Glad you're all caught up! Believe it our not, the rice krispie treats made it over to Iraq really well! DH said they were a huge hit with the guys and they were really soft still. I was so glad he liked them!

I feel that I am in a bit of a rut with planning at the moment. The trip is so close but still so far away...

I've made the ADR's, the touring plans are almost done, and we've made our travel arrangments...Now what? Am I forgetting anything? Any advice from here on out?


DH and I have been discussing our no park day (Sat, Apr 25) plans. We are unsure if our friend will be able to come to Orlando or not. (Thank you US Army for so kindly NOT allowing us to make plans more than a few days in advance!) We have ADR's for breakfast at Kona at 9:30 and dinner at Raglan Road at 7:00.

Having the a later breakfast at Kona allows us to sleep in for a bit (DH is thrilled!), and then we can embark on our day in Orlando. I really want to go to the Outlets for a bit and see what they have, and then we're are talking about using our mini-golf voucher. Any suggestions on the golf course to go to Winter/Summerland or Fantasia Gardens?

Then we'll head to DTD for dinner and a bit of shopping, and hopefully make it to WL in time to catch the Electric Water Pageant. We missed it on our honeymoon, and I just think it's such a fun thing to see.


I am a bit anxious because this will be our first time driving down. I am assuming WDW has good signage on property and it's relatively easy to get around??? We're planning to use the buses most of the time we're there except for our no park day, so I'm thinking we won't have too much of a problem.

Don't get me started on the military right now!

I've heard Winter/Summerland is the better of the two golf courses (and the easier one I believe), but I haven't been to either myself.

I CAN START DH's COUNTDOWN!! WAHOO!!!! Andddd.....less than 60 days and DH will be home...Holy cow!!!

I talked to DH's friend about meeting in Orlando on Saturday of our trip, and it sounds like he's still trying to make it work. If that's the case, I think we'll have to cut out the mini golf and Raglan Road...and... ...the outlet mall. He wants to take us water skiing (eek! ) since his sister and BIL that live there are apparently semi-pro or something like that. I'll be happy to be out on a lake in the sun, but we'll leave the skiing to DH. I am bummed about missing Raglan Road, but it will still be nice to see our friend. I figure we could still possibly keep the ADR too, and I don't have to cancel it until we get there.

I think that's about the only update for now. Once I get back to NC, I'm going to start packing a bit. I plan to have as much packed as possible so we don't have to spend time packing when DH gets home.

Now we just have to pray, pray, pray that DH gets home on time. So far, almost everyone has come home on time, but those held up due to weather got held back at least a few days. That could be big trouble for our trip! DH keeps telling me not to think about it so I'm trying not to!

I am a proud army Mother in law!! I love the care packages you send your hubby! My daughter and I have a lot of fun sending them to Travis also!!
We are planning (and in the process of adr's right now) a trip May 13-June 1st for R&R!!!!! We "think" Travis will be there on May 16th, but you know the army!!! We had planned our trip for May 1 thru the 13th, but then had to change it due to the army changing his R&R dates.
Your plans sound awesome!! This is Travis's second deployment and his sons (3 and 1) are missing him terribly! He has never been to disneyworld, so this should be a super trip!!!
We are doing the counter service plan at AKV and OKW and then deluxe dining for 9 nights at SS!! We are also doing the illuminations cruise for my daughter and son in laws anniversary. (My anniversary gift to them).
Looking forward to more of your plans and more pictures of Violet!! I grew up with my aunts bassett named Buckaroo!! He was an awesome dog!!
Love bassetts and beagles!! They're the best!!
Just curious. Did you check into the sweetheart dinners? I don't know all the details of them, but I think they are at the signature restaurants and have a shared dessert.

Sounds like you all have some great plans! An Illuminations Cruise is something I've always wanted to do so please share your thoughts after the fact!
I did read up on the signature dinners a little bit, but for this trip, I decided the dining plan was a good idea. I'm looking forward ot taking DH to Boma and Artist Point, and I of course love the castle dinner! I figured that was plenty for this trip!

I was surfing the DIS today, and I realized it has been ages since I last posted. Between my trip to Michigan, and taking over the FRG I've been crazy busy the past few weeks. Thank goodness for that because it helps pass the time, but it leaves little time for things like my DIS PTR!

I am still in SHOCK that in just 44 short days we will be at WDW and in less than 40 DH will be in my arms again!!!

My neighbor and I were talking today about how incredible it is to watch them walk off the plane after not seeing them for so long. She said it is like nothing else she has ever experienced. She said she was so anxious she was nearly sick to her stomach, but when she finally say her DH she pushed past the gate guards and the ropes and jumped into his arms. It's something I've played over and over and over again in my head, but I know that it won't even compare when the time finally comes!

Since all of our ADR's and touring plans are set, now it's time to start packing and plug in some other last minute plans. I've started pulling all of our Disney shirts out of the closet, and picking up some odds and ends like ponchos.

I was reading over the Flower and Garden Festival activities, and there are some garden tours I might like to see. My dad is a landscape designer, and I've picked up some of his gardening. I am really looking forward to seeing all of the topiaries and vibrant colors!

I've been sending DH his countdown fact of the day, and I think he's really enjoying it. It's just a quick fun thing to bring a smile to his face. I've been sending the fact and a photo of the feature ride, park, etc.

That's pretty much it for now! Just thought I'd type up a quick update while I had it on my mind. Thanks for sticking with me! Eventually, I hope some of you join me for our TR. It might take me awhile to get that up since we'll be planning for DH's homecoming at that point, but I'll get it up eventually!

Not too much is new around here, but I thought I would update again since it's been awhile.

Actually, this has been a rather crummy week since I broke my toe today . Awesome way to start my one month countdown to Disney tomorrow...GREAT! It is one of my small toes so that is a good thing, but it's just sucky because it hurts and there's nothing they can do for it. I've also been walking 3-4 miles a day to get in share for DH coming home and for Disney. Guess this will put a stop to that for awhile.....

My thumb drive that contains all of my Disney information also broke this week....Well I should say, I broke it... That's what I get for being lazy and not getting up and moving the computer off the floor when I was vacuuming. Of course, I don't have any of my documents on their backed up either. Thankfully though, I think I have almost everything loaded on Touring Plans so that's a good thing! Phew! Now let's hope I took the time to put the ADR's in there too....

On a happy note, we only have ONE MONTH until our trip!!!!

I've started packing a few things and pulling out the summery clothes! yay!! Thank God for Old Navy and their incredible deals. I've been able to pick up some great things for DH and me at such great prices. Now if only they carried petites in store I'd be all set....

My mom will be down the first week of April so she will be here just before DH gets home. I am so glad she is coming to visit! It will be so nice to have her here to help me get ready and to help keep me sane! We are going to put out the little Christmas tree, hang stockings, put out the presents I've been saving for DH, make a cake and of course, some more rice krispie treats. I will also stock the fridge and cupboards with DH's favorite food, snacks, treats, and of course BEER!!!!

OH! And for my birthday, DH got me one these darling handheld videocamera.

I am so excited! It just came in the mail today. DH had it shipped to him in Iraq and he took some videos of himself and his friends for me before he shipped it over here. He's so sweet!

I happened to look you up today because I enjoyed reading your Trip Report last year and I knew that you'd be going back with your hubby when he came home. So I bet you are just too elated right now!

We will be at the World 4/19 - 4/21. We are only going down for my DD birthday - those park tickets are just too darn expensive! I'm hoping we might be able to go in August as well!!!!!!!!!!!1

DH IS ON HIS WAY HOME!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!! My heart is in my throat and my stomach is down in my feet! Holy cow am I excited, anxious, you name it!!!!!

He will make it home one year and three days after he intially deployed. I still can't believe it has been a year!

We had some problems with his date changing and at one point we were almost going to be late for our trip, but God was watching over us and he is getting home earlier than expected. DH will have a full week at home before we head to WDW.

Well I won't keep yaking since he will be here within a few hours! HOLY COW!!!!!! I STILL can't believe it!!!

Hopefully I'll be able to post homecoming photos from the airport soon!!!
