Boy am I glad I book 3-7! lol and 11/18-11/21 With the dates still in the air I'm glad I'll be able to change last minute (thanks to hojo's 48 or 72 hr cancelation policy)

But they never have done it in the past...so, I would wonder why now? I looked up the last 6 years or so, and they were always on the first Monday and Tuesday, even as early as the first and second of the month.

This was in response to the parties being moved closer to Christmas.

It would make a lot of sense for DCA to stay open later. It was a mess when both closed early. It was our first night in DL too..not a great way to start the vacation. We thought the whole week would be one huge crowd like that first night. I found out later about the CM party. I wish I had done a little more homework on the whole thing and knew about it ahead of time. I remember just wanting some food! We broke down and ordered room service which really tossed me over the budget right from the beginning. Am I glad I found the DIS!

Wow....sorry that happened to you. I'm glad they have DCA open later now, because I agree that it does make more sense.

If you are there during the cm parties, you can plan a late dinner for somehwere further off-site. Or visit another local attraction for the afternoon and avoid the crowds altogether. Or plan on a movie for the early evening and get movie tickets early in the day...

I decided I would call too! The young lady I spoke with said that they would not have the information until October and then someone in the background said something to her and she asked me to hold and when she came back she said that the CM parties are already scheduled for the 8th and 9th of December. So they are changing things up. I am glad to know because I planned my trip as well to avoid them, looks like the 3-6 will work...ya!

THe CP does sound kinda nice though might just plan on those days, we'll see. I just called DL Guest Relations and found out that this year it will be Dec 6 and 7- the first Saturday & Sunday of December. And those CM parties are tentatively Dec 2 &3 and then 9 & 10 though she wasn't sure abouts how early they close, around 8 or 9pm...

Since DL usually closes at 6 p.m. for the CM parties, and Guest Relations said 8 or 9, I'm questioning the info. that they have at this point in time. It's still very early for them to release the dates, etc. so I'm thinking that they just don't know right now. As mentioned earlier in this thread, they have never done 4 nights of parties, so it doesn't seem to me as if the people at Guest Relations know anything this early. I'm still holding out for CM parties on the 1st and 2nd.

We will be there with you. We are there from the 6th to the 19th so not worried, might just ditch out early on those days. Good luck and see you there.

Yes! I agree! Also, I wish DLR would release the CP and CM party info. earlier. It sure would make life a lot easier.

Since we were staying for a week, we decided to skip the fireworks on those nights to avoid the crowds. We ate in DTD around 6-ish and then headed to DCA. It wasn't too bad.

Well, we will definitely be there for the CP, which is what we wanted. If the CM parties are the 8th and 9th, that's okay too. We'll just work around that and go to DCA. I really wanted the dates we have, so we'll stick to them. And we got all 8 days at the ent. rate ($59) at Hojo's so I'm not going to mess with that....LOL.

What a great idea to have our own little party at DCA. We should have a Disboard gathering at DCA for those of us who have to leave DL early due to the CM parties. If I'm there those days...count me in!

We are definitely going Dec. 7-12. We were hoping for the CP and hoping to miss the CM parties. But if we catch both, we will just plan a little differently. More rope drop and less later at night if we have to. I agree with PP that I won't give up my HoJo ent. rate. We have it for all 5 nights.

Besides we love Christmas and what could be better than off season at Disneyland at Christmas!!
