December 11, 2010 7 Night Western Magic (Part DEUX)

Nope could not see any brunch availablity....

Got Palo dinner for my first choice night :cool1: and booked onto the Tulum ruins excursion :thumbsup2

When do I pay for these by the way?:confused3

You pay for those at the end of your cruise on your account.

It is all just charged to that. No payment in advance is needed.

is there a group of people we dont know on this empty magic cruise who r only there for palo brunches?

:rotfl2: I guess so.

The thread on cruise critic is even more quiet than the one here, so it's not a bunch of people from over there who are beating us out of the race.

Something tells me they didn't open any brunches. It is highly unlikely that none of us got it, considering how empty the cruise is and that even cruise critic's dec 11th board is dead. No biggie. We can have our meet while we are all in line at Rockin' D.. haha

Thanks Cruisin.

I cant open up the documents you are meant to fill in 75 days before yet, so maybe they have not loaded up everything onto their system yet?:confused3

Hope you all get your brunch reservations!:goodvibes

Well good luck everyone.

I'm off and will worry about brunch later.

Happy planning.

Good Night! I know it will work out for all of us. There are so many possible time slots there is no way it is totally book solid.

Wow a lot of action since the last time I posted in the thread! That is great! So I've booked the submarine excursion in Cozumel and the Island tour in Grand Cayman, but nothing for Key West yet.

Anyone know about the cart rental spot and how to get in touch with it at all? Or do you get them when you arrive?

Gotta go catch up on the thread now and see everything that has happened so far!

:thumbsup2 I have booked the exact same excursions that you have booked.

I think for Key West that we will just get off the ship and roam around the area for a bit. Maybe we will stop in to see Hemingway's House, but other than that, no plans yet.

:Our plans so far...
Key West- if Grandma & Grandpa don't want to drive down to visit with us we will be staying on the ship, there was nothing there worth doing again as far as the kids were concerned.

Grand Cayman- Boatswain's on our own (it's under $40 for adults and $20 for kids with a free shuttle, can't beat that!) and of course we'll have to go to Margaritaville for the pool/bar..

Cozumel- I booked Fury Catamaran but I'm torn, We love Chankanaab just to hang out and Paradise Beach looks really cool too. I guess I'll have to make a decision soon. I don't like that the Fury doesn't get back until 6PM and we have early dining. Eating in the dining room is a highlight for us.

Any opinions? Anyone been to Paradise Beach? What do you think about it?

Our plans are:
At Key West I think we will probably just take a walk around but mostly stay on the ship.
Grand Cayman we booked on our own with Captain Marvin's at 11:15. I'm a little nervous. Hopefully we will have fun.
At Cozumel we are probably going to Paradise Beach but can't decide to do that on our own or go with DCL on their beach excursion.
Can't wait!! :yay:

We only booked one excursion for the Tulum ruins.

Will probably just hoof it around Key West. Have stayed there hundreds of times.

And have no plans for Grand Cayman. We have been there lots also.
I would love to dive the wall but my daughter buddy is not scuba certified.

Hope Y'all get to book what you want to do.

I know there are a few "books" out there about the Disney cruises. I would like to read one that has all of the tips and little known things in there so I can highlight it and remember certain things and it will all be in one place.

Does anyone have any specific recommendation on which book I should get?

This is our first cruise and I don't want to miss anything! In fact, I went online last night to book everything and got totally overwhelmed and didn't book one excursion. I just don't know what to do with so many options. I am hoping this will help me out.

Thanks in advance,
Jennifer

I like the Passporter books, personally. But to be honest, the DIS has better advice overall, because there are so many people with inside connections. If dining rotations change (which they did 2 weeks before our last cruise) it won't be reflected in a book, but the DIS ers will be talking about it a week before it happens!

We LOVED Captain Marvins (except for the sting rays- the kids were totally freaked out by them at Sting Ray City, did fine with the Disneyfied ones at CC though?!). The crew was exceptional and really went out of their way for us, we only had 3 families on our boat (all Dis meet friends but we didn't book together, it just happened that way!) and they were really great with all of the kids and giving them an alternative when the seas were choppy and the kids were scared to snorkel. One of the the best excursions we've ever been on anywhere!

Is there anything in particular that you would recommend that people should see or do while they are there?

Thanks..that puts my mind at ease somewhat. None of us have ever snorkeled and I think my daughter or I might freak out too!

Juls it was a really rough day on the water when we went and I think that had more to do with them freaking out then anything. The Cpt Marvin's staff made it great, I know you will be in great hands
(I'm gonna go find the pic of me holding my 7 yr old son AND 8 yr old daughter while standing on the sandbar with sting rays swarming and both kids screaming and flailing so much that they nearly ripped my bathing suit off....just for the laugh...Good Times!)

:rotfl2: I sure hope my kids don't do that!!!:rotfl:
would love to see the pic!!
