December 2007 Waitlist Thread

It was a standard studio at BW, but I had to call them and get them back!! My spring plans changed and I didn't need as many points as I originally thought I would need because now I'm going back in mid-Jan with dd. So, I called MS back the other day, and was able to get Monday, the 10th added back on, but am waitlisted for the 11th. But, at least the 10th is the same preferred view as my original reservation...so hopefully I won't have to move. If so, I may just keep my POP reservation for the 11th.

I just booked a standard studio at AKV for Dec 1, the night before some friends are joining us for the Disney cruise. But their real love is VWL so I have a waitlist for a studio there for Dec. 1. I told them they win either way. If the waitlist comes through, they get to stay at their favorite place at Disney and if it doesn't, they get to try AKL for the first time. It's just one night so I think it's a perfect time to try something new.

I have a cash reservation for 12/1 concierge studio at AKL but I'm still hoping for my wait ist to come through to be able to use points. I've been on it since Day #1 of being able to book concierge though.

So do I even have a chance. I just booked Dec. 7th and 8th at OKW studio and am waitlisted for Dec. 6th and 9th. My girlfriend and I just decided to get away for my Bday. Plus the DHs can stay with the kids I have never been to Disney without kids and this would be so much fun. I know it is kind of late to book but what do you think the chances are. I'm dreaming.

Never say never!! Just wait it out and see what happens. Do you have anything booked for the 6th and 9th?? Just in case? I'm still hoping to get the night of the 11th but if I don't, so be it. I have POP booked so I have someplace to go!

We are waitlisted for a 1 br at either bcv or wl villas. this is my first time doing a waitlist, will they just notify me automatically? and how is everyone checking their waitlist online. i have not figured that out yet. right now we have a 1 br at ssr for 12/1-12/9, hoping for one of the other two..

Since June 1, all waitlists are now automatic. You will most likely receive an updated confirmation in the mail a week or two after the waitlist comes through.

The website is in "real time", though, so you can check it daily. Once you get logged in, click on the "My Vacation Points" link on the right-hand side of the screen. From that screen, scroll down and click the "View Vacation Details" link. Scroll down and it will show you your upcoming vacations and list where those vacations are presently booked. If it has changed to the waitlisted resort, then your waitlist came through.

Good luck to all of us still waitlisted...escpecially for those hard-to-get dates between 12/1 and 12/16.

So, am I totally crazy or what. I canceled my waitlist and ressie at OKW for the 6th-10th of Dec. and just used the extra points for a mod resort. I had points banked from last year that I needed to use and even with this trip and a 2 br at SSR for 6 nights is Jan. I still have approx. 100 points I'll need to bank. I was afraid of nothing coming through for me so I just took the plunge. I'll miss the microwave but, it's my bday, and just a GF and I are going and no kids, no husband. I CAN'T WAIT. I did feel bad for a second that I'm going without them but, that passed. Disney here we come.

We're all waiting. rumor has it that alot of these waitlists will come through around the 30 day mark. If people can't make the trip that's when they will cancel their rooms. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this

We're waitlisted for a 1br or studio at VWL for Dec 9-15. We currently have a studio at SSR for those dates which will be cancelled if our waitlist comes through! We stayed at SSR in August and it was very nice, but we LOVE the VWL. Called MS a few days ago to make other changes and found out my waitlist was put in their system incorrectly and thus I really wasn't on the waitlist...UGH...so what are my chances on either of them going through? I know I should just be happy that I have a place to stay already....

SECONDS later, DVC friend calls back. "Good thing I called to withdraw right away," she said. "The CM said our 2 bedroom JUST WENT THROUGH!" Hasty e-mails and phone calls later and we are IN our two bedroom at Saratoga Springs for 12/2-12/6!

Make sure to call periodically. I was waitlisted 12/25-12/28 for any studio or 1 bedroom and called today to check and a unit was found. It irritates me a little that the waitlist is supposed to be automatic and this seems to happen every time I am waitlisted.
