**December 2012 Roll Call** Holidays, FLE Opening & MVMCP!! A very, merry thread!

I haven't put much thought into ADR's to be honest. I am really up in the air on what we actually want to do anyways (OOP or QSDP). And then the third factor is....if the come out with a free dining promo I'd probably take them up on that offer and maybe even pay to upgrade to the regular dining plan so we can do character meals often!

I would personally love to do Le Cellier for lunch. I've never been and everyone tells me it is a must. Other dining things I'd like to do are: CRT or Akershaus, and La Hacienda de San Angel.

I do have a few questions though... My 180 ADR date is June 5th. Does that mean I can only making my dining reservations for the first day of my trip (Dec 2)? Or can I do my entire stay on that day?

Next question... if MVMCP tickets go on sale May 1st and the park operating calender isn't out until the 2nd or 3rd week in May....how are you all deciding when to buy tickets? Are you waiting for the calender to be released?

JLa! I think we're going the same day! My RSVP book day is June 5, too! I've been to La Cellier and it's very good, but its pretty expensive. Hubby and I actually saved it for our romantic dinner in Epcot. (Actually, an hour before our RSVP, it POURED in Epcot and we got soaked. We arrived at La Cellier wet and freezing!)

You can make RSVPs for all of your trip all at once! Use online booking (unless it MVMCP).

I'm in the same conundrum as you with the MVMCP tix. I'm going to buy the tix the day they go on sale and plan the rest of the trip around it. I mean, it doesn't really matter when the parks are open - if you have tix to MVMCP, then plan your MK day around it. Wait to make your plans for other parks when the calendar is out.

I am iPad incompatible. I cannot cut and paste! :rotfl: Ok, re: the making all of your ADR's at once--is this exclusive to resort guests, or does it apply to those staying off-site also? My ADR dates fall during our last week of school and that would be AWESOME if I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn several days that week!

Hi all! This is my first WDW trip at Christmastime! I'm so excited! I do have some questions about how the whole MVMCP thing works.

1) So, when the dates for the party are listed (somewhere near May, I've been reading...) I call a Cast Member and purchase tix or can I purchase online? How does this process work?
2) I can't advance book for anything until June 5. That shouldn't stop me from getting MVMCP tix, right?
3) It seems that tix are pretty competitive. Do I really need to get up at the break of day to get tix?
4) I'll be there from 12/12-12/18. A CM told me that there's no guarantee that MVMCP will be on one of those dates. For those of you who have been, what's been your experience with availability?

Finally, on an unrelated, but still Disney topic, what are the changes that Free Dining will be offered while we're there? Purely by chance, we got it last time and I'm hoping for similar luck. :-)

Thanks in advance! :santa:

I would personally love to do Le Cellier for lunch. I've never been and everyone tells me it is a must. Yup we did it and loved it making a must do again in Dec for us Other dining things I'd like to do are: CRT or Akershaus, and La Hacienda de San Angel.

I do have a few questions though... My 180 ADR date is June 5th. Does that mean I can only making my dining reservations for the first day of my trip (Dec 2)? Or can I do my entire stay on that day? You can put your whole trip pending how many days your trip is... the rule is 180 days + 10 so if your trip is less than 10 your good to book all ADRs on June 5th now is you have a longer trip say it's 15 days you will have to call on each day for the remaining 5 days at their 180 day mark...

Next question... if MVMCP tickets go on sale May 1st and the park operating calender isn't out until the 2nd or 3rd week in May....how are you all deciding when to buy tickets? Are you waiting for the calender to be released?

Can't help on this last question...

As a previous poster mentioned, be sure to factor in that the Dining Plan (quick service one at least) only gives you 2 CS meals a day. So you'd still be paying out of pocket for 1 meal if you intended to eat 3 meals through counter service.

My plan is to take some granola bars/cereal and have a quick b-fast before we hit the parks. then use our 2 CS meals for lunch and dinner. We got free dining for our December stay. I'll probably pay OOP for 2 sit down meals (at least 1 for the CP package)

How did you get free dining for December? I'm booked then, but I don't see any Free Dining offers??

Hello Fellow December Disboard Members!

My boyfriend and I will be arriving on December 6! We're staying at the Beach Club and I cannot wait! My childhood consisted of yearly December Disney trips but with high school and college it was impossible to get out of school and now that I'm graduating college next month I won't have school in December!! :yay: This is also my first trip being 21 so I'm looking forward to drinking around the world as well as eating at Le Cellier, seeing the Christmas decorations, listening to Christmas music in the parks, and I'm most excited for MVMCP!! :santa:

Hi! How do you know which restaurants have the Candlelight Processional Package?:santa:

So is anyone else starting to plan their ADR's? Or am i the only one? DW, DSis and I had a meeting yesterday as to where and when. I hope I can them all for us.

I have definately begun planning our ADRs. Making our list of must-do's & going from there. I'll be so glad to see December park hours out so I can do more definate planning!

Thank you! That was helpful! And great because my planned ADR for that night was either Tokyo Dining or Coral Reef, both of which are covered! Woo hoo! Anybody have any recommendations for restaurants. We ate at Les Chefs de France last time and loved it, but we want to try different places. Any recommendations? We aren't interested in the Steakhouse, since neither of us are steak people...:santa:

Yesterday, I booked our trip at Art of Animation 12/12/12-12/18/12, base tix, with dining plan. I, like everyone else, is on the lookout for free dining plan while we're there. Reading though various posts and websites and such, it seems that IF the free dining is offered for a value resort, it will only be the quick service....we would have to upgrade to a moderate resort to get the regular dining option.

So, I went ahead and checked priced for our dates, Port of Orleans - French Quarter, park hopper tix. If we got the dining plan free, it would actually be CHEAPER to go with that package. That is...IF the dining plan is offered. Otherwise, we couldn't even really use the free dining. We can't eat quick service food for 5 days - we just can't do it. We'd end up paying for "real" food anyway!

When do we expect to hear about free dining for December? For those Disney-goers more experienced than I, please offer your opinions/advice on this situation! I would really appreciate the advice! :santa:

Patience is a virtue here........ FD for Dec was not announced untl August last year.

I recieved a free dining pin code in February.

When Art of Animation dates opened up, I called to see if I could switch resorts and still keep the free dining. At that time, AoA was not eligible for free dining.

As for dates of MVMCP, sites like touring plans offer their best guess as to when this year's dates will be. It looks like, especially in Dec. they are typically held Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. Likely ending Dec 18.

There's a good chance that the last couple of MVMCP events will sell out. It's best to purchase your tickets as soon as possible. Based on your dates, you'll want to get your tickets as soon as you can and hope that the weather is good for the date you picked.

I agree, and while I wouldn't try waiting until within the window of time you can view a weather forecast....... there's also no huge hurry. The last couple parties didn't sell out until November last year.

You don't HAVE vto upgrade to a moderate resort to get a regular dining plan. You can pay to upgrade your Free Quick Service Dining Plan to a regular Dining Plan at these rates below:

Adult non-peak: $16.55 per night
Child non-peak: $3.03 per night

So, Depending how many are in your party, it could be cheaper to stay at a Value and pay the upgrade cost....or it could be the worth the additional money to upgrade to a moderate, you'll have to price out what that additional charge would be for your family. For instance Value rack rates are about $90/night for Value and the PO hotels are about $150/night. If you have two adults and two children in a value upgrading to a regular dining plan from a FREE quick service dining plan that that would be an additional 39.27/night or about $275 for a 7 night stay. Average value + additional upgrade charge brings your cost per night to about $130. You may want to save the $20 a night and stay at a value or spend the extra $20 and upgrade to a moderate.

Also regarding if FREE dining will be offered....no one knows!! There are a few people over in the December Code Watch thread that have received codes for Free Dining already! Which could be a sign of what the future holds.... :confused3
