December 2009 Code Watch

Doesnt it say something about only good on bookings up to 10 days?

That is so silly to me! I like to stay 14 days . They could always say free dining is only valid for up to 10 days after inital date of arrival.

Does this rule out people who stay over 10 days? That wouldnt make sense to me. I thought it used to be good for up to 14 days max.

Can anyone clarify for me?

with my free dining code that I got about a month and a half ago I was able to book 13 days with free dining. So I think the limit was 14 days.

Just read on the November code watch thread that someone recieved an email from Disney Visa today stating the following:

""Hurry, before this offer goes on sale to the general public on July 27!"

Just a heads up!

I'm helping another couple who doesn't want to get a Disney Visa.

for 14 days and I was alright with free dining. It said per night and it didn't have any exclusions/time limits listed. Check when you call , but you should be fine for 14 days.

YAY, my refund showed this morning on Chase for my cancelled vacation for Sept/Oct trip and I was able to call and book December with the Visa.......YAY, the kids are going to be soooooo excited. I hate missing Food and Wine festival this year but seriously I'm just so thrilled to be going back and my 3 youngest have never seen the Christmas decorations...etc so this will be a good time to go :)

YAY YAY....going to change that signature!

I got the same message in my Disney Visa Email. The exact words were " Hurry, before this offer goes on sale to the general public on July 27!"

We were able to take advantage of the Free Dining for our Nov-Dec trip! I hope everyone else can too--- :)

Since the Disney Visa offer limited stays at Value resorts to the Quick Service Dining Plan, do you think the "this offer will be open to the general public July 27" means the exact same thing? Meaning, will the values be limited to Quick Service for FD and the only way to get Regular FD would be to book a Moderate or above?

Because seriously.....If I'd booked with a Disney Visa (or worse yet, opened a Disney Visa account specifically to obtain the FD offer) and then the general public got a BETTER offer such as regular free dining at values instead of the quick service Disney Visa was offered, I wouldn't be thrilled.

When my DH called to book the Disney Visa FD offer for Pop he was told that he could upgrade for to the Basic Dining plan for $186. So you can stay at Pop with the Basic Dining Plan but it's not really Free it just won't cost you as much.

I feel this way because then everyone who has a value resort booking right now under the Disney Visa offer would be changing to the GP offer when it arrives. I would find this to be very foolish on Disney's part to do this a few days later with the GP discount. It wouldn't make sense. You'd be tying up the CMs with unnecessary extra work.

What I'm afraid of is the GP discount offer may not be as good as the Disney Visa offer somehow. I'm helping someone book a trip and they really don't want to get a Disney Visa credit card; so, I'm hoping for the same offer as Disney Visa got on Friday.

I would be surprised if it wasn't the same as Disney Visa they just recieved priority booking dates to ensure they got what resort they wanted! Disney is hurting with this economy and they need to figure out how to fill their rooms. So I truely would be surprised come Monday if this is not the case! :thumbsup2 You may even see it a lil after Midnight the codes posted. All though the last free dining they kept under the hat till that day! should be interesting!

First off, you can upgrade for $10 per person per day to the regular DDP - so it's still a pretty good deal.

Second, i guarantee the GP will not get a BETTER deal...it will most certainly be the same. (This is probably why they did that restriction, because it IS going to the GP, unlike last year where they limited FD to the Disney Visa holders.

I had e-mail on Friday had checked just by chance and Disney Visa free dinning had been e-mailed . I upgraded to FQ , we've stayed there b 4 and still saved money. Gives alittle more room for the 4 of us.:cool1

Has anyone been able to get the FD through Christmas week or is Dec. 17th truly the LAST day for this discount????

If you check in on the 17th, you will get FD for every day of your stay. But you must check in on the 17th, no later.

Disney is really shooting themselves in the foot by offering FD to the GP. By all accounts, they will not fill up their resorts, and few new ressies will be made. Instead, those who already had reservations will simply apply the discount and reduce Disney's revenue. I firmly believe the e-mail pin codes are random, because if Disney had any sense they would have sent those codes to anyone registered with Disney.com but who had yet to make a reservation for October thru December, thereby giving them incentive to come. But to send out codes to people who already had ressies (we received one for FD and now we're saving a bundle) only hurts Disney in the end. No matter how many new ressies get made, all it will do in the end is create a point of break-even for Disney.

Someday, someone is going to have to provide the textbook of Economics 101 to the execs in Burbank.

I for one hope they don't figure that one out. I wouldn't buy the FD seperate because I personally don't think it is the best deal. For some it is but for me and my family it isn't. Plus I miss the appetizer and gratuity being included;)

Here's hoping for FD on Monday.

DH and I were discussing this last night. One reason we chose to pull DD out of school in Dec. just before Christmas break was to avoid crowds, becasuse we HATE crowds. Now with FD being offered to the general public, I worry that the crowds will be thicker. ACK! But then I tell myself that only so many people will yank their kids out of school, no matter how good the deal.

Any thoughts, Dec. trippers?

Also, does anyone know the days of the week and times that Fantasmic was shown LAST December? I'm hoping that can help me plan a bit for this year, since WDW is taking its sweet time releasing hours.
