Can't book until the dates are released anyway, so I have no choice but to wait! LOL

You don't HAVE vto upgrade to a moderate resort to get a regular dining plan. You can pay to upgrade your Free Quick Service Dining Plan to a regular Dining Plan at these rates below:

Adult non-peak: $16.55 per night
Child non-peak: $3.03 per night

So, Depending how many are in your party, it could be cheaper to stay at a Value and pay the upgrade cost....or it could be the worth the additional money to upgrade to a moderate, you'll have to price out what that additional charge would be for your family. For instance Value rack rates are about $90/night for Value and the PO hotels are about $150/night. If you have two adults and two children in a value upgrading to a regular dining plan from a FREE quick service dining plan that that would be an additional 39.27/night or about $275 for a 7 night stay. Average value + additional upgrade charge brings your cost per night to about $130. You may want to save the $20 a night and stay at a value or spend the extra $20 and upgrade to a moderate.

Also regarding if FREE dining will be offered....no one knows!! There are a few people over in the December Code Watch thread that have received codes for Free Dining already! Which could be a sign of what the future holds.... :confused3

You're a girl after my own heart - figuring down to the dollar! I appreciate the quick numbers - it's all kinda of dizzying at this point. I didn't know that I could upgrade the dining plan. Maybe all of this is because I really wanted to stay at POFQ to begin with, but went with AOA cause it was cheaper! Maybe I'm just trying to rationalize staying there! LOL

Well paying for an upgrade that puts you $20/night away for POFQ rate....is very rational to switch! :) LOL Just remember you'll have to pay tips at all the table service meals.

Does anyone here subscribe to Touring Plans? Do you find that it is worth the price to get information like they offer? Or do the other websites basically dish-out the same info?

Hey again! Next question: is the Osborne Light Show in Hollywod Studios worth it? We try to do our evening programs in the same park we're visiting that day, after we've had dinner. But, I'm not crazy about any of the table service restaurants in Hollywood Studios, therefore, we're planning dinner elsewhere in Disney. But, the show looks intriging...worth sitting through an unexciting meal for?

I subscribe. It's only a few bucks (and less if you have the Unofficial Guide). I like knowing what they are predicting and comparing it to easywdw. For me, the more information the better.

Is the Lines app free, or do you need a membership? I enjoy checking the lines app even when I'm not in the world.

Yes! imo, Osborne lights is a must see at the Holidays.

I don't know how to quote, but the Osborne Lights are AMAZING!!!! Best Christmas lights ever. The lights get turned on around 6/dark and are on for a while after the park closes. I would think you could eat dinner somewhere else and hop over to DHS, or see the lights first if you like a later dinner. You can spend as much or as little time looking at them as you want. They "dance" to music every 10 minutes or so. These lights and the Castle Lights were the highlights of my trip last December and we are going back this December. :santa:
Just my opinion of course. :rotfl:

Anyone else get psyched and then burned by the Disney website? Let me explain...

I was clicking around the website, going through the special events tab, just killing time. I clicked the link for the the Osbourne Lights and down at the bottom of the page and there it was. Mickey in a little Santa suit :santa: and it said "Light up the holidays early with special resort savings." So I excitedly click the button and it takes me to the default Special Offers page. Where the offers only extend as far as September. :sad2:

BURN!!!!

Here is the link.

Yes! I totally fell for that, too! It was so annoying. I've been stalking the website for days looking for deals for December and I thought I hit the jackpot. Busted.

I don't know how to quote,

In the bottom right corner of the post, there's a Quote icon. Click on that and it will quote the text and take you to the reply screen. Just make sure and put your cursor after the last [/QUOTE] or else you'll land up quoting in the text, or before it. Then once you get really good at it, you'll learn how to edit inside the quote itself. Or edit only the parts you want to quote. Gets real easy after a while. :thumbsup2

ABSOLUTELY!!! Plan to spend at least an hour or so at the lights. You may think that's crazy, until you see it!!

We like to go to several different vantage points and hang out 15-20min each place. Because each time the lights dance to music, it's an entirely different show! :santa:

There's a canopy of lights going across/down one of the streets, be sure part of your viewing is from one end or under this. SPECTACULAR! :thumbsup2

Also, in between "dance" numbers, holiday music continues to play, snow falls, and there are fun things to see... how each "apartment balcony" is decorated, light graphics in some windows, and remember to look for the famed Purple Cat! :3dglasses

Hi Everyone, Anyone planning to be at disney for Christmas? I am figuring Christmas would be awesome because every year for my two kids ages 4 & 3 I buy ton of stuff spend so much money and they hardly play with their toys,
so I was figuring just going to Disney leaving 23 for 5 or 6 days, but then I research and seen what was said about Christmas day and I just dont want to be stuck not seeing no character meet & greets no rides parades etc. But then maybe I can do 2 days at MK to get everything done if not i will just go before all the craziness happens. I usally go in the summer, are Christmas crowds on xmas eve & day worst than summer

I totally forgot about the cat. I'll have to make a note of that on our itinerary.

Are Osborne Lights every night in December?

I'd hate to miss it!

Usually, unless there is some special event or a really early closing for a private function. Be sure to check the schedule as your trip approaches, to be sure you don't miss out! :flower3:

The WDW website officially list is as "Most Nights". Last year they went Nov 10 - Jan 7.

HTH!!

I remember seeing the cat on our last visit, and I thought "Huhn... That seems out of place." It wasn't til we got back that we heard the story behind that cat and I said "Hey! I saw that."

Here is the list from last along with prices (according to allears).

Ok. I was reading more into this and I came up with some questions again. :rotfl:

Last year the CPDP went on sale on July 26th. The 180 day mark to make ADR's for must of us (if not all of us) is in June. Hypothetically, if the CPDP doesn't go on sale until July again; If I were to make a lunch ADR for Le Cellier at my 180 day mark in June, would I be able to tie that ADR to the CPDP? Or am I required to make a new ADR?

You will need to make a completely new ADR. Lots of ADR's open up around that time as people release the backup ADR's they all had in place.
