Decorating your resort room?

I've been thinking about decorating our resort room window/door, and I'm still trying to come up with some ideas (despite the awesome photos here).

I'm thinking of Xyroning some LG Mickey heads onto magnetic backing, putting my screen name on them, and putting them on the door (Pop does have metal doors, right?), along with a sheet of paper/cardstock and pen for autographs. Has anyone done this? I thought it'd be neat to incorporate into our Disney vacation scrapbook.

I still don't know about the window, though. I like the idea of making the Mickey heads look like balloons with curly ribbon as the strings, but I don't know what else to do ...

Anyone want to divvy up some ideas? :cutie:

I saw some wonderful window clings (make your own) on the DIS signs board.

I went to POFQ the last two years. I know you are going to LOVE it!:thumbsup2 Small resort and quiet, for the most part. The grounds are lovely and it's a short walk to the food court, pool, and gift shop. Unfortunately, I don't have many pics of the resort itself, and I don't have any from inside the room. I do have these from last year:

The rooms themselves are spacious for a moderate. I like that there is a divider curtain between the bed area and the sinks.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you. Have fun on your trip!

Very nice pix!!

Love looking at everyone's decorations. We decorated our window at POP last Sept. We stuck with a lime green / Halloween theme.

Here it is:

Not sure what we'll do for our next trip. I'm thinking it might look pretty similar since I'm all for recycling these items & I know they fit in our suitcases.

here's my home depot mickey's head window-from august.

I love, love, love your window! Are the mickey heads hung by something like kite string / fishing line? Did you just tie individual strands up to the curtain rod or secure it some other way?

Okay so i have been on this site for two days trying to read everything:woohoo: Now i am going to share what i think we are going to do. My parents and in laws are taking us for christmas in December. :santa: So to thank them I am going to go into their rooms and decorate. I am going to decorate the table with a christmas table cloth get a small trees with disney ornaments and decorate there room. I am going to hang the window decor. in the bathoom. We are giving everyone going with us stockings filled with water bottle holders, crystal light packets, and personalized disney ornament, disney shirt and pen, mickey mouse lolipops and pez for the younger ones, and disney money. I am then going to hang lights in everyones windows with some window decor and bows on the door. For our room almost the same thing but i am getting a disney night light for my son some garland for around the head boards and we are buying all types of suprises for our son before we go so we are going to put them under the tree and let him open them as the week goes by. I am soo excited and cant wait. I figure its so far away i should have no problem finding good deals on everything. :rotfl:

This is an awesome thread! I've seen decorated windows before, but never realized they could be fellow DISers! :lmao:

Let me just say, I haven't made it all the way through thread, but I see there are some very creative people here! I am totally excited to look for things at our Dollar Tree (one just opened right near us) and Walmart, etc to see what I can come up with for my window the next time we go. Thanks for all the great ideas, guys! :thumbsup2

Next year it's going to be POTC for the boys ,I have a POTC placemat from Dollar Tree and then I will get black lights at Halloween, some red and black MHs and keep searching for more POTC decorations, the girls want a traditional Mickey window so red lights or blue red & blue MHs and stars both of which I have ( stars are in the Teacher section at Dollar Tree) Also picked up some Mickey wall clings and have a placemat so I'm well on the way I also want to find some cheap stuffed Mickeys .. Yard Sales are coming!!

I think I know the type of placemat you're talking about, I think there's one sitting on or table! :rotfl: My question is, how will you get it to stick to the window, if you intend to attach it? TIA!

If I remember how to do this correctly, here is one(I hope) from our window at All Star Movies back in February.
If it doesn't work, I will try again.:confused3

Thanks! I thought it would be fun for our "girls only" trips. princess:
I actually did it twice. The first time (about a year ago) I found the castle in the party supply department of Hobby Lobby. It ripped when I was taking it down at the end of our trip, so I wanted a new one for our Feb. '08 trip. Hobby lobby didn't have them this time, but Party America did. It was only about $4. It came as two big cellophane sheets with the castle printed on. I chose to cut around the outside of the castle knowing I would never get the creases out. The tinsel garland was in the Hobby Lobby clearance bin last spring and the princess lights were from walmart. The other window clings were from walmart and party america.

Kytiam!

That is beautiful! Now I am off to hunt for that amazing and cheap castle!!!!;)

I love the castle I am going to have to hunt one too.

When we go we usually stay in the one or two bedroom suites. We went this past March and stayed at the Beach Club. I cut out Mickey hats for everyone and put their names on them. I cut out a zillion Mickey heads some I made into magnets for the door and Mickey hands and put them all around the room. I also got pink lights and hung them over the girls mirror. I made all the girls (my college age daughter brought 3 of her friends and we took my 2 year old Grandson) Princess pillow cases and embroidered their names on them I made my grandson a Buzz pillow case. I also bought a bunch of little gifts wrapped them up and "Tinkerbell" visited their rooms everyday and left presents. My grandson was so cute he would walk into the room and say "WOW" not even knowing what the gift was. :rotfl:
