There was a thread back in October about DTW hotels offering stay, park & fly deals. I found a lot of very useful information on that thread. Our local paper has been running ads for both HoJo (on Middlebelt) at $75/night and the Park Inn ($79/night) including a week's parking. The Park wasn't discussed on the previous thread, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with either hotel. We're flying out in September. Many thanks.

Ramada Inn has a park & fly option as well. You spend one night and receive up to 7 days free parking at a gated facility immediately behind the hotel. Shuttle service from Ramada delivers you and your luggage to the airport and back on your return. You can book it with the Detroit Ramada (Romulus, actually) or by calling the 800 number and asking for the park & jet option.

Fairfield Inn also has a discounted park & fly option. The hotel is, obviously, less expensive and so the option it offers is simply at discount at the major parking lot just across the street from it. The Mariott next door to Fairfield has a park & fly option, too but I'm not sure if it is also a discount or a free parking offer.

I would bet that most of the hotels around the airport offer a park & fly option if you call. Oh yeah, if you're a DC holder--ask for an "Entertainment Club" discount--Ramada wasn't listed as offering such a discount but we asked and got one there on our stay last year!

Good Luck!

Mikej : We stayed at the Ramada in 99(myself,Daughter,my mom,and neice)non of us cared for it much. We did the stay and park and got a AAA discount. In 2000 DH and myself stayed at the Marriott(by the fairfeild and courtyard) and did the park and stay. The beds were alot more comfortable then the Ramada and both cost about the same. I don't recall exactly how much we paid at the Mariott but included in the price were 8 days parking and it was under 100.00.I also used gift certificates earned at rewards programs. My husband dropped me off at the Marriott and while i checked us in he parked the truck and got a ride back to the Marriott. On the return home a parking lot bus picked us up at the Airport and took us to our truck. Of course we couldn't hardly find our truck as Michigan had a huge snow storm while we were gone. My DH said if we ever fly during the winter months again we would park in the parking garage(lol). The Ramada Inn (formerly a Sheraton) was undergoing major renovations in 1999 (and before). Last summer it still wasn't complete, but we were basically looking for a place to sleep that had an indoor pool for the kids AND wasn't very expensive. The Ramada fit that bill for us on several occasions, but it wouldn't be a "destination" hotel, if you know what I mean. It also has a rather jaded history and could be kind of creepy. Frankly, there isn't a hotel (save the airport Mariott--which, as I recall and may be wrong, doesn't have a pool???) that I would make a "destination" in that area.

We have stayed at the Fairfield Inn for a cheap sleep and the kids really liked it--the pool is outdoor, but "thermal" and they managed to swim despite temps in the 60s--brrrr. . .not me!
