I'm on the regular DDP. I have a 4:15 at Mama Melrose on Dec 15. We're planning to go to a 6:30 Fantasmic show, but it's NOT a F! Dining Package.

My question is this:

Suppose that we get seated late, or dinner takes a while, or the park is more crowded then we anticipated...

Can we get our dessert to go?

I've never heard of anyone having a problem getting a dessert to go, and have done so myself successfully.

We take dessert to go quite often. Dh isnt a big sweets fan so I eat his later in the evening while Dd is going to bed.

We took desserts to go several times on our last trip in Dec. '09. In our case, we ate one there and got one to go because it was too much food. When ordering dessert, we just asked which was the best to get to go and went with the CM's recommendations. I know we got something from Rose & Crown and from Le Cellier we got the Moose Mousse, which the CM described as "migrating well." ha! They were great for breakfast the next morning.

We've done the DDP 5 times now and have taken many desserts to-go. The only bummer is that you can't take anything with ice cream to-go. Well, you can, but it won't be very good!

I like the idea of eating one dessert and then taking one to-go for a late night, or early morning snack.:thumbsup2

We've also taken some leftovers but what we do more of is share meals. That way we have room to eat dessert while at the restaurant. Of course, when DDP inc. appetizers, this was more of an issue.;)

This was our experience in 2006. Doesn't seem to happen everywhere, and this is old now, but you never know.

That makes absolutely no sense. What are they gaining with that sort of policy? They save the cost of a $0.05 box?

I had desert to-go at Le Cellier and Yak & Yeti. No issues, though the cake from Le Cellier got smashed before I had a chance to eat it. Still tasted good. :)
