You don't HAVE vto upgrade to a moderate resort to get a regular dining plan. You can pay to upgrade your Free Quick Service Dining Plan to a regular Dining Plan at these rates below:
Adult non-peak: $16.55 per night
Child non-peak: $3.03 per night
So, Depending how many are in your party, it could be cheaper to stay at a Value and pay the upgrade cost....or it could be the worth the additional money to upgrade to a moderate, you'll have to price out what that additional charge would be for your family. For instance Value rack rates are about $90/night for Value and the PO hotels are about $150/night. If you have two adults and two children in a value upgrading to a regular dining plan from a FREE quick service dining plan that that would be an additional 39.27/night or about $275 for a 7 night stay. Average value + additional upgrade charge brings your cost per night to about $130. You may want to save the $20 a night and stay at a value or spend the extra $20 and upgrade to a moderate.
Also regarding if FREE dining will be offered....no one knows!! There are a few people over in the December Code Watch thread that have received codes for Free Dining already! Which could be a sign of what the future holds....![]()
You're a girl after my own heart - figuring down to the dollar! I appreciate the quick numbers - it's all kinda of dizzying at this point. I didn't know that I could upgrade the dining plan. Maybe all of this is because I really wanted to stay at POFQ to begin with, but went with AOA cause it was cheaper! Maybe I'm just trying to rationalize staying there! LOL
Does anyone here subscribe to Touring Plans? Do you find that it is worth the price to get information like they offer? Or do the other websites basically dish-out the same info?
Hey again! Next question: is the Osborne Light Show in Hollywod Studios worth it? We try to do our evening programs in the same park we're visiting that day, after we've had dinner. But, I'm not crazy about any of the table service restaurants in Hollywood Studios, therefore, we're planning dinner elsewhere in Disney. But, the show looks intriging...worth sitting through an unexciting meal for?
Anyone else get psyched and then burned by the Disney website? Let me explain...
I was clicking around the website, going through the special events tab, just killing time. I clicked the link for the the Osbourne Lights and down at the bottom of the page and there it was. Mickey in a little Santa suitand it said "Light up the holidays early with special resort savings." So I excitedly click the button and it takes me to the default Special Offers page. Where the offers only extend as far as September.
BURN!!!!
Here is the link.

I don't know how to quote,

ABSOLUTELY!!! Plan to spend at least an hour or so at the lights. You may think that's crazy, until you see it!!
We like to go to several different vantage points and hang out 15-20min each place. Because each time the lights dance to music, it's an entirely different show!
There's a canopy of lights going across/down one of the streets, be sure part of your viewing is from one end or under this. SPECTACULAR!
Also, in between "dance" numbers, holiday music continues to play, snow falls, and there are fun things to see... how each "apartment balcony" is decorated, light graphics in some windows, and remember to look for the famed Purple Cat!![]()
I totally forgot about the cat. I'll have to make a note of that on our itinerary.
Are Osborne Lights every night in December?
I'd hate to miss it!

Here is the list from last along with prices (according to allears).

Ok. I was reading more into this and I came up with some questions again.
Last year the CPDP went on sale on July 26th. The 180 day mark to make ADR's for must of us (if not all of us) is in June. Hypothetically, if the CPDP doesn't go on sale until July again; If I were to make a lunch ADR for Le Cellier at my 180 day mark in June, would I be able to tie that ADR to the CPDP? Or am I required to make a new ADR?
