Staying at WL Courtyard view from 12/8 to 12/15. Plan is to stay in the park until closing (1AM) on 12/15. Any suggestions on where to stay that night? Flight out leaves at 1PM the next day. As of now, there are no rooms available @ WL unless we paid for conceirge... What would be the easiest as far as luggage transfer? Checking in, etc.?

I would keep calling and see if anything opens up for your last night because people cancel their ressies all the time. You still have time so you never know. The only other option is if you don't want to spend the one night on concierge you can spend one more day somewhere else. The hotel will transfer your luggage over for you.

Hey we'll be there (at WDW) on the same dates.:thumbsup2 For the last night, you may want to consider just moving to a Value for the one night since you'll be back so late the night before, it doesn't make sense to pay $200+ for a room you'll only use to sleep in for your checkout early the next morning. It would be easiest to just keep trying to get a room at WL since there is so much time between now and your travel dates. I'm sure one will open up, but if it doesn't then my suggestion would be to Value it for that 1 night. Hopefully we'll see you all there.:thumbsup2

We'll be at the Lodge during the same dates in December. For my upcoming trip to the Lodge in October for Food & Wine I was able to pick up a few additional nights around 45 days out when the dead line for the final payments for the packages passed. You might also check during your stay as the cancellation for room only reservations is 6 nights before arrival.
I would book a room at a value as a back-up. I would also have one person go to the new resort to check in and receive your room keys before staying at the Magic Kingdom until 1:00am.

Good Luck

I appreciate the advice. Best bet is to keep calling for a room at WL, but to make a back-up reservation too. If we go to another Disney hotel, I understand the luggage would be transferred. Can I check-in via phone and just pick-up room key & have luggage sent to the room when we get there from the park? Or do you recommend going over in person in the afternoon & "seeing" the room, etc. Don't want to lose park time, but I might be ready for a "break" that day and could do the check-in. :cool1:

If you have to move to another resort I would have Disney transfer your luggage then in the late afternoon I would just jump on the bus to that resort and check-in.

You must do it in person can't be done over the phone. That way you will know your luggage has arrived and you'll know the location of your room and have access to it when you return @ 1:00am. Also you may not have easy access to your luggage at that time of the morning as the value resorts don't have Bell Services they have Bell Assistance.

Q: Will Pop Century have Bell Services? From: The Groovy New Pop Century FAQ Thread!
Upon arrival, Pop Century will offer Luggage Assistance for our guests. Not to be confused with "Bell Services" found at Deluxe resorts, Luggage Assistance will take your luggage, and store it while you enter the lobby and check in. Your luggage will then be automatically delivered to your room within an hour of it becoming available. You do not need to be in the room for luggage to be delivered, so you can go off and play in the parks. When you get back, your luggage will already be there. They will have refrigerators for food and medical usage. (All food *MUST* be factory sealed) They will also have a locked area for valuables such as laptops, cameras, and other electronics.

When checking out, they can come and pick up your luggage, and store it until you are ready to depart. We do ask that you give us a call the night before, to arrange a pick up time. If you call day of, we may not have any availability left. We require a minimum of one hours notice. Those of you who opt for Express Checkout will receive a voice mail reminding you of this option, as well as other Express Checkout info. By the way, the voice of Express Checkout is the same voice that does the Monorail Spiel.

You do not need to be in your room for drop off or pick up.

Should you wish to handle your own luggage, they offer the use of our hand carts. (Not the "bird cages," but push carts) Usage of the carts is free, however, they will require a credit card on file, should you decide to take one home as a souvenir. They also do ask that guests limit cart usage to 30 minutes, so that other guests may use them as well.

Not sure how large your group is but if you travel alone you can do all this much quicker.
