DFTW August 28 Open House

On facebook Disney Fairy Tale Weddings said that they were going to hold an open house type affair at the wedding pavilion and francks from 10-1 on Aug 28th. Does anyone know anything about this or have you gone to one of these before? I think I'm going to go down and attend! I'm currently waiting for a consultant to call me back to set up a site visit for the same time too!!!

This is the first I've heard about it - but it might be worthwhile to take a weekend trip for it.

I wonder if they will have prices for 2011 by then?

Supposedly there will be food and cake to sample, you'll be able to talk to different people in the wedding planning process, and they'll be giving away prizes. Sounds like fun!

I have heard of these. I have not attended any. I just recently started looking into a DFTW and live in New York. I would love to attend the one in August.

Thank You for posting this information, I am trying to plan a site visit for October but I wonder if I can try and sneak there for that weekend so I can get a better idea. Just don't know if it's something you have to register for first?

I'm not sure if you have to register. They do refer to it as an "open house" so I am assuming you can just show up. I am planning to do a site visit at the same time because I'm from out of state and currently I'm waiting for a sales consultant to call me. If I remember, I'll ask her if you need to register for it or not.

I went last year to their open house in November. (What good timing as we got engaged during the trip). I did not register before hand. I just showed up and they had me sign in and got to walk around Francks and take photos. They did have cake to sample but I didn't try any. I spoke to someone from DFTW and got contact information. I think you could also go to the wedding pavilion to look. I wasn't there for more than 30 minutes total. I was glad I went to check it out though!

When I called DFTW on Friday the girl who answered the phone didn't know anything about it.

I'm hoping to call tomorrow to see if I can get more info on the open house in August.

Be sure when you get to the main gate of Walt Disney World you tell them you are going to the wedding pavilion, that way you don't have to pay the $14 for parking at the magic kingdom. They just wave you right through.

I contacted DFTW and they confirmed that it is on for August 28th - no registration required. They also said they are still ironing out the details.

My friend & I are planning on going! Already made resort reservations, now need to make flight reservations.

DF and I are going to book a trip to Orlando during that week so we can go to the open house. I think it sounds like a lot of fun as well as help give us ideas for our wedding planning. While there it would be a good time to try and do a site visit and get our e-pics done. Hopefully the photographers and site visit will be available. Guess I better book those this week!

Do anyone know what kind of door prizes they give away? It would be nice it is something you can use for your wedding or honeymoon in Disney.
