December 11, 2010 7 Night Western Magic (Part DEUX)

Yes it is great fun to do the fish extenders. Unfortunately the fish extender stuff can take up a lot of space in a suitcase.

It takes some careful planning, depending on the size of the group involved.

I have only done it once in all of my 12 Disney Cruises. I really enjoyed coming back to my cabin and finding all the neat little surprises that were waiting there for me:goodvibes
Does DCL still allow you to ship a box to yourself prior to your cruise? I know they did back in 2006, but I haven't tried it since. Guess I'll have to post a general question over on the DCL board and get back to you.

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

I just downloaded the port schedule for each of our stops and all I can say is.........holy traffic-jam Batman !!!!!!!!

So glad you finally got through!:thumbsup2
I'm still trying to figure out if my husband and I should go to Palo for brunch or dinner , and what day we should try and book.:confused3
Palo dinner is available any night during the cruise. However, the brunch, which by the way is FANTASTIC, is only served the morning before we dock in Key West and on the 2 days at sea.
DH and I have booked brunch for the 1st sea day. We were going to do the brunch on semi-formal night (2nd day at sea), but that would have put a crimp in my lobster eating ability, so we changed our plans :rotfl2:

We are also booked on the first sea day for brunch:thumbsup2

I don't know yet if we will do dinner at Palo or not. We will probably decide that later, when we get onboard.

Because we are Platinum Cruisers we are allowed on "free" dinner at Palo as one of our perks. I'm not sure that we will use it unless everyone wants to go to Palo with us:confused3

We are also booked on the first sea day for brunch:thumbsup2

When is your reservation? We weren't able to get a reservation until 11am. Our original reservation was for the 2nd sea day, but we changed that in deference to my appetite for lobster.

Our reservation is for 11:30.

I went for the latest time possible.

I'm pretty sure that there will be some Castaway Club stuff going on that morning and I want to be able to attend if at all possible.

From what I've been able to find out the Castaway Club Reception party is held that morning.

Klister & Cruisin, we have booked a brunch 10.30am 2nd sea day. Looks like we will have to go easy to fit in the lobster. This is our first cruise so the lobster at semi formal is a great surprise.

Sorted out finally our excursions:

Day 2 Key West - tour around on own
Day 4 Grand Cayman - Stingray city on jetskis (booked own tour) then pirate encounter in afternoon then palo dinner
Day 5 Cozumel - Dolphin Discovery and swim with dolphins, seals and manatees
Day 6 Palo brunch
Day 7 Castaway Cay - fishing in morning

All with a lot of fun, alcohol tasting and partying in between. We're not flying 24 hours to rest ... :rotfl2: :cheer2:

If this is your first cruise how have you managed to get your Palo brunch and dinner booked already?

Don't you have to wait until 75 days out from the cruise to book them:confused3

Edited to add: Dawned on me shortly after I typed this that you are probably staying in a suite with concierge service

Sounds like you have a lot of fun stuff planned for your cruise:thumbsup2

We don't generally do many excursions. We enjoy just being on the ship.

And now we're wondering if we can justify the expense of doing a back-2-back 7 night AND 11 night cruise !!!!!!! :faint:

We're Silver castaway members so I booked our Palo reservations tonight at midnight, east coast time. We are doing brunch on Sunday, dinner on Monday and high tea on Thursday. Not sure about the high tea yet, may cancel that one or give the ressie to my inlaws. I must have gotten one of the lasthigh tea reservations because there were none left just a little bit after midnight.

We're not booking any excursions through Disney so I didn't have to do that tonight.
