December 03, 2005 Western Magic?

Hi Cindy,

I hope this helps. This may have changed the last navigators I saw had these nights listed as shows. I will post the web site for that as soon as I can find it. But this is what I wrote in my cruise notebook.

Day 1 - Welcome Aboard show
Day 2- (Key West) - Mouseketer show (this may have been discont.)
Day 3- (AT SEA) - Golden Mickeys ::MickeyMo
Day 4 -(Grand Cayman) -- Cinderella Show princess:
Day 5- (Cozumel) -- Pirates of the Caribbean Party pirate:
Day 6- (AT SEA) -- Disney Dreams :dancer:
Day 7 -(Castaway Cay) -Farwell Variety Show

This is a web site that has an 80 page guide for the Disney Cruise line
(The Magical Disney Cruise Guide) http://allearsnet.com/cruise/cruise.htm it has a lot of info and is free. I hope this helps, and if anyone knows of changes please post, as this is about a month old.

Connie

Cindy,

I will pm you with the website with the navigators for the cruises, it also lists childrens navigators, spas, menues. I can't seem to post a link of it here. If any one else wants this website email me at mommynt1996@yahoo.com

Welcome Ken & Michele and Connie!! Glad you found us.

DIS Meet - looks like 3:00 is a good time because several of us used that time last year and it worked. But we have a choice of locations. I’ve seen Outlook bar (outside) and Promanade Lounge (inside). I like the Outlook bar if it's nice. What does everyone else think?

Connie - my son will be dressing up for Pirate night. I found a great wig for Rick (my DH) - with big hoop earings. But he said no - something about it would make his head itch and he wouldn't wear it for long. But it would have been quite a sight!!!

Still don't know what we are doing on Cayman and Cozumel. Beach, snorkeling, Turtle Farm are all options. We'd like to go where DS Matt has some friends. I'm not doing a Disney excurion but if we decide to do another excursion I know I should get moving and get it booked.

Key West - we're going to the Butterfly Place (conservatory??) and the Pirate Museum.

CC - just beaching it. And snorkeling.

Diane :fish:

I'd like to do Promenade Lounge if it's bad weather or Outlook Bar if it's nice and the kids could be play on deck (I can't remember, but I think some of the kids swam last year???)

I'm sorry we haven't emailed any pen pals back yet. DH Greg has been out of town for a week and DS Matt has had a cold. I'm a volunteer for a local hospice and our big fund raiser of the year is tonight and for the last weekend and week there have been a lot of little odds and ends to deal with. Greg gets back in town today at 4:00, just in time! I'm off work today to go set up at the party location. It's a Casino night with celebraty dealers. Should be lots of fun! I'll be glad when it's over though!!

Do anyway, next week will be a good pen pal week and the kids are sooo ready to talk to friends. They're really talking alot about the cruise now. Remembering their favorite things from last year etc.

The website that I went to for copies of adult and kids Navigators, menus, shows etc. was: dcltribute.com (I think). Let me know if that dosen't do it. I also went to ***************** (I think) I'll look at my notes from last year.

Have a great Friday!!!

Gailyn

Either location is fine with us on the DIS Meet...since we've never been to either pretty much anything works for us! :teeth:

Been busy trying to wrap up stuff on the home front so that I'll be able to really relax on vacation. :goodvibes
Wrapping up next weekend on cheerleading...the football season is finally about over. :cheer2:
Working on Christmas shopping to get that out of the way. :bitelip:
Trying to not pay attention :rolleyes1 to all the foul weather that keeping battering our destinations!

Keep me posted on what's going on with all of you. It's been WAY too quiet on this thread for the amount of time we have left until we leave!! Let's get fired up here! M-I-C, K-E-Y.....come on say it with me..... M - O - U - S - E! ::MickeyMo

Hey this is Lara i am the daughter Disney Fanatics R Us and sailing with NeverGrowUp.... Can'T waIt for the CruIse.....

As you can you, our daughter has decided to check out the DIS as well. She's really looking for some other teens close to her age... please let us know if any of you are out there.

Any news on Hurricane Wilma and the damage in the ports? It sure does not sound good for those folks. pirate:

We do need some more action on this site. Is our original starter no longer going on the cruise? I would like to see the front updated with our list of travelers.

3 PM for a meet sounds good to us. Just let us know where to go. :cloud9:

Hey all,

Has anyone heard about the condition of the Western ports? I read on CNN.com that Cozumel had "a lot of destruction". Any clue about Grand Cayman? I don't think CC has taken a hit has it? There have been too many hurricanes for me to remember. :confused3

Ken

I've been watching CNN and the postings on the DCL thread but still don't know about possible damage to GC. Cozumel got hammered. On a previous cruise someone on another thread said they went to Costa Maya instead of Cozumel. Someone else posted that they had an Eastern instead of the scheduled Western. I guess we have to wait and see. Keeping all those in Wilma's path in my prayers!

I too would like to see our list of travelers, real names, cabin numbers and kids names/ages, excursions and dining rotation. However, I have no idea how to make a chart and put all the info in one place. I'd be willing to learn if someone wants to help me! :sunny: :sunny:

Just a refresher for the new folks: Our group consists of:
me (Gailyn,41) DH Greg, (42), DD Nicole (just turned 8), DS Matthew (6).
Cabin 6622
Early PLAP rotation
No DCL excursions but will do Pirate Museum on KW, beach on our own at GC (Rum Pointe or Sea Grape) and Chankanaab, Eagle Ray Divers or maybe Paradise Beach on our own.

Greg's parents Dolores and George are in 6620. They went with us last year and rebooked this year. They're great traveling companions and it's nice to have the extra help with the kids.

We're doing excursions with Diane's family so the kids can have playmates (and us too!!) We welcome other families who'd like to join us. Last year our excursions and beach times were so much more fun because of the families we met :cheer2: .

We sailed last year on our first cruise, the 11/27 Eastern with NJCruisers (Diane) and her family. DH went under protest, he thought 7 days was too long and he wouldn't have enough to do.... We all had such a good time we rebooked for this trip :rotfl: .

Thanks to those who have emailed about pen pals. The kids are really getting fired up.
If anyone else is interested, post your email.
Ours is: gmpopovich@sbcglobal.net

Gailyn

Gailyn - you said you have early PLAP rotation. Are you with the AAA group? I thought we all has the APL rotation?

I'll start the group list this afternoon and post it later tonight.

Other families - we are hoping some will join us on our on-our-own excursions. And, help us decide which ones to do. I was reading about Rum Point and heard it got hit pretty bad with Ivan, but that was a while ago. Have you found the taxi fares yet? All I keep reading is that its cheaper to rent a car. That would require pre-planning so I guess I better get to more research.

Diane :fish:

Diane,
Yes, we're with Kim's AAA group and it's totally possible that I have the rotation wrong :) . So, whatever rotation you have, we have the same one!

Thank you for working on our list!

We just went to the Disney store this week and all the costumes are half price. Even the accessories. Matt got a Capt Hook outfit and Nicole picked Jasmine. They want to bring their costumes with them on the ship! Right now Nicole is running around in Matt's costume. I can't believe it fits her! Anyway, the Disney store also had a cute Pirates of the Carribean costume.

Well off to make more coffee :)

Gailyn

Gailyn,

Thanks for the email from Nicole. Melissa really thought it was cool. She's never used email before. We are looking forward to meeitng you all.

Does anyone know anything about Costa Maya? Just curious.

Ken

is there anyone my age 13 or 14 going on our cruise... parents said there may not be too many because it is during school :teacher: that would stink

wow I CaN't BeLiEVe It's CoMinG so FasT :teeth:

Lara - I see that Disney R Us and Lizardman have 12 year old daughters. Tink1663 has a 13 year old son. You should try to send them an email or private message. Find a note they posted and then click on their name and you can send them a message.

I'm sure there are others who just aren't part of our group. You should go to the club (or whatever they call it for your age) on the first night and I'm sure you'll meet people your age. I hear it is best to start going the first night because at that time NO ONE knows anyone else so it's easy to meet each other.

Diane :fish:

Diane,
Thanks for the summary. Do you know how it gets forwarded????

Ken, Nicole was so excited to get Melissa's email too. She was even more excited that someone that lives so close to us is going on the same cruise!

Greg and his Dad are at the Browns game today. The kids and I are hanging out. It feels so nice not to have to go anywhere!!! I hope to start packing within the next couple weeks. I really want to be finished the weekend before we leave.

Last year we took way too much stuff. I'm really cutting down this year. My goal is one suitcase for DH and I, one garment bag, one large bag for the kids and holding an empty duffle, one bag for wine and neccessities plus our carryons. We'll see how I do LOL!

Have a great day! :sunny:

One bag for just you and DH, how? Jeez, I need one just for Ryleigh's and my shoes.
This post made me LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!
Remember, less is more....I ended up not wearing a lot of what I brought.

Diane - Thanks for updating the list. Our cabin has changed from 8576 to 8572. The other 2 cabins are the same. Also, my brother (41) will be cruising with my mother (75) as her travelling companion.
