December 15, 2012 A Yo-HO-HO-HO Holiday Fantasy!

Well ya'll, it's finally Friday!!!:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: It took it all week to get here.....................but it is finally here!!! Anyone got plans for the week-end? DW and I are a headn' over to Downtown Disney this Sunday. Planning on trying to spend all of my money in one big swoop!!!:cool1: (Wish I could win that lottery!!!)

I would like to :welcome::welcome::welcome: NC State Tigger and Family to the cruise. So glad you are joining us!!! I'm not sure when the formal and semi - formal and Pirates night are going to be. If you do a search on here for a Eastern Caribbean navigator that should give you a pretty good idea what nights these are going to be.

so here's an opinion question ..... is Palo/Remy worth it? My husband isn't necessarily a finicky eater but he's rather particular and doesn't like too many different kinds of foods. his choice would be Palo but my choice would be Remy. Since we can't agree, we are opting out on the special adult dining for this cruise.

Should I revisit the decision? :scratchin :confused3

We totally think it is worth it. Some of the foods were things that I would have never paired together, but somehow it melded together perfectly. There were so many courses, but thankfully they were smaller. We were quite satisfied by the time we left. We are doing it again this cruise along with Palo brunch. :cool1:

You are suppose to. I can't remember exactly the steps but in order to pick a port arrival time most info must be entered.

What we ended up finding out - is that you have to sequentially go through each screen (think there are 7 in total); before each one is unlocked and you can enter information. (Such as port time arrival, etc.). We called Disney Cruise Line because we were trying to get to our port arrival time slot - and it showed "locked". There is nothing that says you have to go through each step first(at least that we are aware of). But once you do that; you should be good to go.

LuvEeyore: Many thouhts and prayers sent your way for your brother! So saddened to hear that - but am hoping that everything goes better from here on out.

Our family will be sailing on the December 15th Fantasy cruise.

We would like to schedule a dinner at Palo one night. Can anyone tell me what nights the MDR has formal and semi-formal nights? What night is the pirate party? And lastly, is there any way to know when we would be scheduled at AP for dinner---I would not want to miss the second night at AP.

Thanks for any help!!

Formal Night is Sunday, Semi Formal is Thursday, Tuesday is Pirate Party. There is no way of knowing what dining rotation you have until you board. There are three different rotations. I believe they are ERAERAE, AERAERA, and RAERAER, you can check on the FAQ sticky on the forum page for sure. You can contact your TA or Disney and request a specific dining rotation. We have done this in the past and this time b/c we booked Remy for dinner and we wanted to be in a specific MDR for pirate night and formal night.

Calling all past Castaway club gifts :wave2:

Does anyone happen to have a former castaway club gift they don't want anymore that is in good condition. If so I would be willing to exchange our the back pack we get on the ship for it. We already have the back pack from our February cruise and although we like it we only need one not two.

Just checking. :scratchin

OMG TYVM i was wondering the same thing. I wanted to make sure that we didnt schedule REMYs on any of those nights. You answer was greatly appreciated. We look forward to meeting you all. Almost there on the posts to get on the FE list.

Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok what's happening here!!!! I looked, and looked, and looked, and looked, and looked and finally found us back on page three!!! :scared1: Thank goodness I did find us and now we are up on page one again.

Sounds like everyone has been able to get the reservations for the cruise they hoped for!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1: That is such Great news. Remember if you can't get that specific reservation online, once you board, you can go and see if you can get them on board. Disney does hold back a few spots for Palo, Remy, and for a specific dining rotation. :thumbsup2

Linda, it takes roughly about 50 minutes to an hour to drive from Orlando to Port Canaveral. (Depending how fast you drive!!!:drive: ) This is with no stops in between to eat lunch. You need to add in time to get your luggage at the airport, get to your car or Disney Bus, how ever you plan to get to the port, as well.

You will need time to get your luggage so about 30-45 mins.
It takes an hour to drive to the port from Orlando.
If you are renting a car then you would need an extra 30 mins.

So 1 or later should be fine. If you were doing Disney transfers you would not have to worry about getting your luggage or car so you could have an arrival time around 12:30 but of course you would check in at the airport with the disney transfers so port arrival time really doesn't matter.

Hi David and Happy100. Thanks for the info on arrival time. This is extremely helpful!

I feel like I've been absent on this board for almost 2 weeks...:faint::faint::faint: but it's time to get back at it. We've had so much stuff happening in this time - I just don't know where the time has gone. No...wait, yes I do....it's just too much to put in here::yes::::yes::

Hiya folks, my husband and I booked our second cruise for this date and we are excited. It's our first 7 night cruise.

I have nearly read all this thread but wow, there's a lot to read so I'm gonna take a break now. You all have been active for a while on this one. That's exciting to see. Although I've been a dis member for a while, I'm not all that active anymore but it's always fun to come in and meet new people.

See you around and happy cruising to all!

oh, and one more thing ... i wanted to ask: what is a 'dummy' cruise?

I am so excited to find this. We are going on this Fantasy cruise on Dec. 15 and it is our 1st Disney Cruise for all of us. My husband Bill, my self, Vicki, and our daughters Eliza 5 and Emerson 4. We are celebrating my husband's birthday and the holidays. We want to participate in the FE and SM. I have been reading the thread to understand it all. I signed up on the website and want to join the Facebook page too. SUPER EXCITED! :cool1:

This will be our 6th Disney cruise. My husand and I, with our 3 boys, and my mother and mother-in-law. This will be our first on the Fantasy and during Christmas. I can't wait!

We are currently crafting our fish exteder but need to know where to go to get the FB page. Which means i need at least 10 posts So here we go:thumbsup2

Just wanted to say hi again.

Sorry we have been MIA, been a busy few weeks. Hopefully I can read through your thread this week and join in the fun.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Good Morning and Hello! I'm a long time lurker of the Disboards, but this might actually be my first post. Myself, along with my DH, DS6 and DS5 are booked on this cruise. It's our first Disney cruise, heck, it's our first cruise period! We're so SO excited!

We were originally booked with a few other families and they've one by one all backed out. :( So, it's just us now, and though were sad they aren't coming, we're still ready to have a fabulous time. I already have a beautiful FE that my MIL made for us last Christmas and we were just going to exchange between the families we were traveling with, but that plan has obviously taken a dive. Anyhow, I'd love to find out about joining the FE group here.

We've been booked and paid in full on this cruise for over a year now, and I can't believe that it's almost here. I booked our shore excursions today as well as some spa services and Remy. We got almost everything we wanted except the cabana on Castaway Cay. Totally bummed about that, but I'm sure they book fast.

Anyhow, I'm off to read back on this thread and extract any information I can.

Fairest1ofall --- welcome to the board and hi there!!! I remember my first cruise last year and it also happened to be a Disney one. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!! Trust me when I say you are really going to have the cruising bug afterwards so you have been warned.

What I'm really excited about is all the families that are coming on this cruise. Disboards is making this much more exciting for me. The build-up, the chatter and the excitement is so much fun. I love it!!!

Thank you! I'm sure I will be bit with the bug. We're lovers of all things Disney. We live close to Disneyland and go a few times a month and we usually make at least one trip to WDW a year. And we're DVC members runDisney runners as well! Just add a notch to the Disney belt....

Good Morning Everyone!

We will officially be joining you on this cruise. It will be me, Tara, DH Mike, DD Sienna- who turns 7 on 12/15 and DS Chase who will be 5 next month.

I saw the FE cut off as October 1st so if that is still true, we would like to join in.

I also signed in on your cruise web page on page one, if there is anything else going on let me know, as I only skimmed some of this thread.

Thanks for your help and we are looking forward to this awesome cruise.
I just saw that this. I signed up on the cruiser list and selected YES to FE. Does that mean I'm on the list? Do I need to do something else? I saw a post that requested that I PM someone, but I don't think I have enough posts to do that yet.

TIA
