December 11, 2010 7 Night Western Magic (Part DEUX)

Aww thank you cruisn! Were just after a dinner reservation so it sounds like we should be ok, the brunch sounds lovely but I think we will leave it for. a future cruise!

I would have loved to have joined the fe exchange but we have to bring some much stuff over from the uk for the wedding I don't think I can manage anymore!

I don't know :confused3

I've tried to book my son for Palo since his booking window opened on Sept 12th. He is a silver Castaway Club member.

I've not been able to book brunch for him at the time that the rest of us are going and there does not seem to be many brunch spaces left.

I think that I will check back when the 75 day window comes along. Maybe they will open up more reservations at that time. :confused3

There are plenty of spaces showing still available for dinner though, if that is what you are looking for:thumbsup2

Is there a time and day you want me to check for you to see if it is available right now? I'd be more than willing to do that for you.

Aw darn it, I was hoping for custom FE's hand sewn with love by you! lol
We missed out on Palo Brunch cause I couldn't decide when to do it. So, because I can never get thsi straight...the 75 day mark is Sept 27th, right? Does that mean I need to be online the 26th at 9PM or the 27th at 9PM (we are pacific time here).

I don't know why that is always so hard for me to figure out:confused:

Yes I think the 75 day mark is Sept 27 because that is the date that the cruises must be paid in full:confused3

You would want to be online at 9pm on Sept 26th because the bookings should open at midnight on Sept 27th.

Hey wait........... I shouldn't tell you that because you might get to the brunch I am trying to book before I do :rolleyes1

I'm not too worried about it. If I don't get it online, I plan on going when we get onboard and arranging it then.

girls are getting excited about the FE exchange...we are still waiting on stateroom # assignment and will get it to you as soon as we get it.....
hoping we can stir up some more intrest in this as is seems that the list of participants is rather tiny!!

maybe we are traveling on a half empty boat?? anyway to find out how full the ship will be?

also, do people do load up the FE's all at once, or stop by each day or every other day to put things in? and what time of day? just want my girls to be prepaired if they will not be getting something everyday..dont want them to be disappointed

cant wait, we are only 82 days away!!!!

we are staying at the LaQuinta Oceanfront near the pier....if anyone can suggest a place to eat with young kids it would be appreciated (something right there we can walk to )

For all of us Dec 11 cruisers who have been lost in the mix I thought I would start over fresh with a new meet! Since our fearless leaders (or at least the folks who started our original thread) have "jumped ship", I decided to start a new thread so that we can edit the first post to add important information as we get closer to that date!

Welcome aboard everyone! Hope our group starts to grow soon!

If you have any suggestions for info to add to this post let me know!

I, on the other hand, hope the list of Fish Extender participants stays on the small side:thumbsup2 That means less things that I have to try and fit into suitcases for travel. We tend to only travel with carryon luggage which greatly limits what you can fit.

The one exchange I did it was spread out over days........ for example you were assigned to deliver all of your fish extender items on a certain day.

That way you were guaranteed to get something everyday but only had to make your own deliveries once, which I also thought was a good idea.

I can't help you with somewhere to eat because we always stay the night before in the Orlando area and drive over the morning of the cruise :woohoo:

I assigned at least one family per day so we get treats each day. If more people sign up I will double them up. Something tells me we won't be getting a whole lot more people.

There are a bunch of restaurants in the pier area, mostly seafood and all CROWDED on Friday nights. We usually grab something on the highway on our way from the airport to our hotel instead. The kids are usually starving the minute we get off the airplane anyway.

Here's a link for the pier area restaurants:

I was jsut looking around for new releases for the week we are cruising. My husband is going to have a heart attack when he finds out the next installation of Narnia and the remake of TRON both come out that week. Hopefully one or both are going to be playing on board!

Most of the time when they release new movies they have special events onboard to mark the occasion. Special showings, etc.

Are those movies coming out for the first time while we are onboard?

If they are out in the theaters around the country then they most likely will be showing on board the ship.

:faint:

I about had a heart attack this afternoon.

I finally booked our flights for the cruise today (flights for 5 people).

Checked everything online to make sure it was correct.

When I got my confirmation email, I noticed that the travel cities were backwards :scared1:

I called the airline right away and was told if I went online that I would be able to change those flights for free. I had visions of a major expense to get the flights that I wanted, especially for 5 people.

But I managed to do it for free. Whew!! That was close.

Then tonight, after I came home from dance class I found out that I had won a recliner chair in a contest from a local furniture store :cool1:

Yay!!. What a nice birthday present.

That's why he's going to be so excited. Both have release dates while we are cruising..I'm guessing TRON will be the big event..

I did something similar last trip. I had to book my DH's flght seperate from the families because I was using freq flyer miles. I got him all booked then went on to book the rest of us and I realized that there wasn't enough room for all of us on the same flight now. No biggie I thought, we'll all meet up in FL an hour later...Then I realized I used my DS's birthdate (they have the same name and their birthdays are 3 days apart) so I had book my 4 year old SON to fly by himself to Orlando AND the reason there was suddenly no room is because he was booked a day EARLIER than us.
The airline was awesome about not only fixing the error but getting us all on the same flight for $50 more total so it worked out perfectly.

Congrats on the chair, that is cool!

:rotfl:I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that these things happen to. :sad2:

Good thing you were able to fix your problems quite easily too.

Stephen is hoping for a 12/17 midnight premiere of Tron. It's his :cake: wish, but it will make for a really long day at CC .. LOL. Of course, if we just grab lounge chairs out at Serenity Bay, we can catch 40 winks there :)

He can go with Matt:rotfl:I have no desire to see TRON ( the first one was aweful but it's DH's fav movie of all time). I will probably get dragged there anyway.

In 2008 the premiered Bolt 3 days before it came out in theaters while we were on the Magic. Maybe we'll get an earlier premiere and won't have to sleep through CC!

Oooh I would love to watch the new Tron!

I am so excited for this cruise!:)

Hello Disboard Cruisers!

This room is an oceanview stateroom, Category 9, Deck 2. Unfortunately, we cannot make it this December and just rescheduled for another cruise. I thought I'd share the info on this thread with the hopes that maybe a fellow Disboarder might want to try for it if interested. Hope it helps someone! :)

We are not members, DH's close friend is. We were supposed to go for my birthday in February but had to cancel because I got sick.

It was FANTASTIC! The decor is beautiful, we had a balcony table one hour before Fantasmic so we got to watch most of the show from our seats (the trees were blocking the aerial view but I could see Mickey on his stage and the boats as they passed the stage).

The food was terrific- we did the Chef's prixe fix- it was 5 courses with an amuse-bouch.
The service was...not DCL. It wasn't bad, but I've had better service at Chili's. I think I might be spoiled. Our server was pleasant, but it wasn't the personalized service I had expected.

So here is what we had (in my own words because I didn't get a picture of the menu lol):
Amuse-Bouch - Shrimp Ceviche in a phyllo cup
1st Course- Wild Mushroom puff pastry with a wonderful cabernet sauce
2nd Course- Rock Lobster over lemon risotto with a peach chutney
3rd Course- Chateaubriand with summer veges
4th Course- Cheese plate (the swiss was aweful but the brie and gouda were delicious)
5th course- World of Color lemon mousse with raspberry filling, served with chocolate ice cream)
One of the few pictures we took:

I embarrassed DH by taking pics of the food but didn't have time to upload them before I left for work this morning.

It was a great once in a lifetime thing, but I don't know that I'd pay to do it again. It just didn't live up to all the hype that I have heard.
