I got into a bad accident on the highway yesterday. I'm 90% sure my car is totaled, I won't find out till Monday or Tuesday....the first thing I think of is DISNEY :rotfl: Just hope if we are buying a new vehicle it doesn't stop the going to Disney budget.... I'm okay by the way....just a bunch of bumps and bruises and sore, but I walked away with 1 cut....on my pinky finger!! LOL.

Yikes!! Thank goodness you are okay. How scary!! Hoping all goes well on the car front. Sending positive thoughts your way.

I guess I should jump in. I've only really lurked on the boards but I've been meaning to become more active for a while now, so I guess now is as good a time as any :cool1:
So I guess I should give some information on my trip?
Our dates are the 3rd - 14th but may change depending.
I'm not sure what resort we'll be staying at. My family is split between wanting to stay at Port Orleans FQ and Caribbean Beach. We haven't stayed at either but we've stayed at Riverside twice which is why my sisters don't want to stay at French Quarter.
Our party size will either be four or seven, so obviously way too many things are up in the air at this point. :confused3
I've been to Disney twice in December and we all love how magical it is around Christmas time. Still haven't seen Osborne festival of dancing lights yet though.
I also plan on doing a trip report. The pre trip report will probably be up when more things are set in stone.
Well, I guess that's it xD

Welcome!! I will add you to the undecided dates section. Once you firm up your plans, let me know! :)

I put down our deposit on our vacation home last night! We are staying at a home in Windsor Hills. It's my first time going through VRBO, so I was extremely nervous, bout fingers crossed everything will go smoothly!

We also had our first Disney movie theme night last night!popcorn:: We watched Mulan. We made paper lanterns, looked up our Chinese zodiac signs, and my daughter and I created placemats with our names written in Chinese. I made orange chicken with rice and we had fortune cookies for dessert. Next week we'll watch Wall-E.

not sure if I was added to the list....too many things going on and not organized enough on here!....anyway we will be spending xmas at the world checking in at POP the 22-27, may add a day IF I get a lucky pin code for free dining.....Leaving NW corner of Iowa Dec 19-here's hoping for good clear driving weather!

That movie night sounds awesome!!! I want to do that with my DD! Did you find info on activities that matched up with Disney movies or did you think of it yourself? And I'm sure your VRBO rental is fine!!

I got my recipe off of Pinterest. It was yum!

Family Fun also has a lot of themed ideas.

Hi tofubeast--Please change me to arriving on 12/8 and staying at POP. :hippie: My ONE night deposit at CR paid for all 6 nights at POP and Disney owes me some money. Crazy!!!! :confused3 Now I get to buy a lot more souvenirs. :rotfl:

So is anyone else starting to plan their ADR's? Or am i the only one? DW, DSis and I had a meeting yesterday as to where and when. I hope I can them all for us.

Not so much planning them, but definitely looking at and thinking of new places to try, revisit old favs, asking the fam where they want to eat, etc. In a few weeks I will probably start creating my MASTER PLAN !!! *evil laugh*

So far there is only one must-have ADR for us. DD had said she wanted to eat at Akershus for her birthday dinner, but then I saw the Princess Package that is available at CRT, and I swooned! We are going to do MK that day anyway, so that keeps us from park hopping. Also, from reading the Cake Chatter thread, the cakes that are available at Akershus sound blah, while the ones at CRT are :cloud9:, so there is that! :wizard:

I thought about a Chef Mickey's breakfast for DS, and I would love to go to Kona for breakfast just once, but I'm not sure I am willing to give up park time for either! I might look into a CP package and/or a Fantasmic! Package.

DH and I also are hoping for a date night at California Grill one night. Narcoosee's is our back-up.

Gee, can you tell I haven't given this any thought at all?! :rotfl:

I find planning an end of nov into dec trip and I hate trying to work out what park what day when it goes from one month into the next cause park hours aren't up for the next month yet....

Glad you weren't hurt badly! Although pinky cuts can really smart! ;)

Step 1: Monitor Disboards and other sights for the date that CPDP opens up

Step 2: Wake up EXTRA early that morning

Step 3: Drink at least 3 cups of strong coffee

Step 4: Dial (on at least 2 phones) the CPDP #

Step 5: Login to Disboards and feel the community of all those that are suffering with you for the next 60-120 minutes of being on hold listening to the sound track of every Magic Kingdom ride and attraction. Brrrrrrr... I can still hear Gilbert Godfied in my head in his song with the Tiki Birds

Step 6: Get resrvation (hopefully get 1 of your top 3 picks)

Step 7: Slash your tire and call AAA, so that you can explain to your boss that you had a flat and weren't late because you making a CPDP reservation

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Step 7 may be a little bit of a problem. I don't have AAA. :rotfl:

I've never stressed on ADR's. I think when I got it in '08, it was a couple weeks into the availability-window (seems like 90 days, but that may be all wrong). Our first dinner choice wasn't available, but our second choice was (Garden Grill turned out very good).

However, I know demand for EVERYTHING is much greater these days, so BDL probably has the right idea! :goodvibes

I'm pretty sure I know where we'll eat. Ohana for arrival night, 50s Prime Time and Le Cellier for lunch.

Hope that I get what we want :)

We are hoping to get Le Cellier for lunch. DSis loves RFC, so we'll be doing that. Shula's is on DW's and my to do list. Hoping for the Candlelight Processional Dinner Package which will be a first for us; along with 50's Primetime and T-Rex.

DW and DSis also want to do CRT. That will also be a first for us. 3 adults at a Princess breakfast. Wonder how that's going to look? :rotfl: Be 3 adults at CP to. Of course we did CP on the last trip as well, and that was 5 adult-kids. We're kids at heart when it comes to our WDW vacations. :goodvibes Might just a do a couple of CS meals as well.

I'm hoping Be Our Guest is open!! That's my #1 ADR wish. :cool1: Might do one other TS. We prefer the freedom of CS.

As of right now...we are hoping for Chef Mickeys on arrival day. We will hopefully get into the parks around maybe 1-1:30ish....our flight lands at 10:05. Anyway, planning on grabbing something at the food court and heading to MK just for our twins to see THE Castle!!! Maybe ride the train...and the Peoplemover. Hopefully catch the Parade. Then stroll on over to CR for dinner.

After that...and in no particular order yet...Le Cellier, Liberty Tree Tavern, CRT, Mama Melrose (F! Package) and 1900 Park Fare.

That leaves one day open that we are thinking we will do all CS meals so we can just eat where we want when we want instead of being tied into anything.

UNLESS, Be Our Guest is open....in which case we will gladly be tied into that!!!

I've been thinking about ADRs but nothing set in stone. I think we're only going to do 2-3 ADRs and the rest CS (on free dining plan).

The only for sure booking we'll make is the CP package at biergarten. I'm waiting more info on park hours/best park recommendations before making the decision on any other ADRs.

I'm most inclined to make another sit down dining choice in Epcot, because of so many good options-but I also think that we could easily snack our way around the world-making the sit down meal a bit of a waste.

I'm wondering if an ADR at DHS might be the better option. Or one somewhere along the monorail.

I hate not having all the info! Wanting to plan this far out is driving me bonkers :headache:

Sounds like the way to go to me!!! :thumbsup2 I understand the "want" for a better hotel and the perks it comes with but honestly, in our life right now we are just as happy to apply the money saved on hotels to having more fun!
