The party who was the party of the reformers, the party who was to clean up government.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
They are "cleaning up", all right.
WIcruizer said:Why do you get pleasure out of our elected leaders getting into trouble? That's pretty strange.
It's the "I told you so" syndrome. The Republicans aren't so perfect after all.
yeartolate said:You obviously were not on the DIS Boards during the Cinton years. This is mild in comparison to the orgasmic Clinton bashing that was done. I guess my point is Clinton bashing was a sport in this country for 8 years. Why are you surprised that some Democrats are engaging in some "neener neener neener" moments.
WIcruizer said:And who said Republicans are perfect? When someone gets caught for a crime, they should be punished. It's not that complicated. I don't remember anyone saying Republicans are incapable of commiting a crime.

One out of four has been found guilty..

Wasn't it Clinton orgasmic bashing?yeartolate said:This is mild in comparison to the orgasmic Clinton bashing that was done.
richiebaseball said:You are incorrect. This is not mild in comparison to the Clinton bashing. This is very similar to the Clinton bashing. Only partisanship can stop some from seeing it.

yeartolate said:Well, why 8 years of Clinton bashing over hanky panky and lying about hanky panky. That is my answer. What Clinton did had little repurcussion for Americans. Can you say receiving a series of bribes for consideration and manipulation of defense spending was less or more serious? If you are saying "convict and forget" that is a little naive.
yeartolate said:Sorry, but in 2 months nobody will even remember who Cunningham is. No comparison - especially due to the quality of the crime.

DawnCt1 said:But it wasn't about hanky panky. It was perjury, suborning perjury, obstruction of justice, attempting to deprive Paula Jones of redress through the courts. I think that it had a LOT of repercussions on Americans. I know that there were a lot of pre adolescents who took note of his statement to the American people of "I didn't have sex with that woman". I don't think its a matter of what's "worse", they are both bad and deserve to be seen that way.
momof2inPA said:Accepting bribes as a public official is much more detrimental to our system of government than receiving oral sex. And the problem with Clinton lying about it is they all lie. We've come to expect it.
At least Clinton didn't do what he did for a payoff. There seems to be no limit to what the Repugs will do for a little cash- or oil.
Clinton's "payoff" was to make Paula Jones look like a false accuser. I think the settlement was at least $2.4 million dollars. And then of course, there is the "Swimmer". Teddy Kennedy. Remember the "Blonde in the Pond"? Somehow I think that dodging a vehicular homocide or manslaughter charge is a LOT more serious than just "money".
