Trying to decide on a few things.......

Is MGM worth it for a preschooler? I only see Disney Playhouse that looks interesting to her. THink she'd be scared of Honey I Shrunk the Audience and maybe the Muppet glasses!

What about water parks? Is it all big slides or is there an area for the little ones? If so, is it worth the trip or is the area small? WHich water park is better for the little ones?

Hoop De Doo or Cirque de Soleil for that age?

Thanks

I know BB has a place for small children, but I don't know much about it so I really can't help you there.
But at MGM what about the beauty and the beast show, and voyage of the little mermaid. When my DDs were litttle they loved those shows.
And Cirque de Soleil I don't think that a preschooler would enjoy that. Maybe hoop de doo, i've never done that but heard that it was nice for younger kids.

DS loved all the rides when he was that age (now hes scared until he gets on the ride) LOL . At MGM we did the Beauty and the Beast Show, Playhouse Disney and Voyage of the Little Mermaid, we also did the Great Movie Ride (which I don't think he would tolerate now). There are other things I wanna do there, maybe I can sneak away and get there myself without him, however DH thinks I'm wrong for that. LOL

MGM is a must for your little one and as for Cirque, i took my 3 and 4 yr olds to the one that visited here in houston. The three your old was interested for 20 mins max. Never been to the one at Disney but if it's anything like the one here then I suggest to wait.

Just got back with a 3 & 4 year old:

MK - loved fantasyland almost all rides but esp. dumbo, teacups, and carousel. Also loved Alladins carpets, the race cars near tommorowland, tiki birds show, country bear jamboree. Alot here but centralized around Fantasyland

AK - animal safari, lion king show (awesome!), bird show, alot of seeing animals here, not many rides for toddler age children - Not alot of rides here period. This is more of a zoo atmosphere than theme park.

Epcot - Kid Cot stations, both kids loved Innoventions buildings very hands on interactive for the kids (called them the toy buildings), alot of walking around here and takes a little bit to keep kids involved. We purchased the passport books so the kids would have something to occupy them and between the masks at the kid cot stations and the passports (done at same time) it gave the kids something to do and look forward to at each country. Alot of people report their kids being bored in Epcot but ours actually really enjoyed it.

MGM - We (dh & I) also thought it might not be worth our time but again both kids really enjoyed this park. Playhouse Disney, Ariels Show were big hits for our 2. Remember that between walking around, character meetings (which there are lines for) and browsing shops take quite a bit of time so you may get to less than expected with a toddler in tow. We arrived at MGM for around 12:30-1:00PM and stayed till closing. I think it would have been too much to do opening to close in this park as there isn't a ton of things to keep you occupied ALL day long but still plenty to do. We started in Fantasyland at MK (we had castle reservations for buffet breakfast at 8:30) hit Dumbo, and a couple rides then headed over to MGM for afternoon. This gave us enough time to hit some shows, watch the parade, head over to Prime Time for dinner and get to fantasmic theater for the show there. Between the time for each show and walking around it was relaxing enough so we weren't stressed but we felt that the kids got quite a bit out of it. We also took some time for the kids to let off some steam and energy in the kids playground - "Honey I shrunk the Kids" playground which our kids always had fun in all the playgrounds at MK and MGM. More than I thought for this age group at MGM.

My kids have always loved MGM. However, we usually only spent about 1/2 a day there. They loved the Beauty and the Beast show, Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground, Voyage of the Little Mermaid (although I have seen many parents run out with crying children when Ursula comes out), Playhouse Disney of course, Muppets 3-D (there are some loud bangs at the end). They also enjoyed meeting Woody, Buzz & Jessie by Al's Toy Barn. It's a fun park. I think your child would enjoy it! :)

As for the water parks...
we hit Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. Both have great childrens areas and we set up camp in the kids area so that we could venture to the wave pool and other slide/raft rides but most of the time was spent in the kiddie areas. We liked Typhoon Lagoon but Loved Blizzard Beach.

We felt that the kiddie are at BB had more of a variety and more to offer our kids. Kiddie area has a pool area - maybe up to our childrens knees in depth with statues squirting water, waterfall, water slides, a tube ride for children, and more water slides. There is also sand they can dig in, build castles, etc. in so bring a pail & shovel - can also be purchased at the parks.

Typhoon lagoon kids area didn't seem to have a big enough pool area for kids to wade, sit, play in. It seemed to be a stream with toys on each side for them to play in/on but again our opinion. But they did have a boat with water guns to "attack" each other that our kids really got into here. Water slides and a tube ride for kids as well we just felt they had more at BB than here.

We love water parks and the kids had a blast here as well! We spent 1 day at TL and 2 days at BB during our stay. Hours were 10-5 while we were there so it was a late wake up day for us too!
