an overwhelming positive response from outher military spouses. I think they know more than anyone that it's more important to spend time with your family when your DH is in the military. I am SO glad I made this decision. Good luck finding a job!! I'm sure something will work out! We were just talking about our top three posts (after Fort Benning for the Career Course) and we're thinking Fort Carson, CO, Fort Lewis, WA or Fort Richardson, AK (sooooooo far from WDW!)!

Congrats on deciding to finish your Master's. What are you getting it in - if you don't mind me asking. Just think, you'll be closer to WDW when you are at Ft. Benning - ;)

Thank you! I'm not sure quite yet, but I am leaning towards a Masters of Higher Education. I know an MPA or an MBA would diversify me well, but I just am not that interested in it since I already have an undergrad in PA. We shall see! I have to take the GRE first! Yuk!

congrats on quitting your job! I quit mine on December 15, and I love the feeling :goodvibes

Good Luck on your masters!

Thank you! It is a great feeling isn't it!? I have 4 more days in the office and then I am DONE!!! :cool1:

Love your report so far!

We have driven to Disney from Myrtle Beach, SC and it took us 7 hours, it really isn't bad to do at all.

Love the picture of your DH on the camel. My DH is deployed now and that was one of the lst. things he did was the camel ride on his birthday!

DH was more excited about his 20 seconds of glory on the camel than he has been about anything this entire deployment! He's such a goof! Hope your DH's deployment goes by as quickly as ours is! I'll keep you both in my prayers!

I was watching SNL tonight, and a WDW commercial came on about, 'what will you celebrate?'. Well, I got to thinking about everything this upcoming trip means for us, and before it was over I had tears in my eyes. I cannot WAIT for this trip because well obviously it's Disney and I will FINALLY see DH after an entire year! I am so stoked!!! I am finally allowing myself to really get excited about all of this, and now I am just beyond! In less than 4 months I will see DH and we'll be at our favorite place! I cannot wait!!!  :cloud9:  WAHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

I also wanted to see if any of you had a chance to look at our plans and make any suggestions. How do our meals look? I am antsy about using the DDP for the first time so if you have any stories or pointers to share that would be great! We're planning to bring breakfast still so we can really use our snack as a snack in the parks. What about ordering a cake? Have any of you done that before? I am really thinking about ordering one for DH the night we eat at Artist Point.

January 20 is just around the corner and I can't wait to make our ADR's. Then things will really seem real!

I'm also going to start pulling together a small 'get excited about R&R and Disney' package for DH. I wanted to print off little cards with the 60 day countdown on them. Any other ideas? I can't do anything too expensive or over the top since he'll need to throw away or send home anything I send him.

We've had the fish 'n chips at the Yorkshire Fish Shop in the UK and they were very good. Haven't eaten at Sommerfest, but we're thinking of doing that this time around.

I've already mentioned how much I love Raglan Road!

My birthday happens while we're at WDW and we're going to eat at 'Ohana for my birthday dinner. I thought about a cake, but I know I'll be so full! Plus, they already have a great dessert that comes with the meal.

How long does it take things to get to your dh? What about ordering the special personalized maps from Disney and sending those to him? I'm not sure they still do them, but if so it might be a nice addition to your package.

I went to Michaels yesterday and they had stocking stuffers that were like 60 cents. So even if you got 6 dollars worth of them it wouldn't hurt for him to throw them away. They had some cute Disney things!

Oh man! I was just at PetSmart next door to our Michael's this afteroon! Guess I need to head back that way tomorrow! ;) Thanks for letting me know!

I leave for Disney in 5 days. I'd be happy to pick you up some park maps and send them to you. I don't know if you would have enough time to send them on to your DH or not. Just let me know.

Only three days left in the office! :yay: :yay:

I am SO ready to be done! The Disney touring plans and ADR plans are burning a hole in my pocket! I cheated yesterday and printed off the Touring Plans Cheat Sheets, Touring Plans for Adults, and WDW Park Hours for our trip from the office. Friday morning I am going to take over the kitchen table and plan it ALL out!

I was talking with DH about it yesterday and asking him what he's most excited about for our trip. Topping his list:

- Soarin' of course!
- Raglan Road for a Guinness!
- Spaceship Earth since it was closed for our last trip
- The Safari - his favorite

I am going to have to load up some photos of our past trips and some of the things I have for DH for the trip. Its getting a bit boring here without photos! :)

Here's a few pictures for your PTR! :goodvibes

Nice, I'm also excited and happy for the both of you. 3 months is not that long to wait, right? :rotfl: May you have a romantic trip

Have a safe trip coming. :)

Hey Meghan,
Just checking in to say Hi  . It sounds like your DH is just as excited as you. That's great. :thumbsup2 I've made me a list of things to pick up for you. I hope I can find some good stuff.

You are so sweet! Hope your trip is a blast!!! :)

WELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL......for those of you who were tracking it, I am done at work!! WAHOO!!! :cool1: :cool1: It still hasn't quite sunk in that this isn't just a normal weekend, but so far, I am loving it! And our furbaby is too! :)

Tomorrow opens our ADR window so I think I finally have things settle. I have to touch base with DH today, but I am sure he'll say, 'sure that sounds great!' when I ask for his input. He is so accommidating! Lol! :rotfl: He knows when it comes to WDW he needs to just go with the flow!

So here are the plans I've made:

Sun, Apr 19
Since we've decided to drive, I think we're going to stop in Savannah on the 19th. Since the 19th is a Sunday, Violet will have to go to the vet on the 18th (shhh...she doesn't know yet...;)). This will allow us to get up and go on the 19th. Savannah is about 4-5 hours from here so we can get up and be there by early afternoon. This way we can have a nice dinner, explore the area, and get to bed early so we can get on the road early.

Mon, Apr 20
Hopefully, we can get up and on the road around 8:00 am so we can be to WDW around noon. This way, we can spend the afternoon at MK before returning for....
Dinner at Artist Point...I am thinking an ADR around 5:30 would still allow us time to get back to MK for Wishes and Spectro.

Tues, Apr 21
We'll spend the morning at Epcot riding our fav ride, Soarin! among others, and hopefully we can get a noon-ish ADR at Le Cellier. I debated doing dinner here, but I don't want all of our TS meals to be dinner. I want to have some nights free to do what we want. We'll head back to WL midday for a nap/swim/break, and then we'll spend the afternoon/evening at MK.

Wed, Apr 22
Today we'll spend the morning at AK on DH's other fav ride, the Safari. We keep dreaming about working at WDW when he retires, and he wants to drive the Safari truck. I figure his knowledge of Humvees and LMTV's (big Army trucks!) will give him an advantage! :lmao:
But I digress....After exploring AK we'll head back to WL to get ready for our special dinner at Cindy's! We have a 5:20 ADR. We had a great experience having dinner here for our honeymoon, and we are hoping for more of the same. Then we'll spend the evening once again at MK.

Thurs, Apr 23
Now we'll head over to Studios for the morning. I am very excited for DH to try out TSMM. I think he really willlove it! We will also spend the evening at Epcot, but no ADR's for today. I am thinking about hitting up the Fish Shop or Summerfest, but we shall see. I think I'll leave this one up to DH. Or perhaps we'll just drink around the world!

Fri, Apr 24
YAY!!! BOMA day!!!!
We'll spend the morning at MK hitting up the biggies, but not Space. :(
I am hoping we can get a 6:00ish ADR at Boma so we can see the 4:00 Jammin Jungle Parade and then head to AKL. I think DH will really love this meal. I know we both love to try new things so I think this will be a huge hit!

Sat, Apr 25
We're still hoping to spend the day with DH's good friend, Marshall, but we won't know until much closer to the trip. Regardless, we've decided to do a no park day for this day. I told DH we can explore some of the Orlando area and some of the lesser known WDW area. I also snuck into the conversation that we could hit up the outlets for a little bit too.... ;) ;)
I plan to make an ADR for the three of us at Raglan Road regardless of whether Marshall is able to join us or not. I think it will be good for us to slow down and just enjoy the night. This won't be part of our DDP, we'll just pay out of pocket for this meal.
Oh, and I forgotto add, we're going to do Kona for breakfast this day as well. I think a 9:30ish ADR would allow us time to sleep in a little bit and make the short trip to Poly.

Sun, Apr 26 and Mon, Apr 27
No ADR's from here on out. We will take the last two days to do what we would like and enjoy our time together.

Vi and I took a few photos for DH, and I just had to share a few photos of my baby and me! :)

Now for DH's Christmas haul that is waiting patiently in the spare bedroom for his return! :)

THanks for the $4 (or is it $5) tees from Disneyshopping.com, I was able to get a few tees for DH and me.

Won't we be too cute in these?!

Oh, I wish I didn't have to work too! Although I can't complain too much since I'm on the Dis anyway ;)

It sounds like you've had lots of good Disney news this month. (Except maybe that Space Mountain will close right before you go) Hope you get all the ADR times you want!

Oh, you posted pics since I hit reply! Aww, who doesn't love doggies and Christmas in April? :goodvibes

I love the pictures! Your doggie is tooo cute! I am loving your plans!! I can't wait to hear more! Gettig so excited for your trip and for your husband to be home for a little bit!

Congrats on being done work! :cool1:

We're doing Le Cellier for lunch too. I tried to get dinner, but they didn't have anything earlier for us. I think it's usually easier to get an ADR for lunch there.

Love the pictures. :goodvibes
