December 2009 Code Watch

Free dining AHOY!

I upgraded (downgraded?) our package from a 40 % off PIN code to the Free Dining. 8 nights a POP century, Dec 12-20...it only includes the QS dining plan, but I paid to upgrade anyways....we have $289 over the other price, and end up with 1 additonal night of DDP (A $132 value for our party of 4).

While it would have been nice to have the standard DDP and save another $256 - this is an awesome deal and I am completely satisfied with it.

BTW, I DID ask about the price of a MOD...they said there was NO availability at ANY mod for my dates. Just FYI

Booked POFQ for 5 nights Nov. 29-Dec. 4 and 5 day basic tickets for me, DH, DS 5 and 8 with the FREE DINING $1714! Pop was sold out and even to upgrade to the regular dining plan it would have cost more to stay at a value than a moderate. Now to start watching the air fare prices and hoping for a good deal...

Well after all my waiting, finally the Visa free dining comes out but we wn't save any money!!! We got a better deal with our land/sea package including dining and park passes....

Oh well....at least now I know and can just keep an eye out for any other package discounts that may help us....

Congrats to all that are saving money with the free dining!!!

If you don't mind me asking what type of deal did you get with the land/sea package? I would love to cruise on the wonder!

You can apply the pin code to you and up to three other (or was it three total... someone will correct me if I'm wrong) reservations that are "in your party"

Hope that helps!

Thank you very much! We're booking three rooms so we'll all be able to use it!

I just wanted to welcome you to the boards. :welcome::welcome: Thanks for posting out here. It's nice to meet fellow DIS lovers along with them being Canadian. If you need help with anything...just ask or PM me and I'll try and help you.

AHHHH I don't know what to do - we have ASMU suite from Dec9-19 booked with dining---,Now with FD coming out should I go to POR and save alot of $$ or go to AKL still save a couple hundred $$ (for a standard view room) with FD. We have myself DH, DD#1-8 DD#2-6 and DD#3 who will be 3 a week after our trip (so I don't think a pack n play will work for her) should I give up the 2 rooms and extra bathroom or not??????:eek:

well this is how it worked out for us.

POP NOV 27th-DEC 7th Quick service meal plan was free, but upgraded and got the reg. Dining plan for a extra $200.00

So i feel i got a pretty good deal.

We booked our land/sea vacation in June 2008 and are going in December 2009.

4 days on land at the Poly
3 day cruise in Cat 6 with verandah
the land/sea package includes 5 day hopper passes
we added the dining plan
2 adults and 2 children
no insurance (bought it on my own)
no transfers (we found a van for cheaper for our party)
no airfare (they charge too much and I got better rates)
$4239 including all the taxes and whatnot

If we booked it separately with FREE dining, it would be:
4 days at the Poly = 2673.52 (this is with a 4 day hopper, not 5)
3 day cruise Cat 6 = 2125.92

Total: $4799.44 which is $559.68 more than what we paid with the package.

Now, many people post that they find better savings in booking land separate from sea, but obviously we got a better deal, even with free dining by booking the package.

WOW - great news for all of you who can use it!!
We can't - we're staying at BLT on 40% military rate, and using those salute tickets, so it isn't cost effective.
I was hoping for room only discount, to add a night, but oh well.

I'm guessing that Disney wants to make sure that the people who are coming will spend time in restaurants or make it easier for people who are thinking about it to come if they don't have to spend $$ on food. All I know is that ADRs are going to be harder to come by!! I better be ready at the crack of dawn on my first day.

I would switch, but I have 1 4 yr old boy, so admittedly, my perspective is probably off. LOL Are your girls at the age where they need a lot of bathroom time? Can you have the kids take a bath at night, and have the grownups shower in the am? How much time do you spend in the room?

I'd have no problem having the 3 girls share a bed, or maybe having the 3 yr old share with the grownups. Alternatively, maybe you could do an air mattress?

does any one know when the general public code will be coming out cause we are in canada we can't get the disney visa so it would be nice to get a general public code
thanks

rumor is Sunday at the earliest, more than likely Monday if at all.....could be either FD or room only. I am guessing FD because to me, psychologically that has guests thinking everything is covered and may dip into their pockets for more shopping ( which is where I THINK WDW may be hurting the most, just based on the real world retail woes) so they really get rack on resort and FREE anything sounds better than discount room;)
However, either way it is a savings over non offers, so keeping fingers crossed!

I would switch. I don't think the girls will require an extra bathroom of their own at this age (although I have two boys ages 8 and 5 who I have to remind them to brush their teeth so maybe girls are different? :confused3) At POR you can get a trundle bed in the bayou section and I'm sure one of the girls will think it's "awesome" to have that.

Ok Ok OK so based on what Brooke1 said- i called WDW and checked what it would be to stay in the suite, and upgrade the free quick service dining to the plus or whatever (the regular dining i call it) and it saves us $800 - so I think we'll stay there.

Thanks to you all and your information I just called and upgraded from 7 nights at the Sports to 14 nights at Music (Sports was not available for all the nights) from November 29th to December 13th. for $1804.36.

It saved me about $200 from the 40% and 30 some % off room only rates. Not to mention the upcoming ticket price change.

Thank you again and hope to see you there!

Wow! That a great bump up to your vacation. Congratulations!

If U Had Wings, thank you so much. It is not our record though, that would be 24 days.

As much as we love DW I think I will pass on being there too near Christmas though. :scared1:

I have a Grand Gathering booked in December. I am hearing that the park pass prices are going to be going up shortly. If I am not paid in full will they change my price to reflect the higher pass price? Or will my quoted price stay the same. I have the deposit on the room & everything - just haven't sent in the final payment.
If I am going to get hit with the higher pass price & I need to get that payment in ASAP. Thanks!
