December 2007 Waitlist Thread

I hope everyone gets their dates...SSR had studios available this morning for my dates...I still can't believe it!

Well, the member of our group who is the DVC owner, checked her points this morning....no change. So I e-mailed the rest of the gang to go ahead with their Plan B reservations/packages. SECONDS later, DVC friend calls back. "Good thing I called to withdraw right away," she said. "The CM said our 2 bedroom JUST WENT THROUGH!" Hasty e-mails and phone calls later and we are IN our two bedroom at Saratoga Springs for 12/2-12/6!

I called MS today, after noticing that I would have 18 pts that I would lose if I don't use them..can't be banked, have to be used. So, I called to see if there were any studios, anywhere at WDW DVC, for the night of Dec 11. Figured it was better to use up some of those points at another DVC resort rather than paying for POP. The CM told me there was a studio at SSR that night...I muttered that it was my least favorite resort, she yelled 'hold the phone, hold onto your hat, give me a minute here!'...came back with 'I just grabbed a BW standard view studio for you for that night..not sure if you want it but it came up, I grabbed it and it's yours if you want it.' Ah yeah, I want it. If I have to move, I might as well be moving within the same resort. So...waitlisted for a preferred view for that night, which will eat up 3 more pts..leaving me with an excess of about 6 pts that will be wasted but that's no biggie. Yippie for me!!

We are at SSR 12/8-12/15

I just spread some pixie dust and gave up a 1BR at SSR on 12/16. We are waitlisted at BWV or BCV. Anyone want to trade a 1BR? hahahaha

At least you can waitlist....I didnt know you couldnt waitlist with incentive points! But thats ok.....patience is one virtue I was not blessed with....lol I would go bananas!!

Still nothing here either. I'm waiting for a 2br BWV, bw view (12/9-12/14). If it doesn't come through, at least I still have the BWV standard view (and some extra points). I guess I won't lose either way so I can't complain.

It's not really depressing. We have rooms @ SSR, but we're waitlisted for either BWV or BCV. Either way we'll still be in WDW 12/6 to 12/14.

still nothing here either.. since i found out how to do it, i have been checking dvc twice a day (ok, sometimes more.. ) we are waitlisted for a 1 BR at Beach Club Villa or Wilderness Lodge Villa for 12/1-12/9.. We have a 1 BR at SSR and should be happy with that, i just wanted a change..

I'm staying at WDW for 2 nights prior to our cruise on the Magic on Dec 8th. There are 7 of going for a mini family reunion.

We had reservations at POR for the 6th and 7th, but I just bought into SSR, and the guide was able to get us 3 studios on the 7th, and will waitlist us for 2 studios the night of the 6th. There will only be 4 of us on the 6th, so we can all fit in one studio if needed. I just need to cancel the room at POR by 22 Oct to avoid a penalty since we have room-only reservations.

It looks like a few of you are confirmed at SSR while you are waiting on other properties for those dates. So hopefully we'll all get what we want!

We have a ressie for OKW - 1 bedroom for 11/25-12/8. The other day I called to see if a 2 bedroom would be available from 11/30 thru the end of our stay. The CM placed us on a waiting list. What do you think our chances may be and should I call back in a couple of weeks?

I had a preferred view at BWV and was on a waiting list for a Boardwalk view for Dec 16 'th and 17'th. I phoned yesterday and was surprised that a Boradwalk View was available, so I grabbed it. If I hadn't phoned would it have been automatically changed?

That's the question....I'd like to "yes, it would have been changed," but it's hard to tell.

That is "the" week that DVCers like to go so it is peak DVC season. I think chances are high that you'll get your waitlist to come through though, especially at OKW. I just don't think it will come through as quickly as "a couple of weeks." I expect alot more waitlists will start coming through around the 31-day-out point.

IS Disney good at granting waitlist requests? We are debating about booking at SSR in Dec and would like VWL. Any thoughts? Should I just take the week at SSR and hope for the best?

Do you have a week at SSR currently booked? I think Dec. is close to sold out already for DVC rooms.

VWL is the smallest WDW DVC and very popular at Christmas. I'd say book what you can somewhere on site and waitlist. No, the odds aren't good at this point that your waitlist will come through (lots of folks have been waitlisted for VWL since 7-months out and will be ahead of you on the waitlist), but you never know what happens as your vacation dates near. Sometimes the waitlist comes through in the last few days before your arrival.
