Deck 6 Veranda question

We have been quoted a Cat 6 verandah cabin. Deck 6, over the Buena Vista Theatre and the lifeboats. Cabin 6110.

We have never sailed on a Disney ship and I am wondering if there will be noise from the theatre? Also, does having the lifeboats below the verandah affect the view to the water in any way? Do the lifeboats stick out from the ship or are they tucked under the verandas of deck 6?

I would love a verandah with sun and a lounge chair, but it doesn't look like any of the Disney cabins offer this. If there are cabins like this, will you share the cabin number(s) with me?

Thanks for any help you can give in selecting a cabin.

If you can afford one of the top cabins they have lounge chairs and huge verandas... I on the other hand just put my feet on one chair and sit on the other and make it into my "cat. 6 lounge chair."
you shuld be fine in regards to the noise from the theature, the ship is well insulated.

Any chance I could kick my DH out there to sleep once he starts snoring?

The lifeboats will not block any view from your verandah. They tuck in under Deck 5, rihgt above the Deck 4 cushioned lounge chairs.

Last cruise we were in cabin 6106. Our next cruise is in cabin 6112. If you didn't mention that these staterooms were over the theater, I did check my passporter book, I wouldn't have thought so. No noise at all from the theater. Have you reserved yet or are you getting more quotes? The people on these boards seem to always find great deals from each other. Last year I found out about AllSeasons travel and they saved me 610.00. Their site is www.allseastravel.com ...Mark

The only time I even knew the lifeboats were underneath us was when we returned to port. It seems the crew did lifeboat drills that day and it was a bit noisy lowering the boats down. But you have to be up bright and early that morning anyway so it worked out OK.

Have a great time on your cruise!

I have been in 6110 and I did hear the theater below us. I will move to the other side of the ship for our next cruise. It is hard to remember specifics, but I know I didn't like the 'rumbling' sounds coming from below. Believe it or not, it took me a bit to figure out it was the theater! I seemed to hear it around 11:00 pm.

Anyway, I LOVE the aft location. But, I'm going to move to the starboard side. I have 6116 booked for my next cruise. Our friends were in 6120 before and LOVED it. Below is the walkway outside of the theater.

No problems at all with the lifeboats or the theater. I heard it once in a while as a quiet din, but never at night.

Noisy neighbors??? Well that's another issue.

We were in 6618, also above the theatre. Didn't hear a peep from the theatre. Never realized there were lifeboats tucked under my veranda until now. We were also right off the elevator lobby, and found it to be very convienient and not very noisy (a little, once in a while, but I think noisy kids are noisy in the lobby or in the hall, at least the lobby dispersed the noise a little).

We are also switching sides (same cabin, other side) next cruise. Nothing to do with the noise. We had "the view" of CC and Nassau, but not a great view of the port and stood in the sun for our drill. My husband prefers believing the ship will face the same direction and we will be on the other side for the safety drill on the other side of the ship. He doesn't care about view.
