We finally got a pin via snail mail. 30% off for 12/01/12-12/20/12. We were able to upgrade to 4 room at Coronado Springs We wanted to try AoA Little Mermaid rooms, but we're pretty sure there won't be any discounts offered for the newest resort. Now if they'd just offer free dining for December 10th-20th I can change us to a package and save more since we're feeding 11 people.

Did I read that FD is typically announce in early August? Has it typically been offered to Disney Visa holders first?

Kind of a newbie around here. We are booked for the Fort for 12/22/12-1/1/13. This will be the first time we have ever stayed on property. I know there are never really any good discounts for the Fort but with a big family of 9 we cant afford to stay anywhere else. And we are going to take advantage of being able to cook at our site to save money on food. I cant wait.

Yes and No. In 2009, for December, the free dining was offered to Disney Visa holders 3 days prior to general public release. In 2010 and 2011 it was just general public release.

Its the same throughout the year, sometimes the promotions are released first to Disney Visa holders and other periods its simply a general public discount.

Generally free dining for December has become available in August.

I guess I should correct my dates. We'll be there December 10th to the 18th. This may change depending on any offers between now and then.

Since we had originally planned to go last December, I found that I still had some discount offers (obviously, they have expired). Don't know why I never threw them out

Last year we had received two discount offers. The dates on one was from 11/26 - 12/22/2011 and the other was from 12/1-12/22/2011. (The bolded is so that no one mistakes these for current discounts.)

So there is still a chance that there will be a few discounts available for your dates. I'm still hoping for some for free dining again. Last year it was offered from 11/26-12/3/2011 with black-out dates during Pop Warner week then IIRC, picked up again for the following week. This year we are going 11/29-12/8.

I didn't save anything, or book anything. Just went while I was under my profile info after update. Then Voila, I got a pin. This is the same plan that worked for another DISer.

I've tried all of this repeatedly and never gotten a pin. So while it works for some, for others...... not so much.

Have you ordered a planning DVD or park maps? It seems like every time I have ordered a DVD or park map I've gotten a code. I have received two this year that were good for December.

The one I received yesterday was for Free Dining.

The other one I received about a month ago was only for 10% off.

We are planning on early December. It will be our first trip to Disney, our daughter's 5th birthday, and our son will have just turned 1yo! We have a lot to celebrate and can't think of a better place than WDW!

We never get pins, no matter what I do, lol. Order planning dvd, save some quotes, play with the site, update our info....nothing!!!!

I'd love for it to prove me wrong this year & send me a pin though!

I will say the resort choices were limited with my pin. My 1st and 2nd choices weren't available. But, I'd rather save the money so it wasn't that big of a deal to me.

What were your 1st and 2nd choices?

I wanted ASMo or POP. Neither were available. When I looked online only ASMu and CS were available with my pin. However when I called to book All Star Sports was also available. I didn't inqure about other Mods as we are staying value level this trip.
