I had a preferred view at BWV and was on a waiting list for a Boardwalk view for Dec 16 'th and 17'th. I phoned yesterday and was surprised that a Boradwalk View was available, so I grabbed it. If I hadn't phoned would it have been automatically changed?
Newbie question here...are you locked in if you wait list? Or, can you change and/or cancel if the timing doesn't work for you?
Oh, thanks for the quick reply. Does this mean you're not locked in with any ressie you make DVC-wise?
So our ressies are 12/8-12/15 at SSR in a 1br. Have been waitlisted since July, but because my ressie is the week and not day by day there is little to no chance our waitlist for BWV will come through.
I called MS today and 8, 10, and 11 is available but the rest is not. Do I move my ressie to BWV and pray the rest will come through in less than 2 months, or just stay where I am...?We really don't want to pack and unpack but also want to stay somewhere different. Been at SSR a couple times now.

Waiting day-by-day you may have luck, but during the holidays for the whole week, well let's just say it isn't looking good.
I just don't know what to do????![]()
I had booked 2 studios at SSR for Dec 7th to 11th. I just cancelled one on Oct. 8th.(hopefully i made someone here happy). So I asked to be put on the waitlist for a 1BR anywhere. i just looked today and i got a 1BR at SSR. It only took 5 days to get it.![]()
So there is hope.
This will be our 1st time using the vacation club.![]()

My advise would be to stick with what you have. I know it is tempting to take the three days, but with the way these waitlists have been going lately, I wouldn't want to chance it. You have a wonderful week already reserved, and a couple of stress free months to prepare and anticipate your "holiday" trip. If you change that now, it could work out, or you could be worried about it right up until you leave. Maybe you could plan to spend some time over on the Boardwalk, eat at the Flying Fish-yum, check out the wonderful decorations in the BCV and BWV with the chocolate carosel and roller coaster and then you will get to enjoy a little bit of the Boardwalk without the stress. Good luck whatever you decide. That is our favorite time to go!Bumping - Any advise?
I just booked flights for a (somewhat) last-minute weekend solo trip, December 7-9, 2007. I thought I'd have no trouble getting a room since a) it's the weekend, and b) I really want SSR, and have found that there is very often availability at the larger resorts.
Well, shockingly (to me), there is only studio availability on the 7th, nothing on the 8th. I have put myself on a waitlist for an SSR studio... any thoughts on whether or not it might come through? At what point should I call back and ask if ANY studio is available, or put myself on a waitlist for any studio? I would really rather not spend one day each at 2 different places.
Any feedback?
Gosh, I'm surprised too! I would go on a waitlist for the 8th at any resort, although, I think you're right that SSR would probably come through first. I wouldn't take the chance, I would rather move than not have a room. Have you booked something through CRO?
Bobbi
PS. That's the weekend that we're going to be there. I'm moving from AKV on Saturday to VWL for a 3 night stay. It's going to be busy, for sure, but it's a great time to be at WDW!
