December 7,2013 Wonder from Galveston

Hello! Hubby and I just booked this cruise today! We have been on 3 Disney cruises so far, but they were on the Dream and Fantasy. I love, love, love Disney cruises, but super excited to try something new! Also have never been to Galveston before - nervous as we are so familiar with WDW and Port Canaveral.
I would love to join the FB group. I will try to find it and send a request.

Well I just officially booked our very first Disney cruise for my little family, which includes myself, my husband and our 3year old son! My son is going to do flips when he realizes what we are doing, he has noooo idea!! I would love some advice from those of you who are experienced cruisers :cool2: All of the basics would be appreciated...what time to get to the port, what to pack & what not to pack, things like that would be helpful. Oh and any special advice would be awesome too. I just don't want to over pack and have too much to try and store in our room and also lug around.
this will be our first cruise too - and my 10yr old daughter found me all kinds of advice on pintrest. just search Disney cruise and there are lots of boards and pins.

Hello! Jennifer T. requested to be added to the FB page.

We just booked the Dec 7 sailing from Galveston. We live in Houston so this is an easy trip for us, which is perfect as we wanted something to celebrate DH's 40th, but we will also have our 5 month old DS (who is being born on Monday!), 3 year old DS, and my in-laws with us. We love Disney so this fit the bill for a big celebration trip but with a little something for everyone. This will be our 6th cruise - we've done Carnival, Royal Caribbean, SeaDream, Cunard (QM2 transatlantic - awesome!!), and two very small European lines. This will be the in-laws first cruise ever - they are flying over from England to celebrate DH's birthday and the baby's christening with us. We are sooo excited!!

Hello to all the newcomers! I think we've caught up the FB requests. Sorry if you had to wait a bit. Had a weird work schedule this week and just got home to take care of things. Behind on everything. I think I need a vacation! Oh wait, have one coming! :lmao:

We are planning on booking the Dec 7th cruise. We are just waiting to see how our crops do (farmers, yup) and see the *GT rates that come out. Please add us to the FB page, Stephanie H and the FE list. We did our first cruise in Feb on the Dream and we would really like to try a smaller ship this time. Also, Galveston is a lot closer drive than PC from Kansas City! Thanks!

Thanks!

We will be cruising on this one! This will be our second DCL this yr. Went on Magic in April. Can't wait! Will have our almost 3 yr old twins with us. They love the "mickey mouse boat"! We are from The Woodlands, Tx. Love having Disney so close by, for now at least. :)

Just booked this yesterday. New to Disney- we love to cruise and decided to give this a try even though our kids are grown and we don't have any grandkids yet...so it's just us! The price was tempting.

Welcome aboard! We're going kidless as well. And thanks to the price changes not too long ago, we were able to move from inside cabin to a navigator's verandah for roughly the same cost.

Welcome aboard! Saw the FB request and it's approved. More information for the FE exchange is listed as a sticky there. That's neat that you were able to have a celebratory cruise for the adoption! :thumbsup2

On a side note, if anyone doesn't have access to facebook (or doesn't want to use it), let me or DizneGal know if you are participating in the Fish Extender exchange, so we can get you the list of participants. I just realized as I typed it out above that if the list is there, that it may be excluding those who don't use FB. Thanks!

I just booked our first Disney Cruise Dec 7th. I am really interested in joining the fb group and the fe. I am having trouble private messaging so my fb name is Diana O. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I am traveling with toddlers and babies and it is always important to know when to feed them.

I am in the process of figuring out how we are getting from the airport to the cruise terminal. I don't want to rent a car to save money I found a super shuttle but they require me to bring a car seat. Does anyone know of another money saving option to get to the terminal.

Also is there room under the beds in the staterooms for a stroller?

Thanks!

Welcome aboard! Received and added. The PM'ing on DISboards requires a minimum amount of posts before you can send them. I think it's 10? Might be off on that. Easy way to get post count up is to post in the welcome threads.

Which airport are you flying into? Hobby or Intercontinental (George Bush or whatever they call it nowadays)?

I'm not sure there is much room for a stroller anywhere in the rooms. We opted not to bring one when we took our kids last time, but we had a toddler who wanted to walk around anyways. I think I recall seeing a thread on stroller use in the ships. I'll see if I can dig it up and will post it.
