Looking to book for next year on the Wonder for Deck 1 midship. Rooms that are available is 1048 to 1070. Would these be good or should I pay an extra $300 to move up a deck?

We were in room 1060 on the Magic last year, and it was fine. It's very quiet on that level. You get two smaller portholes instead of one larger one, in case that matters to you, and obviously it's one more flight of stairs to climb, but we didn't feel that was an issue for us.

Had a deck 1 Magic cabin before; we enjoyed it. Only issue was that when pulling in and out of port there was a low noise that I assumed was the thrusters helping move the ship. If you were asleep, it wasn't loud enough to wake you up. Just be aware that the elevators don't consistently come down to deck 1 and 2. (At least they didn't on that cruise.) When you were watching the elevators, they usually would come down to deck 3 and then go back up. It would take a few times before an elevator actually came down to deck 1. We just gave up and always took the stairs.

I did Deck 2 Interior on the Wonder last year and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Deck 1 is probably very similar. Agreed with above - always take stairs if you are impatient.

We have been on Deck 1 and 2 several times on Wonder and Magic and had no problems. Nice and quiet down there!!
