December 2012 Code Watch

That's what I tried, also...cleared history, cookies cleaner, disc clean-up and opened a new email account, went back and saved a trip. maybe I'll add the maps, too!

I think the dates may have been 12/1-12/21 but I'm not 100% sure. We are going 12/8-12/17 and my dates fell into it.

I will say the resort choices were limited with my pin. My 1st and 2nd choices weren't available. But, I'd rather save the money so it wasn't that big of a deal to me.

I can only hope for that PIN...if we were to get it and it was through the 21st, i would add and come a day sooner just to get the freee dining for the whole time we were there! we are booked and paid for Dec. 22-27 and were told that even if a PIN was given or free dining was offered as long as you are therefor one day offered we woild get it for the whole trip! heres to crossing my fingers for that one!

Add me to the waiting for a Pin Club! We are booked for dec 10-16th at POR in the royal rooms!!

I went under DH profile and priced out a couple vacation quotes but never saved them... few days later I received an email about "your resort pics and more" with a PIN for 30% off room. I also received the same offer at my email address after logging in and pricing vacations as well. It wouldn't hurt to go do that... There were a few ppl on here saying they received similar emails.

Sadly, there are no pin codes for us yet when I called yesterday. Who knows, we may get one in the mail since I told the CM the dates we want to go. Gotta wait and see.

I'm already subbed on this thread, but when I joined, it was more of a pipe dream and I've only posted once. I was actually hoping for a fall trip to DL for Cars Land, but airfare is way too high this year, so we tabled that idea.

Now, dh has decided that IF free dining comes out, we are going to WDW instead! Our dates are still flexible, but it will be either of the first two weeks in December. So, like many of you, I can hardly wait until Aug!

I will be making ADRs, just to be safe, of course. Should we expect the park hours to be out sometime in mid-May?

For those of you who are December trip veterans, is the weather ever warm enough to swim? How often has it rained on you?

Regards,
C.

We have been in December before and that year it was warm enough to swim, but each year is different (we live very close to Florida with the same climate), so you never know! We had no rain during our December trip and typically December is not one of the rainy months, so I would never worry about that!

I am also itching to book a trip for the 2nd/3rd week of December to be back home for Christmas, but we can only 'afford' to go if Free Dining is offered again, so I'm really hoping and praying that we'll hit luck this year! I will also make my ADR's just in case, but am holding off on making a hotel reservation as of yet. I really don't want to book the whole trip, get my hopes up and then I am disappointed and heartbroken if free dining is not offered. I have also tried everything to get a pin, but I am not even receiving ANY Disney emails, in my inbox and spam/trash using two different email accounts - hotmail and gmail, so I don't hold out much hope on receiving a pin.

I gotta say though, the wait and learning to have some patience is killing me:rotfl:

It's my 40th birthday in Dec, and I want to go! Hubby says yes, if we can save the money. So here's for free dining!

We've been in December 4 times. Typically the weather is gorgeous...... sweatshirts in the AM, warm in the afternoon, cool in the evenings. As long as the sun is out, you're probably good to swim 90% of the time. The pool at the Pop Century was kept around 83 degrees.

The one exception was Dec 2010, and you've probably heard the horror stories about how cold that was. My daughter still swam. IN the water is fine. It's the walk (run) back to the room that will do you in. That's why we always request a room close to the pool.

We got rained on one day out of 10 in 2010. We got rained on 2 days out of 10 in 2011 (SOAKED.... got caught pulling out onto BTMRR in a sudden downpour in the dark!).

I'm really heat intolerant, so December at Disney is just this side of heaven. Worth the risk of the occasional cold front.

Just booked 12/16 - 12/22 at Fort Wilderness in our camper but will switch to a hotel if free dining or room only discount comes out....either way I'll be there!:wizard:

we were there on that cold xmas week! no that bad we still went swimming on xmas eve(just to send home pics to all those that were sitting in the snow) I will take the off chance of cold to spend xmas in the world!

Weather in December can be anything. You name it. But rain is likely to be short and over in a day or less because that time of year most rain is from cold fronts passing through, not from heat build up or tropical systems. I've been to grandma's house for Christmas lunch wearing shorts and a t-shirt growing up and I've been wearing long-johns and a heavy coat. We're a little further north, but it isn't impossible for Orlando to drop into the 40s and when it does it feels COLD, because it will usually also be windy and the higher humidity makes it feel worse than it is. I've been in Pittsburgh on a cold day with a high of 18* with snow flurries and felt less cold than I do down here in Florida when it is in the 30s all because of the humidity and wind.

You will not know until the day or two before what the weather will be like in December - and even that could chance a day later.

How bad is Pop Warner influence on park attendance/hotels.

Planning on either a 7 or 10 day trip sometime between 12/2 and 12/16. Very excited now that we can get a direct flight from our local airport. Last trip was the "dream" trip where we stayed in a 2 BR Villa at BCV in 2009. Reigning in the budget a bit and will likely stay at POR. Need to get the free dining though. Keeping our fingers crossed!

Going to DW Oct 22 to 31, do you think that they will have FD. We went Dec, 2011 with FD, and had a great time, no rain, but would like to try Oct.

Best place to ask that question would be on the Theme Parks/Attraction board. I had asked the same question with pretty much the same dates, last year (our original dates were 12/1-12/11/11). You should be able to use the search feature to pull up old threads about Pop Warner.

Word on the street is that it has very little impact on park attandance. Don't make the mistake though of staying at one of the resorts they are at. Historically they have at one of the mods and the all-star resorts. Word is that it can get pretty rowdy on the buses and late at night around the resort grounds. Stay somewhere else and they probably won't be more than a blip on your radar screen.

Do be aware they close DHS early one night for a party.

Haven't received any discounts (yet, hopefully i'll get something or a general offer will come out in a few months) but it's finally official that me and DBF will be there December 10-17th for my Graduation! I'll be graduating with a Masters Degree and Disney was my one request, haha. Fingers crossed for Free Dining since it's the best discount for us. I'll be booking in the next few weeks at AoA (but will hopefully be moving to another value for FD).

Where did you find the pin - I have a similar email but don't see a pin code...I've never received one before so wondering if I'm missing it!

Thanks
