We have always stayed onsite. From value, to mods and deluxe...
It didn't matter to us, as long as we were onsite.
Its just the 2 of us....myself and my 13 y/o.

To save costs for our NEXT trip (late 2013 or 2014), I have decided to try OFFSITE. Even entertaining the idea to DRIVE from TX.....

That brings me to my next dilemma. Which ONE?
Of course, we want to be CLOSE to Disney, have some awesome pools )we are use to SLIDES), great restaurants , are a necessity, as well as shuttle's.

AM I DREAMING?

Nope,:) check out wyndham bonnet creek. There are several great threads about it . It is located next to Disney property, within the Disney signs. It's a timeshare property with 5 pools, lazy rivers, great views, pretty much everything you're looking for. Renting points from an owner is the way to get the best pricing.

I AM leaning in that direction. My one friend says she will not stay anywhere ELSE. :rotfl2:
I will have to educate myself in "buying points".

The we love bonnet creek threads (1,2 and 3) talk about a few companies people use a lot, that would be the best place to start. We have stayed there 4 times are getting ready to start planning our 5th trip. We really love it there, the extra space is soooo nice, a jacuzzi tub in the room, a real kitchen, laundry in room, it makes it hard to stay in a regular hotel after that :)

I use to say that about Disney properties. :)
I could get use to this property.
My daughter will LOVE the lazy river, heck, I will too.

I will go and stalk those BC boards and see where I can get the best deal.

Hello fellow Texan! First of all there is no way I would drive 22 hours, when I could be down there in 2 hours and 20 minutes (from the Dallas area).:rotfl2::rotfl2: Some people do though. I'd rather spend those extra 40 hours (round trip driving time) in the parks.:rotfl:

We were planning on staying onsite for our trip this past Oct/Nov, but about two weeks before we left, a coworker offered offered me a great deal for a week at Westgate Town Center for a one bedroom condo for just $400.00 (plus the $50.00 trade in fee). We loved staying offsite so much, that I immediately came back, canceled my onsite stay for this coming May, and booked a one bedroom condo at Wyndham Bonnet Creek through a third party. I read all of the I Love Bonnet Creek threads (there are three of them:rotfl:). Most people over there recommended getting several quotes as quotes from each company will vary depending on which particular units they may have available for your specific dates. I went with Vacation Strategies, because they were cheapest for my dates, but alot of people also recommend Vacation Upgrades and Farrell's Vacations. Some people also recommend checking on ebay. I got ten nights/eleven days in a one bedroom deluxe for $896.00 (so $89.60 per night). Much cheaper than any resort through Disney.:cool1:

Now starting Feb 15th, Wyndham Bonnet Creek is going to start charging $12.00 per night per unit for transportation fees (for parking fees and shuttle and golf carts use), so those fees would need to be added in. However, even with the $12.00 per night fee, Bonnet Creek is still cheaper than Disney resorts.

Here are the websites of the companies I mentioned:

Thank you for this info.:)
Driving was an option, with quite a few stops. When my husband was skive, we drive from Jersey and directthe night twice.

Spending 40 hours driving in a car is crazy. Its like spending a whole work week driving a car. I would not waste valuable vacation time driving a car. Not to mention the wear and tear it put on your vehicle. The possibility of getting into an accident or getting into a traffic tie up that lengthens the amount of time driving.

I did receive a quote from VS for my dates.
WOW....blown away. I think it was like 900.00 + taxes and fees. :thumbsup2

ALSO....priced airfare from SW....Great prices, again...

ITS A SIGN. :cool1:
