We were deayed by 7 hours leaving Birmingham in January, we also missed out connection and every connection that night at Newark. We couldn't get a hotel (it was when Newark was shut down for a security scare) there were thousands of people stranded so the hotels were full. We were put on standby for the 7am flight. Continental will dsort you out it will be ok.
