After coming home from the grocery store and buying stuff from the deli, do you leave them in those plastic bags or do you transfer them to something else?

I HATE the deli bags.

I used to have a piece from Tupperware that was a three tiered storage container but I found that it didn't work for me.

Any other ideas out there?

I will usually buy a pound of both american and provolone. Plus anywhere from 1/2 lb to a full pound of 1-2 different deli meats.

I just leave them in the deli bags and if they happen to be ripped I put them in a ziplock. I NEVER keep/eat coldcuts after 2 days anyway so after 2 days the coldcuts and the bag just gets tossed if there are any leftover.

I usually keep them in their deli bag and then toss the deli bag into a gallon sized ziplocked bag.

I keep it in the bags and just put it in the fridge. I also eat it for more then a couple of days and usually have it all week. Been fine. No issues.

Why? We keep coldcuts in our fridge all week long, they never go bad. Seems like you are wasting a lot of money, no?

I don't buy more deli meat than we can eat in 3 days. The stuff with no preservatives tends to start getting slimy after that.

I just leave it in the deli bag... it seems that it is gone about as quickly as it comes into the house.

Same here..if I buy a larger amount than I can use in a week or so, I put it in freezer Ziploc bags and freeze for a week or 2

I don't buy lunch meat that often and when I do it is used up in a day or 2 so I just leave it in the bag.

Exactly- it gets slimy and the turkey/chicken starts tasting gamey. I would rather go every 2-3 days to the store than eat 3 day old cold cuts.

Maybe you just have better luck than me. I buy boars head products and after 3-4 days they're past their prime imo. I'd rather toss a few slices of roast beef than risk intestinal issues.

I pass 3 grocery stores on my way home from work so stopping for more cold cuts if necessary isn't a big deal.

I have a tupperware cold cuts container. It's a long, shallow, white rectangle with a red lid. For a block of cheese I have a "cheese safe". It's a 2 piece sectioned plastic container. The bottom section slides into the plastic garage. Lol this sounds ridiculous. Anyway I bought it at Target on clearance years ago & I use it every week.

I only buy boars head as well and have never had it go bad within a few days. Not slimy or past their prime in any way.

I keep them in the ziplock bags they come in. If I buy on Sunday, I try to use up by Thursday since it doesn't taste as fresh.

I usually keep deli stuff in the plastic bag from the grocery store. Seems to me after 3-4 days the quality deteriorates. I don't necessarily think it will make me ill, it just seems to lose some flavor.:)

I agree- and so does Boars Head!

How long do your deli meats stay fresh in the refrigerator?
A
Our products are minimally processed. In order for you to enjoy optimum flavor, we recommend that you do not purchase more product than you can consume within three days.

Can your products be frozen?
A
We do not recommend freezing our meats and cheeses. Freezing affects both texture and flavor.
