The party who was the party of the reformers, the party who was to clean up government.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

They are "cleaning up", all right.

I don't blame them nearly as much as I blame those who voted for them. Why is it that people will vote for anyone just because they "claim" to be "Christian" or "moral" ? Didn't Jesus himself warn to be wary of such individuals and pay more attention to their actions than words? We could only hope that in the coming elections, folks will be more cautious in their choices.

Personally, I think there should be representative and senate term limits. Both should be changed to a six year term, with a two term limit, electing 1/3 of each every two years...that will give continuity to both houses of congress, yet still limit the number of years those rascals can serve.

One out of four has been found guilty. No one else has even had a trial but isn't this just so typical of our liberal friends.

Why do you get pleasure out of our elected leaders getting into trouble? That's pretty strange.

You obviously were not on the DIS Boards during the Cinton years. This is mild in comparison to the orgasmic Clinton bashing that was done. I guess my point is Clinton bashing was a sport in this country for 8 years. Why are you surprised that some Democrats are engaging in some "neener neener neener" moments.

It's the "I told you so" syndrome. The Republicans aren't so perfect after all.

And...told you so! ;)

And who said Republicans are perfect? When someone gets caught for a crime, they should be punished. It's not that complicated. I don't remember anyone saying Republicans are incapable of commiting a crime.

You are incorrect. This is not mild in comparison to the Clinton bashing. This is very similar to the Clinton bashing. Only partisanship can stop some from seeing it.

So it's all retaliation for the years of Clinton bashing. So what do you think the Clinton bashing was in retaliation for?

One more thought while I'm at it. If anyone ever brings up Clinton, they're usually berated for bringing up a past administration. Does this mean you guys stop bashing Bush sometime around January 09?

Well, why 8 years of Clinton bashing over hanky panky and lying about hanky panky. That is my answer. What Clinton did had little repurcussion for Americans. Can you say receiving a series of bribes for consideration and manipulation of defense spending was less or more serious? If you are saying "convict and forget" that is a little naive.

Sorry, but in 2 months nobody will even remember who Cunningham is. No comparison - especially due to the quality of the crime.

By the way, I am not agreeing with "neener neener" partisan politics - I am saying that we should expect it given the punding of the Clinton Administration for eight years.

But it wasn't about hanky panky. It was perjury, suborning perjury, obstruction of justice, attempting to deprive Paula Jones of redress through the courts. I think that it had a LOT of repercussions on Americans. I know that there were a lot of pre adolescents who took note of his statement to the American people of "I didn't have sex with that woman". I don't think its a matter of what's "worse", they are both bad and deserve to be seen that way.

That's an excellent point. He is one of four hundred. We only have one president at a time. I think that the president needs to be held to a higher moral standard.

Look at the governor levels in Ohio and kentucky-Fletcher for hiring practices in state government (read:cronies), and Taft for taking illegal money. At least 37% of our population approve of the "reforms" that are being made.

By the way-the Bush bashing will not stop in January of 09-it will take quite a bit longer to clean the mess he has created.

There's the out!

Congratulations, you're well on your way to partisanship.

Accepting bribes as a public official is much more detrimental to our system of government than receiving oral sex. And the problem with Clinton lying about it is they all lie. We've come to expect it.

At least Clinton didn't do what he did for a payoff. There seems to be no limit to what the Repugs will do for a little cash- or oil.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Clinton's "payoff" was to make Paula Jones look like a false accuser. I think the settlement was at least $2.4 million dollars. And then of course, there is the "Swimmer". Teddy Kennedy. Remember the "Blonde in the Pond"? Somehow I think that dodging a vehicular homocide or manslaughter charge is a LOT more serious than just "money".
